 - Help Restarting Entourage Sounds In anticipation of the arrival of OSX 10.5 this weekend I did some housekeeping by trashing old user preference files. After restarting my Entourage 2004 v11.3.6 is muted. I went to the Ent General Preferences/Notifications and everything looks okay but NOTHING happens when I click on the speaker icons next to the Microsoft Sound Set Can someone tell what preference file I may have trashed by mistake and I may be able to find it on my backup drive.  - =?Utf-8?Q?calender:_default_doesn=C2=B4t_synchr?= I have the strangest problem with my calendar-appointments and our exchange server. I work both at home and at the office. Appointments added at home didnÂ´t show up at work, but all appointments added at the office showed up fine. (Contacts worked both ways.) My solution was to add a new calendar to Entourage. It has the same path on (to?) our Exchange server but - magic! - all appointments I add no matter where get synchronized. So now my problem is that I would like to get rid of the default calender and set my new calender as default. (And I would love to know why the heck this is happening ...)  - How change default size of windows of previously created Tasks? With Entourage 11.3.6 and OS 10.4.10, after enlarging the Mac display size temporarily, and then changing it back, all my previously created Task windows ran over the dock.  - Color Code Calendar for Recurring Occasions and edit one Occasion I am trying to figure out how I can color code the background of my calendar. I am aware that as I enter occasions those ocassions can be color coded and grouped but that isn't what I am talking about. Is there away that I can change the background color even when no occasions are booked. For example, when I looked at a blank calendar 8am - 10 am background color would be purple 10am - 12 noon background color would be red. Is that possible? The reason I am asking this is the following. I am trying to color coordinate my calendar with work I am doing. What I have been doing is putting in recurring occasions. For example 8am - 10am is purple and that is for phone calls and every day 8am - 10am is color coded purple because I put it as a reoccuring occasion. The only problem with this is when I go to edit one occassion during that time it doesn't allow me to edit the name or title so I can't specify what phone calls I need to make that day. is there a way around that?  - alert sound repeats I'm using Entourage 2004 (vers. 11.3.6) and enjoy using the sound sets for the alert sounds. However, for some reason the alert sounds now repeat. If there is new mail, I hear something like "You've got mail!" ... "You've got mail!". Frankly, I need help with this. I need help with this! I only need to hear the alert sound once.  - Missing email... On October 8, I had to do a clean install of Tiger on my master HD on my Macintosh G4. I backed up my important data on my second HD before I did the install, including my MUD folder. After I copied all of my user info back on my main HD, I opened Entourage X. I only had email from October 2005 to July 2006. My database, which was created on July 1, 2006, was last modified on September 29, 2007. Why would it show dates from the past?  - Font size problems with Hotmail and Entourage I've had this problem for a long time and finally figured out a fix: When I reply, using Entourage, to HTML mail sent to my Hotmail account, the person receiving it would always complain that the font was inexplicably large. Huge actually. 72 pt or more. I figured out that I was using Gil Sans as my default font for HTML mail and that by changing my default to a font more common (in this case Trebuchet MS) the problem disappeared and the HTML I sent via Entourage and my Hotmail account showed up correctly with the normal sized font.  - Receiving duplicate emails/incomplete emails in INBOX I've been having trouble more often lately receiving duplicate emails in my INBOX. I get 2 copies of the email listed, only one is a complete message download, and when I delete it later it does not leave my INBOX. It will not allow me to download the rest of the email and I can't seem to "clean up" my INBOX of these duplicate messages. Any ideas? I have an IMAP account, connected to my university email server.  - E2004: Repost. Extra spaces added when Outlook users quote me. I hope the list will indulge this repost. One of the more irritating aspects of Entourage 2004 is the extra spaces that get added to my text, when it's quoted back at me by Outlook users! If I send a message to another Entourage user, they can reply with the full body of my message quoted and the character-spacing is faithful to the original. With Outlook users, extra spaces appear in the text and... ...it looks like I can't type properly! Can anyone else duplicate this behaviour? It's had me using "plain text" email for the last few years, because it looks so bad. And it's nothing to do with kerning. There are extra spaces being added.  - entourage...rules Hi I've been using entourage for a while now without any significant problems; anyhow - yesterday the database sent a message saying it needed to be rebuilt - which i did.  - Blank received field Hi, The received field is blank for some (but not all) of the e-mails that I have sent with Entourage. It is for my work e-mail via an exchange server and when I got to the office MS Outlook showed the received time, so there must be a setting or something in Entourage that I need to change.  - Error 4362 I'm running an early MacBook Pro, Mac OSX 10.4.10. I use Microsoft Entourage X, version 10.1.6. Today, I went to my Deleted Items folder to retrieve a message I'd accidentally deleted. There was nothing there, even though it was in bold with a (2) after it indicating at least 2 unread messages were in it. I clicked in the field and got the following message; Action could not be cmpleted. An unknown error (4362) occurred. i'm not sure if I've received a virus or if there's a problem with the program.  - Hotmail Inbox Issue Hi all, I apologize if starting a new post was the wrong thing to do but my issue seems to be a bit different than the other posts I have seen on this same topic. So the basic issue is that some of my messages from my Hotmail Inbox are being moved to my local folder inbox but it seems to be a very select few. Basic setup: Entourage 11.3.6 on OS 10.4.9 4 accounts: GMail (POP) as main/default, exchange account, AOL (IMAP), Hotmail The issue: I have noticed two instances where the item from the hotmail folder was moved to my local inbox. Instance #1: I received an email with both my hotmail and GMail addresses as recipients and found I had two identical messages in my local inbox. One was the GMail address, the other was the hotmail address. Instance #2: I wanted to have access via to a Powerpoint file in case something happens to my flash drive. So I sent my self an email in Entourage using my GMail account as my sender address and my Hotmail as my recipient. Initially the message appeared in the hotmail inbox. However when I replied to it (so the conversation would be readily accesible via the GMail web interface) and it was recieved in Entourage, the message from the hotmail inbox was moved to the local inbox. Prior to these two instances, I had not seen this behavior at all. The only the other piece of information I can offer is that both of these instances occurred after my account had been upgraded to the new Live version of Hotmail. I should point out that I have been using Outlook and Entourage to access my FREE hotmail account for many years because my account was grandfathered into their current policy of prohibiting access to the free accounts. (Entourage maintained the main folders but none of the subfolders). I have tons of subflders and would like to just select all the appropriate sub folders and move/drag them to their main folder however, i am not able to select more than one item at a time. Specifically, I'm attempting to share a subfolder in my Inbox, and a sub-address book located in my main Contacts.  - Problem opening entourage 2004 Ive got a message saying 'unable to open, rebuild' when I try to open entourage. I've done this several times (using the check option and then rebuilding) but it hasn't worked. Now it's saying there's not enough memory to do it any more. Any advice on where to go from here? Software Versions: Macintosh Entourage 2004 Version : 11.3.6 Mac OS Versions tested with same results : 10.3.9, 10.4.10 Exchange 2003 : version 6.5 (Build 7638.2: Service Pack 2) Entourage Issue: * User A sends out a meeting appointment to a global Distribution List X. * User B is a member of the Distribution List X. * User B received the meeting invite via the Distribution List X. * User B's appointment time is not displayed correctly in Entourage. The appointment will appear 1 hour early. If it is in Day Light Saving time, the appointment will appear 1 hour late. * This display issue applies when viewing in Entourage only. If User B logs in via Outlook Web Access or Outlook 2003, the appointment is displayed in the correct time slot. * This display issue applies only when User A and User B are both in the same Exchange mailstore.  - Mail could not be received at this time I get this wonderful message from Entourage every few months. Currently it's for an e mail account that has been working fine for several weeks without issue. I go to the advanced settings and uncheck to require authentication. No luck. I'm out of ideas, I've never licked this permanently yet. Strangely, it seems through tests, I send and receive fine in practice actually, but when I click that send/receive button, this always come up know, so it's the Entourage super nuisance.  - All Exchange Calendar Info is Missing after Entourage Database Replace Exchange 2003 Entourage 2004 running on 10.4.10 clients Clients were having some problem with Network Mobile accounts which precipitated re-creating local home accounts. i made the mistake of not backing up Entourage Database before getting new info from server. I thought, "No problem, it Exchange, all the data is stored on the server and i will simply re-download all info from there." i setup the exchange server and the sync occurred, inbox and all the user's folders repopulated, contacts look good...but the calendar is empty. not a single entry. if another user connects to this user's folder and attempts to browse calendar she sees nothing. the Entourage database rebuilt itself back to 1.5 Gb handily. however, when i right click on the calendar in Entourage and select Folder Properties --> Storage it lists the size as 2293 kb. this is comparable to other users in the org. i think the data is there, but not showing up...rephrased, i hope to god the calendar is there and not showing up for some reason. i am pretty sure the calendar is stored on the exchange server and not on the client...true? thoughts?  - Microsoft Office for Mac I have been using the Microsoft Office products for Mac for approximately 4 months with great success, however, yesterday some strange things have started to happen with these products on both my desktop Mac and my Imac notebook. The main issue is that the programmes shut themselves down automatically while you are working and at other times the screen freezes and you only get the colour wheel turning and the only way to continue is to force quite the programme. This has been happening with both Entourage and Excel. Anybody else experiencing these problems.  - Duplicate Spotlight results from Entourage and Apple apps Is there a way to restrict Spotlight to returning address or calendar results from Entourage only - not from iCal or Apple Contacts? Any person search seems to bring up multiple duplicate entries from Apple contacts as well as the same entry from Entourage Address book (same thing for iCal and Entourage). Isn't there a way to specify that I want Entourage results only? If I uncheck contacts or Calendar from the Spotlight preferences, I don't get ANY address or calendar results returned.  - sending and receiving from entourage Hello i am a new macbook pro user in Bejing where there is no support I transferred files from Outlook to Entourage--docments, addresses and the like. I have email through Yahoo and Mac Mail. I cannot sent a file from Entourage. The prompt that pops up says that Entourage does not recognize a secure servr which I believe is Yahoo. At other times I get a prompt that says I can sent through macmal os2x but I cannot find a way to link the say word file in Entourage for sending that route either. I can send from word with cut and paste. But Outlook was so streamlined I could just send. Apple in the US says call an 800 number.  - Entourage doesn't display folders Hello Strange problem appeared recently. Entourage doesn't keep anymore the setting that displays the folders (in the display menu) so it's necessary to set it after each launch. Same problem on 3 Macs in different locations (they use the same database located on an external HD and reached via aliases).  - cannot move bulk/junk message I received a [bulk] message today in Entourage, so I tried to move it to the junk folder. However, each time I tried to either move it or even delete it, a prompt appeared: "The action could not be completed. An unknown error (16002) has occurred." I was able to delete other messages, or move them to the junk folder. I even exited Entourage and restarted it. But this one won't budge. How can I get rid of the troublesome message? Thanks!  - Problems with Entourage database. Dear members: Last night a message appeared on screen stating that my Entourage database was damaged and asking if I wished to have it repaired. The same message had appears approximately 1 week ago but I chose not to rebuild the database at the time. Last night after reading the message for the second time I decided to act on it. I first backed the entire MUD folder to another disk and then proceeded to repair the database. The process was quite time consuming (I had it done using my 3-year old Powerbook G4) but at the end a message was displayed stating that the repair procedure was successful. After the database was rebuilt I launched Entourage and noticed that it didn't not return to the same state it was in prior to the rebuilding process. Many e-mails that had already been read were marked as not read, the settings for my newsgroups had been lost and (worst of all) many e-mails had been moved to different folders. Also some of the e-mails that had already been downloaded were downloaded a second time from my mail server. I thought the problem had been addressed but the same message that appeared before just now appeared again stating that there is a problem with my database. After running the database utility it failed to acknowledge any problems and stated that the database is functioning properly. What generated the initial message ? Is it possible that it may have been wrong just as it is now ? In case this is what happened I would like to go back to my backed-up database as the new one (the one after the rebuild process) has been altered and some information has been lost. Any ideas ?  - Assigning Categories Hello I would like to assign a newly created category to a number of emails. These are located in various subfolders within one main folder. Is there a way for me to assign a category to all emails in every subfolder within a folder? Or do I have to assign every subfolder and all emails separately? I know I can "select all" emails within a subfolder and assign the category to all those, but I am wanting to assign this new category to thousands of emails. Surely there must be a way to select a folder and tell Entourage to apply the category to the folder and all of its contents, including subfolders? Grrrr....  - Please help: Select Entourage Calendar...database daemon takes Running Entourage 11.3.6 (fully updated). When I select the calendar (or projects), first just the date (October 2007) paints on screen - and then the app hangs. The database daemon maxes the CPU. Entourage is frozen, and I have to quit the daemon from the Activity Monitor. If I don't select the calendar, email works fine (and notes and tasks). Running Mac OS10.4.10 Rebooting doesn't help. Disabling notifications and all sync services does not help. Database Utility reports no problems with the database. Help!!!! Leading up to the problem, I was trying to newly sync my iCal to Entourage. I had just labeled all the events I wanted in Entourage to the Entourage "category" in iCal. And I turned on Sync Services for iCal inside of Entourage. Also, just recently added a MS Exchange email account, although this problem did not occur right after this. Welcome any help.  - Accessing Mail and Calendar from more than 1 computer I admit I'm kind of ignorant on some issues. I use Entourage for my e- mail. I also use two computers - one at work and one in home office. Once e-mail is collected by entourage on one of the computers, it is gone from the server and can not be acessed by the other computer through enourage OR the server. Can I turn off the ³protection² of not downloading pictures in my emails that is for my own privacy? Most of my emails come in and it is annoying to have to press the download pics button just to see the proper email. I know it shouldn¹t be a big deal, but I¹m looking for a job and even careerbuilder and TheLadders emails have little icons and pics on them and it doesn¹t get past the app. I looked in preferences but am obviously missing it. Hi, I'm using Entourage 2004 to access my Hotmail account and I was wondering if there was a way to automatically delete items in the 'Deleted Items' folder? When I select 'Schedules' (under Tools) the 'Empty Deleted Items Folder' only works for folders on my computer and I cannot set it to folders on my Hotmail account. Attachments are stored in a folder named Entourage Temp in the Microsoft
User Data folder. Check this folder. It's possible that the permissions have
been reset.

I would test in a new User. Go to System Preferences and create a new User.
Open Entourage and enter your account info. Test downloading a message with
an attachment. Does it work? If yes, then there is a problem in your User's
account.
