Hello, I am having a strange issue. We have an exchange 2000 server
which will be upgrading here soon. We have a MAC user that uses
Entourage 2008, well it syncs fine and looks like it is running
great.

We have noticed though that it isnt receiving all the email. It doesnt
receive half the sharepoint announcements or even some email in the
internal contacts. So we have to load up OWA once in while to see what
emails he is missing. It doesnt make much since to me. I have added
the internal domain to safe senders to see if that would be the
problem, but that didnt seem to help, any ideas?

Hi Grant!

Have a look at my recent blog post for some ideas:

"Optimize Entourage to better work with Exchange"
<http://blog.entourage.mvps.org/2008/03/optimize_entourage_to_better_work_with_exchange.html>

The fact that it is receiving *anything* means that your networking is
fine. I suspect you have the wrong server selected.

Hope this helps!

Well I have been doing some research and looks like it is something to do with the communication with the webdav maybe, reason I am suspecting is because the same user with that mailbox has a phone that syncs via the OWA settings as well. Entourage does the same technically. I wonder if there is a certian subject/body it isnt liking and not forwarding through that service? It seems very strange. The exact same emails dont get sent to his phone or his entourage client.

We figured it out, URLScan was filtering "." and "&" in the subject lines.

Thanks for the feedback, Grant!

Microsoft does have a KB article about URLScan and tuning it for Entourage:

"Fine-tuning and known issues when you use the Urlscan utility in an
Exchange 2003 environment"
<http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823175>

It doesn't address your issue but may be worth reviewing.
