 - Printing Error in Entourage I am trying to print my calendar from Entourage. I keep getting an error message 30876. I get this message even if I try to save to a PDF.  - How do I delete folders from the "Move" menu in Entourage 11.1.0? I recently switched from Eudora to Entourage, simultaneously changing to Exchange. I had imported all my old folders from Eudora, but had to copy them after a few days into the new Exchange account. I then deleted the originals. The problem is that when I use the "Move" menu to file a message, it still shows me the old, now deleted folders along with the new Exchange-based folders.  - ENTOURAGE: No Return Receipt? How could this be? ENTOURAGE: No Return Receipt? How could this be? After 10+ years of the robust, but only nominally-mac-supported Eudora Pro, we recently migrated over to Entourage for our e-mail-intensive business. Anong other requirements, we use more than 20 separate signatures, and the Mac-resident MAIL program just didn't seem hearty enough for our needs. I've searched Entourage up, down, and six ways to Sunday, looking for the ability to send an e-mail with RETURN RECEIPT. Could it really be true that this crucial tool was not included in Entourage, or am I using the wrong program? Thanks for any help anyone may be able to offer, either providing the hidden key to unlock Return Receipt Facility in Entourage, or pointing us to a muscular and versatile, great Mac-native or Mac-friendly e-mail client that will..  - Entourage with HTTP Exchange server Hi, Love being on a Mac, but hate being on my own. My IT dept standard reply to my Q's is "you shouldn't be using a Mac..." Anyway, previously we ONLY had OWA access to our corporate email, they recently opened it up so we can use Outlook 2003 over HTTP to access our exchange server. To get this to function, I need to configure setting in the Outlook "Exchange Proxy Settings" section. I don't find similar options in Entourage.  - Need help please I am running OS X Panther, and using Entourage for email. Occasionally... at least once a day.. I receive email that looks like gibberish... I can hit reply and read the body copy, but, that is the only way I can... if the email happens to have a link of some sort in it.. the link does not translate in the reply and I have to go back to the original email and look for the blue letters and hope I get the right link.  - Spinning wheel when connected to Exchange When I use Entourage connected to my Exchange server, I get the little spinning rainbow wheel a lot. This occurs primarily when I am typing an email, appointment, task, etc. Sometimes the wheel takes 3-5 seconds to go away, other times it takes up to 15-20 seconds. I can keep typing while the wheel is up, and it catches up when the wheel goes away. It doesn't matter whether Entourage is actually connecting to the Exchange server or not. When I'm not online with the Exchange server, I don't notice the spinning wheel. I have tried running this on its' own with no other apps. I don't notice any drop in CPU time or RAM (I have a 1.67 GHz G4 Powerbook with 1.5 GB RAM and plenty of disk space) Any ideas? It's not life threatening, but it sure is a pain.  - .msg file types I've saved a bunch of Outlook files from my work PC (all zipped) and emailed them to my Gmai account for viewing. The only thing is that my Mac won't recognize these files. Is there some reason that Entourage can't open these? I click on the file and all it does is open a new email with the zipped file as an attachment.  - could not open the attachment, an unknown error (-5000) occurred Hi, I am using Entourage 2004. I cannot open any attachments. I am getting "could not open the attachment, an unknown error (-5000) occurred" error message. But I save the attachment to the disk, I can open the file. I tried following actions; 1- Create a new user and log in it, 2- Remove Office and reinstall, 3- Delete database from Identities folder, problem continues with blank database, 4- Control the permission on Office folder -->it was read and write 5- Verified disk permissions, using disk utility, But my problem continues.  - Outgoing Email Hangs Why does outgoing email sometimes hang for unusually longer periods (perhaps a minute) with the last kbs. Is there anything to be done to expedite this? It seems currently, my shift to Adelphia cable has resulted in an increase in this hang time. I do not recall the former Verizon DSl hanging this long.  - Issues importing from an archive. Moving from powerbook to powerbook, I archived my mail, notes and tasks and on trying to import I keep on getting an error saying that I stopped the import (BUT I DIDN'T!). Apart from the frustrating error message, is there another way to get these items in to my new profile? Looks like the archive is a package, can I 'show contents' and import that way?  - logon failure if Exchange alias/username same in forest Hi, Entourage 2004 (11.1.0) on Mac OS X 10.3.9 is giving me: "logon failure: unknown user name or bad password" We're speculating this occurs whenever there is another user with the same F+LAST alias in the GAL -OR- same username in AD in a different domain (changing the alias didn't seem to help). We are a child domain. e.g. at Entourage prompt, we type: account: OURDOMAIN\jsmith password: ******** and get the bad password message. OWA and Outlook 2003/PC work fine. Password is fine. Keychain is fine. In our Exchange org, we have: Smith, Janet (SMTP: jsmith@parentdomain.com) Smith, Jed (SMTP: jsmith@oursubdomain.com) <- changed from default UPN of @sub.parent.com; oursubdomain.com exists in our DNS) Note that the email address entered in the account/password dialog is the FQDN on the Exchange Email Addresses tab, which is unique to the entire organization/forest/site. We think it's doing it because there is another "jsmith" elsewhere in the forest, but shouldn't Entourage recognize this is in a different domain?  - Adressbook sync with Exchange broken in 10.4.2 I've been unable to sync my Addressbook with Exchange since moving to 10.4.x It worked fine in 10.3.9. Although my ISP (WinISP) did move buildings recently and things weren't working right for a while. Now I can connect to WinISP with Entourage 2004 but I can't sync with Addressbook. I have it setup in Addressbook options and my credentials are supposedly accepted but I don't see the Exchange option in iSync and nothing shows up in the iSync log when syncing.  - Entourage 2004 Losing Email I received the following from one of my customers. ----- I have emails disappearing from my Inbox. Today I searched and foun an attachment that I needed to forward to someone for a job I'm workin on. I forwarded it, which somehow forwarded some other irrelevant emai with no attachment. I went to send it again, and the email is no longe in my inbox or anywhere to be found. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I NEED THI RESOLVED IN ORDER TO DO BUSINESS. ------ We are running courier imap on our backend with Maildir's. I'm at m wit's end trying to figure this problem out. We thought it was th server software so we changed imap server's completely and went t courier. The problem is still occuring. Has anyone else seen thi problem? And before anyone suggests rebuilding the entourage database we've done that.  - Groups in Global Address Book in Entourage I work at a major university and we are having a big problem with Entourage in regards to its exchange connectivity and I hope someone can help me. Basically, the exchange connectivity works fine except I have NO idea how to bring up global address book as we were able to in Outlook 2001 for os 9. I know I can type in the person's name and click on Check Names but the huge drawback to that is that it misses all of our groups in the global address book. I can type in "history" or "as" and click on check names but it finds nothing at all. If i type in "as" (arts and sciences) in my Windows Outlook 2003 computer, it finds all the groups that have AS in their name, but nothing shows up on Entourage. What am I missing and how can I resolve this? This is extremely important as we are trying to migrate all of our faculty and staff over to os 10 and Office 2004 for Mac and its a huge oversight if they (users) can't bring up their groups in the address book.  - Entourage 2004 crash on start up Running Jaguar I recently installed Office 2004 and all the updates through 11.1.0 o my wife's B&W G4 and it's been running fine. Last night Entourag wouldn't start up, crashing immediately and giving me the 'Microsof Entourage has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorr for the inconvenience' dialog. No error number reported. Firefox won't start either, for some reason, crashing immediately However, Safari will run. Word 2004 seems to load and run fine. Here is what I have tried: -started Entourage with shift key down. Result: Entourage still crashes. -started Entourage with the option key down to rebuild the database Result: still crashes. - moved the Main Identity out of the Office 2004 Identities folder t attempt to get fresh start. Result: crashes - reinstalled from CD just Entourage and ran all the current update again.  - Synchronising via Bluetooth directly to Entourage Hi All, I currently synchronise my contacts and diary on my cell phone (a Motorola V600) to Enourage via bluetooth. This currently involves at least a two stepp process. Firstly I synchronise Entourage to iCal using the "Sync Entourage - iCal" Script. Then I use iSync to synchronise iCal and the address book (not using the entourage one) to the phone. This places any changes in the address book or on my diary onto the phone. If I have changed anything in my diary on the phone, I would need to run the script again to get iCal and Entourage back into sync. This is getting tedious. I understand that a link between iSync and Entourage is currently on the development with Microsoft - solving my problem, but I have not idea how long this will take to come through. Any ideas on how to simplify this matter? I am running a Powerbook G4, OSX 10.4.2, Microsoft Office 2004 and Sync Entourage-iCal 2.0.1 for Tiger.  - Moving junk mail that contains only a graphic "text" file I have a question concerning junk mail for which the body looks like text but which really is just a graphic (.gif or .jpg). The junk mail idiots have found a way to get email to my InBox (as opposed to Entourage classifying it as junk), and there's no way to set a rule on the sender basis because they change them all the time. Meanwhile, the body of the email contains nothing but a graphic file that looks like text.  - A (less than perfect) "Solution" to Printing Outlook-style "Address Cards" in Entourage I have asked here in the past about printing "address cards" like one does in Outlook when now in Entourage. I have worked through a sort of fix that might be of help. In Outlook I could print something called "address cards" and would have basic info from each record printed in two columns. Of course Entourage ( I use Entourage 2004 for Mac) doesn't have that option but here is my solution: =B7 In your address book click "print" =B7 On the print page: =B7 Print "all contacts" =B7 Style "address book" =B7 Form "default 8.5 x 11 =B7 The program wants to print my 344 records on 96 pages with a huge white space on the right. So ... =B7 Under the Form box click on the "edit" button =B7 I took all margins to 0" and changed the "form dimensions" to 4=2E2" wide and 15" high and click ok - the preview will show tthat the page will now print two columns - so the 96 pages are down to 48 =B7 Back on the print page click beside "copies and pages" and switch to "layout" =B7 Under "layout" I went to 2 pages per sheet =B7 Now when you print it will print landscape with four columns - two from each page - on the sheet. So my 96 pages are now 24. And if I want to print double sided the "paper handling" box lets me print all odd then all even and switch order if needed. So I could get down to 12 pieces of paper if I needed. The print is a bit small but not tiny - my old eyes can still read. Not the most elegant solution but a big help to me that I thought I'd share. That said I turn on my computer every day and curse Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and those clowns who designed Office for the Mac with the same programs as Office for Windows except for Outlook / Entourage. In my switch to Mac it was Entourage - especially importing and manipulating the contacts - that has given me the most trouble. I have a friend who says that Microsoft did it on purpose just as a way to kick Mac. I say "a pox on all their houses."  - re-installed OSX, now Entourage doesn't work Entourage opens, it displays emails previously received, but when I try to do anything I get the message "Could not open that feature. Unknown error (16008) occurred." Help! Any ideas on how to fix this? For some inexplicable reason, I can't find my product key for my software--I always save the stickers, put them on the disk, keep another copy--and all I have is the disk. Trouble in mac paradise.  - Yet another "rule not working" post System is G4 PowerPC, OS X (10.3.5), Entourage 10.1.4. Mail server is POP. I'm helping a friend (e.g., it's his laptop). I'm not in front of it at the moment, so I apologise if I get the exact working of things incorrect. At first, there were no rules (and had never had any). I created a rule that said (paraphrasing) "if any header contains '****' then move message to SpamFolder". This didn't work, either automatically or if I ran it manually. After some experimenting with a rule like "if any header contains "****" then add the text string '[SPAM]' to the subject", I have found this: If the rule says: "header contains '****' then move message", the message doesn't move. If the rule says "header contains '****' then modify subject", the subject gets rewritten. If the rule says: "header contains '****' then (1) move message and (2) modify subject", the subject gets rewritten but the message doesn't move. If the rule says: "header contains '****' then (1) modify subject and (2) move message", the subject gets rewritten but the message doesn't move. In all cases, I'm running the rule manually. I read through all the "rules don't work" messages posted in this newsgroup in the last year or two, and didn't see anything exactly like this. I didn't find anything at http://www.entourage.mvps.org/rules/ that looked like it would help with this problem. If anyone has a suggestion, I'd be grateful.  - Entourage<-> Palm Hi, how can I change the settings, so that Entourage (current version) will synchronize my Palm T3 data. Prsently, it will synch everything except address-data which have previously been changed on the Palm. It will accept completely new data, but no changes.  - Extra spaces in outgoing message subjects around umlauted characters Hello, I have had this odd behaviour with my Entourage 2004 (on 2005 12" PB 1,5GHz w/ 1,25Mb memory running on 10.4.2): Every time I send out messages that have umlaut characters such as =E4=F6=C4=D6 (there is no way around this since I am a Finn), Entourage adds blank space before or after umlauted letters (could be with other special characters as well). Example: Original subject: Spam-filtterin s=E4=E4t=E4minen tiukemmalle Subject after going through a mailing list (thats why the prefix [Rankat]): [Rankat] Spam-filtterin s =E4=E4 t =E4 minen tiukemmalle It seems that this happens only to messages that I create since if the subject already has umlauted characters and I just reply to them this does not happen. This has probably everything to do with differences in how Mac and Win systems handle other than basic 7bit ASCII charachters, because about 99,9% of people around here use Windows.  - Backing out from Entourage Mac 2004 to Entourage Mac X Hi, I have a client who has just bought a few G5 iMacs with OS X 10.4.2 and Office 2004. They are in an office with a Xserve running 104.2. server. No one is running home drictories or NAV. The older machines in the office running either 10.4.2 or 10.3.9 and Office X have no issues, but the Office 2004 machines have problems saving word documents (various errors about not enough memory, too many documents open, lost connection to the server - all spurious). Also Office 2004 is not executing common Autotext entries like Office X I have enough copies of Office X to backout from Office 2004 to Office X but I'm concerned about the Entourage 2004 database files. Are they compatible with Office X (once the identities folder is renamed) or is some conversion process required or am I unable to roll back to Office X? I have some troubles with using subject.

Our company using public folder feature to share files and messages
accross network. There are no problems with messages in public folders
but files are not visible. In Entourage Help written: " Only e-mail
messages will appear. Other item types that might be in the public
folder, such as Calendar events or tasks, will not appear in
Entourage". Is there are any ways to make files in public folders
visible?

When someone user sents the Calendar Event with some comments in
message body to other users, the user of Entourage 2004 are unable to
see message body? Any idea to fix it?

We are using 10.3.9 with Russian primary language script. When i setup
primary language script to English some old messages are download to
users inbox folder. There are any depends of PrimaryLanguegeScript in
Entourage?

With the current version of Entourage there is no support of non-email items
in public folders. However it has been promised that we will see an
"improved public folder experience" in an update to entourage due to be
released later this year. So, please, hold your breath...
