 - HTML rendering problems Entourage is having difficulty reading some complex HTML mail (messages with simple tables but no graphics). The tables often fail to load. Replying/forwarding complex HTML is a disaster. There are also some UI bugs that (although very rare) are caused by some HTML messages.  - Maximum number of messages in database What is the maximum number of messages that can be in the Entourage database before problems start to occur? I have over 3,500 messages in my database although there are no more than 250 in each folder. I have 3 IMAP accounts (all with plenty of space left) and 1 POP account. Although Entourage is still running reasonably fast, rules are failing to run and sometimes even though I've read all messages (and done 'mark all as read') I still see "INBOX (1)" (reminds me of a problem in early Mozilla versions...).  - Doubled All-Day Events I'm having an odd problem with Entourage 2004 and have seen mention of this. I'm hoping I'm doing something silly and there is solution. First, I create a new event in the calendar. Then I check the "All-day event" box. I then set the event to reoccur every day. I then edit the occurance rule and have the event repeat for two or more times. (Setting an end date more than two days away results in the same problem as well.) The event shows up fine on the first day. However, it shows up twice on all the remaining days. If I delete the second, both are removed. When I sync Entourage to my Palm, a single event is shown every day. If I create an multi-day, no time event on my Palm, and then sync to Entourage, the event shows up properly. Question: 1. So is the file in the Office 2004 Identites called Username (main) is the one that is the active file that Entourage uses? 2.  - Spinning Ball when replying Sometimes I get the spinning ball for long periods of time on some e-mails. Some of them do not even have attachments.  - password problems and can't update I'm using Entourage on Office X on a G4 400 running 10.3.7. I have 2 accounts set up, one for my wife and one for myself. I have no problems whatsoever sending and receiving mail. However, my wife's account has frequent problems. She gets password error messages often and I've watched as it seems to take forever for a message to send. It is remedied by quiting and restarting Entourage. Usually this requires a force quit as Entourage hangs. I thought that perhaps updating Entourage would take care of the problems. When I tried to install the updates, I got an error message (which I can't remember) on two of them and one of those 'already installed' on the other. The already installed message was incorrect as I know for a fact that I hadn't installed that update. These are the updates I was trying to install: Microsoft Entourage 2004 Junk E-mail Filter Update 1 (11.1.0) - this one gave me that error message Microsoft AutoUpdate for Office 2004 for Mac - this one said that I didn't have Auto Update installed Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Service Pack 1 (11.1.0) - this one said that it had already been installed.  - Script menu crashes Entourage 2004 after category deletion If I delete a category in Entourage 2004 from an applescript run in Script Editor, everything works fine. If I run the same script from the Entourage Script Menu it crashes Entourage. What I believe is the relevant code snippit is this: repeat with delCategory in toDelete delete delCategory end repeat set allCategories to categories It seems to be crashing at either the delete statement, or at the retrieve all categories statement. I tried surrounding the delete statement with a couple of two second delays in case the delete hadn't completed when I was getting the updated list, but that made no difference.  - LDAP Server Error I just installed Office 2004 and the directory service for Entourage gives me an LDAP Server (global address list) error message. I had Office X installed before and the service worked fine. They both had the same settings entered, they were identical. I tried uninstalling Office X thinking they conflicted or something but that wasn't it. When I installed Office 2004 the import feature worked fine with Entourage but the LDAP kept giving me the message. Anyone have any ideas?  - Entourage Problem - I attempted to rebuild. Help! This is the second time this has happened to me in 18 months. All of a sudden I cannot enter Entourage X. I have a huge database of almost 2 Gig. I was told by Microsoft support yesterday there is a cut off at 2 Gig. But a work around that can take you up to 4 Gig. However, in the interim I need to get in to Entourage to eliminate several thousand email messages that are in my deleted box. Current size of the Database appears to be 1.99G. I attempted to do a normal rebuild and an advanced. Both times the rebuild stops at (-40)... Whatever that means. Then it brings up a window saying it is deleting items. I panicked the first few times and did a force quit. But then after consulting with MS Support we believed it was doing some housecleaning, potentially deleting the emails in the Deleted folder. Well after allowing my Powerbook to run 48 hours it eventually deleted about 6000 items. I presume that it might be that folder. Or so I am hoping. I tried to get into Entourage this morning same problem. Should I attempt to reinstall Office? Any ideas. I would hate to think I have lost 700 contacts and a year of email. Yes, I know, I should have been backing up!!! But with my WONDERFUL POWERBOOK, viruses and crashes are a distant memory of my Microsoft Nightmares... Wait a second, Entourage is a MS product.  - Time stamps in sent messages - Entourage 2004 Hi all, All of my sent messages in entourage 2004 display with the incorrect time. Each message has a time stamp roughly 1 hour earlier than it should have. These messages were not sent with Entourage, they were sent with Outlook 2002 on the PC. From Outlook 2002 I connected to an exchange server and copied the messages up to the exchange server from my local 'Personal Folders' (pst). If I view the sent messages from Outlook Web Access they display with the correct time. If I view them from Outlook on the PC they display with the correct time. If I view with Outlook 2001 on the Mac (Classic) they display with the correct time. It's ONLY Entourage that shows up the wrong time. If I view the source in Entourage, the time stamps in the source message match what Entourage shows in its list view. All time zones are set correctly. NEW messages sent from Entourage show with the correct time. It only affects these imported messages. Before I had access to an exchange server I tried importing these messages with Thunderbird and Eudora, but both had the same results - once they are in Entourage, the times go crazy. Any ideas?  - Mac OSX and Exchange 5.5 Hello all, I've read lots of articles about this, and though I think I know the answer I wanted to throw the question out there once more. Is there anyway to use OSX (not 9 or Classic) to connect to an Exchange 5.5 Server and use all features: email, calendar, notes, tasks, and contacts. I know I can use imap or pop3 for email, but we rely heavily on calendars, contacts, and tasks at my work. We do plan on upgrading to Exchange 2000 by end of 2005, but this is the make or break on whether I can use Mac at work.  - I don't have Internet settings under my System preferences... How can I change that? When I open System preferences under Mac OS X 10.3.5, I only see the .Mac, Network, Quicktime and Sharing Icons, but nothing else that will let me change what my default browser is for various programs. In specific, I'm trying to change the default browser Entourage 2004 uses when clicking on a link. Currently, when I click on a link in any e-mail message, it's opening up Safari, the default Mac browser. Instead, I want the links to open up with either Mozilla Firefox or IE.  - Palm/Entourage Category Sync Issues I've updated categories, (actually changed category names) however, on sync, palm still remembered it's old categories and added them to Entourage. So, I've tried the following but no luck. Any ideas? 1. Deleted the old categories in Entourage and performed a sync with Entourage overwritting Palm. 2. I've deleted the Palm categories and the Entourage categories and performed a sync. It appears that the Entourage Conduit remembers them. Is there a way to purge this?  - Sorting the Address book by First Name How can I sort the Address book according to "First Name" rather than "Last name"? Or If not possible, how can I then display the default list in the form "Last Name, First Name" because I don't know who thought it would be easy or efficient to sort by last name, but display first names first - but it was certainly not someone who was thinking about ease of use. Why is it that the in the detail view of the contact, there are separate fields for the first and last names but in the contextual menu for column in the main address book view, these are lumped in one Name field?  - Line endings re: Entourage 04 Hello. I'm having some trouble with an application that exports data to email. Specifically, they're recipes. Entourage doesn't seem to recognize line endings properly; in the new message window, all of the lines run together when a recipe is exported into a new mail message. It works just fine with Mail. Interestingly, if I email the recipe to myself, the line endings are interpreted correctly in the incoming mail. I spoke with the author of the recipe application, and he guessed that Entourage used a non-standard line-ending character sequence. In his application (and, according to him, Unix and OS X), the standard line ending character is the "newline" character (\n).  - Database Daemon Excessive Drive Access I'm running Office X 2004 and I've noticed that my drive makes a lot of noise that is being caused by the Database Daemon accessing the drive constantly.  - Synching Entourage w. a newer handheld Hi-In today's Mactopia Newsletter I was thrilled to see this issue addressed, as I just got a new Palm T3 and haven't been able to synch the Contacts with my Entourage. There are great instructions (seemed) from MS, but this 2nd part had a problem. They say at one point to click Conduit Settings on the HotSync Menu. OK. Then "In the list of conduits, double-click Entourage Conduit." Up to this point, everything they said worked/made sense.  - Sync Entourage with PalmTreo600 I was just handed a Palm 600 and a cord, no manuals, no software nothing. I have a powerbook G4 laptop with 10.3.7, I went to palmone and downloaded palm desktop 4.1 for the mac. I went to Microsoft to find the entourage conduit and had some trouble finding it, but I did judt download it and tried to install the handheld sync file and it tells me it cannot install because it cannot find Microsoft Component Plugin, and I am looking right at the plugin, it is in the office folder were it should be. I have tried a few differnt options and non of them will work? Will it work with Isync, or will that not sync with entourage Is anyone using the treo 600 with entourage? Does it work?  - Invalid ID or Password Error I am attempting to set up my Entourage to connect to an Exchange 5.5 server. For some reason, when I fill in the users account info, emailbox, etc. the program will give me an "Invalid ID or password error" while it's attempting to authenticate to the mailbox. However, if I fill the administrator information in, it logs in just fine to the mailbox bound to the domain admin account. What could be the problem? Maybe I'm having problems determining what information goes where?  - you do not have write access to the entourage application folder with any luck this is a simple problem and i have overlooked something - i have spent days looking for an answer all over the internet i had problems with my machine and reinstalled office 2004 and the updater and now when i try to start entourage it says "you do not have write access to the entourage application folder.  - Error 16008 was not properly fixed Hi, I am a mac admin running a small network of 10.3.7 stations using Office 2004. All the users are network users and several get the "error 16008" message multiple times a day. The Entourage users are also connected to an exchange server. What is strange is that only some users are getting this error. Two users specifically use the Project feature in Entourage and suffer from it worse than anyone. I have looked all over the web for an answer and downloaded the latest 11.1 patch and still it is not working. Can anyone help with this? Any information is welcome.  - Entourage and Exchange Spam Filtering We have our Entourage clients connected to our Exchange 2003 server. The exchange server is running the Microsoft Intelligent Message Filter. All the PCs clients can see the Spam Confidence Level by enabling a hack on each outlook client. Is there a hack to allow the macs to see this Spam Rating? I attempted to run the script again and sync Entourage with the Apple Address Book and cannot get it to sync. I am sure it is something bone-headed on my part, but I am now thoroughly confused.  - Printing Problem in Entourage 2004 I apologize if this has been asked before! I searched & couldn't find an answer. When I attempt to print longer emails in Entourage 2004, I only get one page (usually the last as my default setup is to print last-to-first. If I want to print out longer emails, I have to print them one page at a time. No error message displays and nothing is ever left in the print queue at the end of the "job". Strange! Anybody else come across this? Know how to fix it? Thanks, CLBinMD BTW, printer in question is an HP Officejet 7130 with a JetDirect card installed.  - Public Folders Hello! My companies Exchange server has a Public Folder that has a subfolder for internal "Classified Ads". On any given day there are anywhere from 30 to 50 new postings, mostly from employees trying to get rid of personal junk, that are added. When I select all and control+click on the subfolder and select "mark all as read", all is good. But minutes later, once Entourage 2004 re-syncs, all the postings come back as read!  - Entourage 2004 can't send to outlook HI Had a search but can't find anything on this. Have Entourage 2004 on 10.3 connected to Exchange 2000. When sending messages to another Exchange user who uses Outlook 2000 or XP the message gets corrupted. It gets delivered but the bosy of the message is missing and is replaced by part of the server name! Has anyone seen this before? All help greatly appreciated.  - How to remove fonts from Entourage 2004 Is there a way to have way less fonts show up in the font drop down menu of each email? I think that this is more of a question about how OSX handles fonts. I would like to have all my fonts show up in applications such as InDesign and perhaps even Word, but I'd love it if only the 4 fonts I use for HTML emails show up. Especially given how long it takes Entourage to create that list. Many thanks for any ideas. Just upgrade to office 2004, when I double click on the entourage conduit
that came with it,it will not open to let me choose the settings, any help
will be great

Did you install the new conduit that comes with Office 2004 ??? The
Office X one won't work...
