Did the problem start after you updated iTunes and QT? If yes, you were bit
by the update. You'll need to install the latest Apple combo. Even if the
problem isn't related to the updates, sometimes installing the Apple combo
will fix underlying problems with Entourage. It won't hurt anything so I
would try this first.

That's correct behavior.

This doesn't sound like typical database corruption problems. I'm going to
suggest a couple of things to try.
1. Delete Entourage preferences. You can just drag them to the desktop and
zip them. You'll find a list here:

2. Use "Remove Office" and reinstall from CD then update.
