A few weeks ago someone posted what I though was a good suggestion on
how to deal with incoming messages that hang up Entourage. I failed to
save the suggestion. How about a repeat??

Just received another html message from directron.com and that causes
ENT to freeeze.

If the message has already been received - meaning you can launch and use
Entourage otherwise, turn off your Preview Pane (View > Preview Pane) and
delete the message.

If Entourage is freezing while actually downloading the message, you may
want to delete it through some other method for accessing your email, such
as Webmail.

Adam,

There is no problem downloading the message and I do not use the
Preview. The problem is when I click on the message from directron.com
I get the spinning beach ball of death and Entourage hangs. The ONLY
escape is to use the OSX Force Quit.

BTW, I dragged the bad file from the inbox to the desktop and change
the open with from Entourage to Mail and it opens okay. There is
something in the directron.com html that trashes Entourage.

Just clicking on it once? That doesn't make sense - just highlighting a
message doesn't cause Entourage to interact with it. Is it at all possible
that you're either double-clicking, or the preview pane *is* open but -
perhaps - is hidden?

That may very well be possible.

I'll be glad to redirect the message to you so you can see how it brings
Entourage to its hands and knees. There is not a virus or anything like
that in the message. It is a weekly sales notice from Directron.com

let me know what email address to use?
