 - One-Time Return Receipt? I've been sending return receipts by doing this procedure: 1. Tools --> Accounts 2. Select account. 3. Select Options tab. 4. Create additional header: Disposition-Notification-to: with value equal to my e-mail address. 5. Compose and send a message. 6. Repear process but instead of Step 4, remove the additional header.  - Entourage locks domain account Here is the issue we are running into. We are installing Mac OS 10.2.8 on new Powerbooks. We are also installing Microsoft office and including the updates through 10.1.5.. Since we have done this, and configured Entourage to work with Exchange 2000 on an Active Directory network, we've run into the following problem. The users domain account will lock out periodically. We unlock the account and they are fine for an indeterminate amount of time. Some go for weeks without a problem others just days. And in every case the account usually gets locked out after initial configuration of Entourage X. Here is a list of software that is installed on the macs Adobe Photoshop 7.01 Adobe Illustrator 10.03 Adobe Indesign 2 Adobe Acrobat 6 Microsoft MSAUM for Jaguar Mac Antivirus Ver. 9.0 Is there a setting in Entourage X that needs to be set that I may be overlooking. Once we have unlocked the account, all the exchange functionality works fine, albeit until their account locks out again. One thing to note. During testing, I had a user setup identical to the above with out setting up Entourage. In its place we setup MS Outlook 2001 in MAC Classic.  - error 4326 Hi, I am currenly getting an error #4326 when I try to send and receive email. I have a message in my outbox which will not appear in the folder list. It is like it is invisible but still shows that there is a message there. The problem started when I emptied my trash box while sending an email. I know the problem could be fixed if I could delete the message in the outbox - problem is that I have no way of selecting it as is currently does not display. I have tried to use a schedule to delete the message and that did not work as well. To send emails I have to do each one manually. Any ideas what I can do?  - Entourage locks up; I have to quit and reopen. Approximately every 20 minutes, Entourage stops receiving email. The candy stripe progress bar in the lower right corner freezes and says "0 of . . . ". The only dure is to quit the application. When you invoke the quit command, you get this message: "Are you sure you want to quit? A network operation is in progress.". After you say "yes", the application quits. Then, after you reopen the application and select "send and receive", mail is retrieved normally (and automatically too) for the next, say, 20 minutes until you have to repeat this process again.  - Need to find folder in backup for 2nd Entourage user First of all, I backed up the Microsoft User Data folder. Now I have separated my parents into two users on Mac OS 10.3, so they each have their own Entourage pages in their own accounts. No problems there except, my father's subfolder -- with all his critical corespondence -- is missing its contents. The folder itself is there, but it's empty. Where do I go to recover this data from my backup? Where do I plug it in? I'm guess I did something by accident, but all the other things transferred over without a problem such as the Inbox, etc. I need to find the content of this folder even if it means importing or dragging all the data again.  - Label question I'm helping a friend transition to a new iBook running OS10 from her old iMac running OS9. One of the few issues remaining is address labels. She was using an AppleScript that would print address labels based on the selected entries in her address book. This script requires Akua Sweets, which I cannot get to load on her OS10 box (I keep getting a message about needing "classic" loaded). Our first attempt to get around this was to use the MailMerge feature of Word X, but it doesn't meet her needs because the MailMerge seems to only account for a contact being in a single category and the Export Entourage X script uses delimiters that MailMerge doesn't recognize, so we're back to square one. I'm a proficient programmer on the PC platform, but have not done any programming for Mac. My thought is that I need a script to do the following: 1. Delete a certain file if it already exists 2. Create an empty file 3. Write each selected contact (with delimiters that can be recognized by MailMerge) out to the file 4. Kick off Word opening a new document based on a template with the MailMerge set to read the desired file Can anybody help get me there or give a better suggestion?  - Entourage keeps crashing !!! I am running Entourage X on OS X Jaguar - Powerbook G4. Ever since this afternoon the Sent Items screen is showing only a couple of e-mails (the last ones sent) followed by a blank banner in the upper window. The e-mails are there (if you click on the blank banner you will see the contents on the lower window). If I go down the upper window the blank banner gets sometimes bigger but sometimes it disappear. Problem is that seconds after that the program crashes. I tried to reinstall it and things got worse.  - Increasing database size is causing problems I am getting a regular crash/prompt to re-build the database. Does anyone know why it is that even after a re-build and removal of emails over a month old (with attachments) the size of the database folder (located in Documents / Microsoft user data / Office X identities / Main identity) does not get any smaller.  - BUG: Important emails missing in list of received emails I teach a class via the internet and it is important for me to see the emails my students send to me. Entourage (v10.1.4 running on Mac OS X.2.8) sometimes does not list emails from some of my students that I KNOW are in the folder or inbox. If I relied on Entourage to tell me what emails are there on the campus Exchange server, I would be misled. This is unacceptable! I have checked that my filtering options are blank so it should list ALL of the emails in the folder. I have also tried inputting the students names and email addresses in the filtering option to see if the emails would appear. How do I know the emails are actually there? When I access my email on our campus Exchange server via the web (Outlook Web Access), I can see all of the emails, including the ones that Entourage will not show me. It is NOT the same students that don't get displayed each time, it is random.  - Making Entourage Commands Speakable like OSX MAIL already is Hi there. I am wondering about whether I can make my Entourage X mail program speakable. I know that MAIL (which came with OSX) is speakable and has several commands you can speak e.g, get mail, open new message, make bold, forward message...etc. I ahve tried it and I enjoy how it works but I prefer Entourage instead. Is there a way to set up these types of speakable commands (open new message/forward message/send reply/delete message/move to trash/ etc. etc.) in Entourage? I read some of the help menus but I'm confused (looks like i need to write commands in apple script?...not sure how) Any help greatly appreciated!  - Recent unusual spam messages Has anyone else seen the recent torrent of email spam from someone who is sending out HTML emails that purport to be from Microsoft and have EXE attachments that purport to be security patches? I have been getting these at the rate of 50/day. I've written rules that immediately delete them, but it's getting to be a concern that maybe my address book is infected with something the way it happens to Windows users. Also, I have been receiving messages that are apparently completely empty of all data. There's nothing to view as source, there's no addressee, no sender, no message subject or body.  - Entourage Password Error I am lost and looking for help. I have a few users on my network that are getting this error message. It says: "The server for your account returned the error 'logon failed--unknown user name or bad password.' Your username/password settings or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?" I've reinstalled Office X and the patch. I deleted the prefs numerous times. I even deleted the account off the exchange server and recreated it. There has to be a file I am missing that is corrupt on the Mac. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? The way I resolved it the first time was to wipe out the mac.  - Entourage problem with SpamSieve System: Entourage X (with service release 1), OS 10.2.8. Problem: Entourage rule does not recognize seems to forget an Apple Script. Details: I am trying out SpamSieve at the moment. The problem seems to be related to how I synchronize my home and office machines. I use the program Synchronize! X Plus to synchronize my work computer with a flash memory thingee (don't know what to call it, but it' not the problem), which is what I transfer the information on, and then synchronize my home computer with the thingee; and vice versa. What I synchronize is my Microsoft User Data folder within which is also included my SpamSieve folder (so that I have the same set of rules for both computers, it is aliased to its proper location on each computer) and my Word My Templates folder. What happens is that when I receive mail the first time after synchronizing to the new machine I get the following message (and for each piece of mail not in my address book): Error: The rule "SpamSieve - Move if Spam" could not be successfully executed. Explantion: The AppleScript could not be found. Edit rule and reselect the script. When I edit the message next to the Script button following the Run Apple Script action says 'none selected' but when I hit the Script button the right folder is there, the proper script (Move if spam) is in it, and when I select it it runs fine. The Word templates work fine and have never caused me problems, so I can't figure out what is going on. Any help is much appreciated (I have sent a similar message to the SpamSieve people, but this seems to be more of an Entourage than a SpamSieve issue to me). -- Robert M. Although sometimes it is capable to down > 10 mb of files but last couple of days it is not downloading.  - Entourage has stopped getting my Hotmail For some reason, Entourage stopped retrieving my Hotmail yesterday. It says "The server for your account returned the error 'logon failed--unknown user name or bad password.' Your username/password settings or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?" Re-entering the password makes no difference. I can access my hotmail from the hotmail web page with no problem. My other (non-hotmail) mail accounts continue to work just fine. I am running OS 10.2.8. I updated the Office software (up through 10.1.5) but the problem still persists. I also rebuilt the database.  - Entourage vX sync problem with Treo 600 (Palm OS 5.2.1) Hello... I hope someone can help. I'm trying to sync my Handspring Treo (running Palm OS 5.2.1) to my Entourage vX (v10.1.4), via my Macintosh ibook 800 (dual USB) running 10.2.8 in 640 MB RAM. I have previously had no difficulties syncing a Handspring Visor Prism. With my (new!) Treo 600, I can only sync the Calendar (what used to be known as Datebook on earlier versions of the Palm OS). My Memos, Contacts and To Do List doesn't get transferred. Yes, the conduit is set to synchronise everything. Yes, I have reinstalled the latest version of HotSync Mngr (V3.1). Yes I have reinstalled the MS HandHeld Sync (for 10.1.4). Watching my Treo's display during a Hotsync, the process simply doesn't dwell on the unsync'd (!) elements long enough, although the hotsync log on both devices simply says 'ok' for each sync element. Please, please, please - can anyone help?  - Applescript: Forward message to another ISP OK Paul, here's my problem. I'm receiving spam through one account and need to forward it through another account. I have a working script but it sends the spam to the same ISP it came from which then errors unless I change the account manually. I can say: set newMsg to make new outgoing message at out box folder with properties {account:theAccount} and the new message goes to the desired ISP, but this doesn't work for a forwarded message. The inbox for my .mac email account shows one message present, but I can't
find any messages at all. I've tried deleting all of the messages, but even
then it shows that there is a message there. I'd like to fix this, but don't
know how. Any help would be appreciated.

With the inbox selected, hit cmd-L. If that doesn't clear it, then Cmd-Opt-L
probably will.
