 - Moving Entourage to a New Computer I just bought a new iBook G4 and want to move my Entourage information from my old G3 Powerbook to the new machine. I've copied the Office X folder itself using a FireWire connection, but now want to bring my old e-mail, contacts, etc. over as well. When I try to "Import," there's no option for importing from the same version of Office X. I've seen a workaround for Contacts, but nothing about the old e-mail itself.  - Entourage Sending Messages, but Not Receiving. Hello, Stranged problem just started to happen on my MAC. I'm running OS 10.2.8 with Office X. (not 2004). Last Friday I was able to send an receive mail just fine, then suddenly when it went to send and receive, it froze up. I tried things manually after Force Quitting and I was able to send, but not receive. I don't get any error messages, nothing. It just sits there until I force quit. According to our network administator, all my network and account settings are correct, as they should be. I didn't do anything to them! I ran Disk Doctor, First Aid, uninstalled the entire Office X suite, reinstalled it, deleted an old 2001 folder with an old identity in it and it work fine the rest of the day and then again this morning, but NOW, it's not working again. I don't have a clue what to look for now. The tech guys I work with are PC/Windows guys so I don't want them to start monkeying around with my MAC. I've tried everything I can think and was hoping for another idea here on the boards. I'm also going to try the Apple boards, as their response time seems to be soooo much quicker than this one.  - This Project is Done - Now to make it go away... Actually, I'd just like to file it. Or note somehow that it's "done". And unchecking the due date doesn't do either of these things, and doesn't record if we hit the deadline or missed it. I've tried "archiving" - but the project still sits there. I'd like to have an accessable record of what was said and done, with all of the great filing capabilities of the Project Center (folders on the desktop, etc.) but projects (at least in my company) come and projects go, except in Microsoft Entourage, where a project, it seems, is forever there, getting one more day overdue every day. Is there any possible way to do what I'm asking here? It seems so simple, yet so elusive... Please note: renaming "Project 1" to "Project 1 - Done", unchecking the due date, and deleting things individually off the file system is NOT a solution. Thanks for any and all responses.  - Safe Domains - Where are they stored? I'd like to be able to add safe domains programmatically (if possible) instead of having to type them in manually myself. For example, I'd like to be able to select a message and choose "Add to Safe Domains" from the Scripts menu to run an AppleScript that would get the domain of the selected message and add it to the Safe Domains list. So the question is: Where is the list of safe domains stored, or how can I manipulate them outside of doing it manually?  - Making Entourage truly the default I am using Entourage in the OS X version. I have selected Entourage to be my default email program in preferences. However, when ever I try to use an email link that comes on a website or in an email, what comes up is my old Mac Mail program.  - hyperlink on jpg in custom signature?? hi there, I have version 11.0 Entourage for Mac. I am trying to create a custom signature and am using a .jpg in it. I would like to have that .jpg be a hyperlink when the user received my email and clicked on the .jpg. I know you can do this in Microsoft Word, but I am having a hard time trying to figure out if it's possible in Entourage. Please, if anyone has any knowledge on this it would be greatly appreciated.  - Exchange server (OWA) syncing quits When I set up Entourage 2004 to access the Exchange server at work via=20 Outlook Web Access, it works fine at first, and it might work for a day = or=20 two, but then it just stops syncing.  - osx to 2004 lost links I just got office 2004. I have office OSX. When I installed Office 2004 all my links were gone. I had "Automatically link messages to the contacts that send them" preference checked. When I called MS they said it would be lost during update. That is hard to believe. I see no others writing about this problem. I did try Paul's solution (dragging the mbox out, deleting and re dragging it in) This worked for saved emails, but the "sent" emails are still no longer have links.  - Mac HD crashed, need to recover email messages My hard drive has an error and I need to erase it and reinstall. but first I want to get all of my old email files out of Entourage. I have a Previous System folder that contains a lot of stuff but I am not sure where to find my email files. I also want to save my Entourage address book listings.  - Bcc myself automatically? In Entourage 2004, is there a way to BCC myself automatically each time I create a new message? I know, of course, that I can do it manually each time but it would be nice to have it done for me each time as it was in Apple's Mail. (I BCC myself on each piece of sent mail so that I don't have to worry about syncing my laptop and desktop computer's email. I have a Rule set up to save these messages in a separate folder.) Thanks!  - Success transferring PST file information from Outlook to Entourage Well, it has been a nightmare, but I have finally been able to transfer my PST file information from Outlook on a PC to Entourage 2004. Note: I have a total of about 100,000 email messages, 2000 contacts, and 30,000 calendar items spread over several archive files and my current PST file so this was no fast or easy task. Transferring the contacts, taks, notes, and even calendar items was easy using Paul Berkowitz's scripts, thought I had to turn of checking for duplicates as that made things take many hours instead of minutes considering the large number I had to deal with. Transferring email was the really tough nut, and I would not call it 100% cracked (See below). Basically, I had a friend set up an Exchange Server on an old PC. We then copied over my PST files and got them into that server. Once there, we "simply" had to download them via exchange server to Entourage and (as backup) Mail.App (Apple's Mail client). Well, I will tell you this, Entourage's interface with Exchange is EXCRUCIATINGLY slow and stupid. It has a bizarre mind of its own and seems to start downloading and stop downloading (synchronizing) message from the server. When I monitor the netowrk traffic, it is only using ~1%... and often zero as it "waits" between downloading sessions. Even at full speed it only downloads about 5 MESSAGE A SECOND! You do the math when you have 100,000 (ok, I will, it will take 20,000 seconds which is only ~6 hours). However, due to its insessent stopping (for not apparent reason -- and you cannot "force" it to get going) it