 - Error: 10001 in Entourage X Here's the scoop. I have successfully configured Entourage to connect to our Exchange 2000 Server. I have all functionality in every area except for two minor problems, Both are rather puzzling. First, when I search for a name on the GAL, it comes up with the following error message: LDAP Server Error, "The directory service was unable to perform the search" Error: 10001". Here's the really weird thing: It successfully searches the criteria entered and returns the names in the GAL, but still gives the error message. Second, I can successfully set up a meeting, however when a PC user sees the meeting request it shows up as a email, not a meeting request. They can reply, but it is treated as an email. The only thing that gives any indication here is that the meeting request shows up with an attachment labeled meeting.ics. I wonder if this is somehow related to the behavior I'm seeing with GAL, as in Entourage is not reading the LDAP server correctly. It is doing it to some degree but it seems to be missing something. When looking for free/busy time Entourage successfully sees who is free/busy. Anyone who hae any thoughts on this are most welcome to chime in. Please advise how someone using a Macintosh computer can manage another person's calendar and sync the other person's (Palm) PDA device to an Exchange 2003 server?  - Removing e-mail address I would appreciate any help anyone can give me on the following matter. I send e-mails to my business partner Kent every day. In the last week, an e-mail address for Kent Paris, "paris@interbusiness.it" showed up in my TO window when I type my business partner Kent's address. I do not know this individual, and I did not add them to my address book. This "paris@interbusiness.it" address is not in my address book, and when I try to remove it by saving it as a draft, then adding it to my address book and deleting it, it tells me that the TO address is not "paris@interbusiness.it", but rather my own e-mail address. Please advise the following issues; 1. How to get rid of this address "paris@interbusiness.it"? 2. Is it possible this individual is using my e-mail address to send e-mails from my account?  - Calendars not syncing I set up Entourage to sync with my exchange server and everything has = been=20 working fine. All of a sudden, I have noticed that my Entourage and=20 Exchange calendars are not in sync. I cant get them to sync. They were = in=20 sync a few weeks ago, but not now.  - All downloads done, can't sync Palm w/Entourage I've done all the downloads a while back and a month ago my Palm V stopped synching with my 12" PowerBook running the latest Panther (10.3.2). In my Library/Palm Hoysync/Conduits folder contain all the proper conduits (i.e., Backup conduit, Install conduit, Microsoft Entourage conduit and Notepad conduit). All the proper ones are also in the disabled folder (Address conduit,Datebook conduit, Memo conduit, and ToDo conduit. Yet when I hit HotSync on my hot sync cradle, nothing happens. I've even tried a 3rd party app called QueueSync2 with out results (it added more files to my Conduit folder). The strange thing is, my Palm syncs fine with my iMac running the 1st version of Panther, 10.3. All the conduits are in the exact same place as I mentioned above. All the settings are exact, including the "Identity" setting (set to "Main Identity on both machines. The last Hot Sync I was able to do on my PowerBook was 11/11/03 and I think that it no longer worked after I updated to 10.3.1. Is this a known issue, and if so, what's the fix. Thanks in advance!  - Wow!! Hate to sound like a smart-alek, but this really surprises me. I just = started=20 using a G5 a few weeks ago, after being a dozen years removed from = Mac's.=20 I had been curious how to get better sounds attached to events on the = Mac=20 but had not yet invested much time in doing it. Its amazing to me that I can very simply change almost any sound=20 associated with almost any event in Windows XP, but I apparently have = to=20 jump through hoops to do it on the Mac???  - Viewing Calendar Event In Entrouarge X, when someone sends me a calendar event invatition, the body of the e-mail is blank. Entourage 2001 used to show, time, date, location and other info in the body of the e-mail. The only way to view the info is to double click on the e-mail and read it in the header.  - For Entourage problem stuffing attachments Alladin has a patch out for problems caused when installing Panther removes a Stuffit engine required by Entourage to compress outbound mail. The fix is at http://www.aladdinsys.com/support/techsupport/qanda.php?id=571&sessionid=64792 Worked for me, running 10.3.2 on an aluminum G4, even though I had Stuffit Deluxe 8.xx on the machine at the time.  - Uncheck Leave message on server Using Entourage X ver 10.0.0 (1429) on a trial basis before purchasing. OS is Panther. Under Tools>Accounts>Edit>Options>Server Options for the only email account on the system I am unable to uncheck the Leave Message on Server option. It's greyed and unselectable.  - Entourage no longer follows rules Using Entourage (v 10.1.4) on an iMac running Panther, I find that Entourage no longer follow Rules which I have established for most incoming mail and any outgoing mail. Worst of all instead of putting the typical incoming message in the InBox, Entourage now dumps that in a different folder (which I created) and therefore I risk miss seeing some incoming mail. I have eliminated any rule which would have directed mail to that folder, but to no avail. What should I do to re-establish the Rule of Rules on entourage?  - corrupt files I am running Entourage 2001 on a Mac G3 with system 9.2 Late last year, as a a result of a computer system total crash and other problems (which have since been fixed), two messages in my Inbox became corrupt. I have used a variety of methods to delete these messages, but I am coming up empty each time One message actually was a good message that became corrupt and is now a bunch of gibberish code. When I try to delete this file, Entourage gives me an out of memory error. I have 256K RAM, and I tried allocating all of the available memory to Entourage in an attempt to override this message. But that process did not work The second message shows up as an entirely blank line in my Inbox. Each time I have tried to delete the file, Entourage crashes, and I have to restart my computer I tried setting automatic deletion of old messages, using a schedule, but that process does not work I consulted tech people, and they have no clue Since individual messages are not separate files, I cannot delete the messages folder in the Microsoft User Data folder. I have a variety of local folders where numerous messages are archived during work on multiple projects. If I were to delete the messages folder, I would lose this valuable information Does anyone have any ideas? I tried posting this problem last Friday, but I never saw it come up in the discussion threads for Office Entourage for Mac. I apologize if this is a duplicate request.  - Deleted items folder problem I'm having trouble with this folder. Am using Entourage 10.1.4 on OS 10.1.5. LAtely the deleted items folder shows that there are, at first i, then 3 now 4 items to be deleted (These, by the way appear to be unread they are bold). When I go to the deleted iems folder, there ar NO items in there (are thery invisible?). Yesterday, whenever I went to the folder with the mouse pointer Entourage would "unexpectedly quit" Tried over and over, bu the same thing happens. What to do? Any ideas?  - entourage slow corrupt file? I think that my entourage database file has become slightly corrupted. I = have run the rebuild facility several times both ways. if I disable the=20 calendar syn it works perfectly, once i try and sync calendar it=20 effectively works but eventually the conduit crashes and the data has=20 synchronised but says it hasnt. also the desktop application is = painfully=20 slow in the calendar mode but fine elsewhere.  - Problems with Entourage crashing Fairly recently I started having problems with Entourage. It happened out of the blue, not when I'd changed anything that I could think of. The problems has evolved somewhat. At first I had data problems and couldn't rebuild, it said the data was corrupted. I went back to a backup and still have had problems. I even tried to start a new account them import my email messages and substitute my rules and signatures. When I do, it starts downloading all the messages on the server,normal I know. Then it just crashes. If I rebuild (advanced) it will open up and download a number of messages. Even after all messaages were download, it just keeps crashing. If I try to delete the messages I've imported from some of the files, it freezes or gives me a mail error.  - relentless spinning wheel Entourage often goes into a fugue state - a relentless spinning wheel that continues as long as I'll let it. Process viewer shows Entourage consuming from 80% to 97% of CPU time during this period. I can't do anything in Entourage or even bring an Entourage window to the front if it's behind another running app. Force quitting is the only thing that returns it. This can happen even when I'm doing nothing but reading a message. Two other small odd behaviors, probably unrelated but included just in case they provide clues for somebody wiser than I: (1) when it checks for new mail (IMAP) the selection in the inbox will often jump around, switching the message that I am currently reading in the main window. (b) it purges deleted messages on its own, even though I have set the preferences to the contrary. I'm running Entourage 10.1.4 on OS 10.2.8. Suggestions? Tag: Entourage and Exchange 2000 Tag: 33972

 - Identity can't be opened I have a Mac Powerbook G4 w 10.3.2 running MS Office X with upgrades. I also have a Mac G4 desktop w 10.3.2.  - Calendar Sync Help, I am trying to setup a PC user to use Entourage in Panther. We have everything working except for the calendar. His calendar will not sync with the Exchange server. We have been able to synchronize everything in my account on the same box but we can not sync his. We have made sure the account info is the same. We have tried resetting the sync and deleting and recreating the account but neither has worked. Does it matter if he already had a few items in his calendar before setting up an Exchange account?  - Junk mail insanity This is getting nuts. My junk mail filter is totally whacked. It is marking mail that IS in my address book or part of a mail rule as junk. The real junk mail which IS NOT in my address book or part of a mail rule is coming through as not junk. Is there a reverse button somewhere that I'm not aware of?  - Is there a maximum number of addresses you can send in one email in entourage?  - Importing Schedules Using "Calendar Import to X" Script Would like to import our athletic schedules to the Entourage Calendar, then post to the web. When using the Script "Calendar Import to X", I get an error message that You have either not selected your Calendar Export file or you have changed its name.  - autocapitalize after ellipses Is there any way to get Entourage to *not* automatically capitalize words after ellipses? I have them entered as an exception in autocorrect, and it works correctly in Word, but not in Entourage. That is, if I write: "sentence in which... items have been omitted."  - Importing TextEdit I had a major problem with Entourage (turned out to be a loss of power to my satellite connection while a message was being sent -- totally froze Entourage). Unfortunately, it took me a couple of days to trouble shoot the problem and I used mail.app to be manage my mail during this time. Now Entourage is up and running again, but my messages in mail hare a problem. There was no obvious way to export them to Entourage (or to import them into Entourage) so I forwarded them to myself. This leaves me with a lot of messages from myself instead of the original senders. In Outlook Express, I would save as SimpleText and reimport them (after deleting the "forward" information) Entourage does not seem to recognize anything that is saved in Text Edit. COuld you give us more details ???
Did you enter infrmations for all settings:
Exchange server
domain
LDAP
free/busy server

Did you specify to use SSL if your server requires it ?? What type of
error message do you get ??