will actually take more like >6 DAYS. Fortunately, Mail.App is faster and smarter and downloading from an exchange server. We were able to download all of the mail in less than one day. It even retains all of the read/unread information, etc. Since Entourage has an ability to import mail from Mail.App, that is how I have been able to transfer everything in. HOWEVER, this importing process DESTROYS all read/unread information... Not knowing why it did this, I decided to test Entourage by exporting a small mail folder with read and unread message to an *.rge (entourage archive) and then re-imported it. Sure enough, Entourage CANNOT even import its own files without DESTROYING the read/unread information (hence the "not 100% cracked" comment above). *sigh* At least I have all my messages. In the mean time over the next week or so I will see if Entourage can't download all of my messages directly from the server... *sigh* again. If anyone know how I could (or could have) done things better, pleaset let me know! (I am using the new msn-hotmail system as suggested already. working = fine=20 with Entourage X) Try to uninstall office and reinstall office with no use.  - timeout error 111 att secure server with Entourage 2004 when attempting to receive mail from att secure = server=20 (ipostoffice.worldnet.att.net). It attempts to download messages or = update=20 the message list for exactly 3 minutes and then gives me a 111 timeout=20 error.=20 When I originally set up Entourage X it did the same thing but didn't=20 timeout, it chugged for about 5 minutes, updated the message list and=20 never had the delay again. It seems to happen just the first time you = set up a=20 new a account or migrate to a new machine.=20 Its driving me crazy, does anybody have any ideas.  - Entourage XP and Exchange Server 2000 Dear Newsgroup, I am connected to my companies Exchange 2000 Server by VPN. Everything works well. In addition, I installed my private POP3-Account, which is also the default account for Entourage. But when I new mail is sent to my companies account, Entourage puts the incomming mail not in the Inbox-Folder of my Exchange-Account, instat it appears in the inbox of my POP3-Account.  - Entourage crashes I'm running OS 10.3.4. Entourage (10.1.4) crashes when receiving inbound = mail if there are attachments in the queue.  - Unable to export projects - damaged email Hi - I'm using Entourage 2004 which I had upgraded from Entourage X which, in turn was an upgrade from 2001 and 98 before that. My database goes back through all of these versions. I've finally decided that I'd like to archive off some messages and events to help make Palm Syncs and general Entourage actions better. I have identified *a lot* of past messages and events and placed them into a project named "2000-2003 archives". I am next trying to use the file->export option to export that project's events and email to an Entourage Archive (.rge file). At some point in the export, the progress bar stops and a message comes up stating I have a damaged email and I should open the database tool and verify the database. I have done what was instructed and, in fact, have rebuilt the database twice. I am still receiving the message. What do I do now to in order to 'clean out' the old files while still being able to access them (albeit with a few inconveniences.) Thanks, - Chris -- Anti-spam return address!  - Saved Attachments OSX 10.3.4 - Ent 2004 When someone sends me a Word file, I open it from Entourage. It automatically saves a copy in "Saved Attachments in the Microsoft User Data folder. I make changes in the opened Word doc, and save it. If I reopen the same email, with the same document I just changed, it does not show my changes. Why not?  - Accessing Public Calendars & Contacts I've set up Entourage 2004 and can see some Public folders that reside on the Exchange server. I can not, however, see our public calendar, only my personal calendar. Same goes for our public contacts list. In OUTLOOK for Mac, if I sent an email and decided that I needed to=20 "unsend" it or "recall" the message, it was a simple process of = selecting the=20 message from my sent items folder and choosing Recall Message from the=20 menu bar. I buy an open license from Microssoft so I can use there overpriced=20 exchange server with Macs, and of course you need the whole suite now,=20 you can't just get Entourage alone, and they say I get no support. Not=20 without paying an obscene amount of money.  - Entourage 2004 and Exchange Problem I see I may not be the only one with this issue, but I haven't seen any = fixes=20 here yet.=20 I am doing clean installs of Panther on g4 machines with Office 2004.=20 Entourage can see the accounts (I can tell because it does verify the=20 accounts) but thats it. It isn't syncing nor can I send Email through = it. Any suggestions? Entourage X works great. But 2004 doesn't.=20 Are there any setting that need to be changed on the Exchange server?  - Entourage 2004 DE - replying to emails Hi, Theres one annoying change between entourage X and Entourage 2004 German Version i would like to work around if possible. If replying to an email in Entourage X, the Subject was prefixed wirh an "Re:" (english). Now with the german version of Entourage 2004, the Subject will be prefixed with "AW:" (german). Most of the time, i am communicating with english speaking people and i do therefore NOT like the "AW:" prefix.  - entourage 2004 w/imap - displaying message more than once hoi, using two different imap accounts with two different servers gives me a=20 strange behavior: i see a single message more than once in message list. = browser them i can only fetch the body of a single message. doing apple = a=20 and press delete - all message will be highlighted but only one gets the = "-----" line through it. i've already messed around with keeping synchronised, fetching whole=20 message, reorganising database - nothing helped. entourage x works=20 without any problems... any ideas? thanks! seb Tag: Entourage 2004 Message Viewing Options Tag: 42107

I like to read the list of emails with the newest on the bottom (sorting
triangle in sent column pointing up). When I start Entourage the emails are
sorted properly but the focus is on the start (the oldest emails) not the
end which are the most current.

When I open Entourage after its already been started the focus displays on
the bottom of the list as I desire.

Is there any way to set this as the default when starting Entourage?

Also, anyone else disappointed that toolbars are not customizable? I would
love to add an empty trash icon. As far as I know, Entourage is the only
Microsoft Office (PC or Mac) app that doesn't allow for toolbar
customization.

No, but it's easy to strike the "end" key on your keyboard, which scroll
the list to the bottom.

But you can make a keyboard shortcut that empties the trash. m.
