 - New Palm Conduit We really need an updated Palm conduit. Only being able to sync a single address per contact is totally unacceptable. Right there is no proper syncing on Mac either with Entourage (no multiple addresses) or Address Book (no categories).  - Entourage 2004 send mail problem My Entourage 2004 works great with our Exchange; except in allowing me=20 to send email. I get Error: -18597; HTTP error. Access to the resource = is=20 forbidden.  - Error -18597 I have a user who is testing Entourage 2004 as an upgrade from Entourage X. The desktop OS is 10.3.4, server is Exchange 2003 on a Win 2000 server. This user has a Treo phone and in his old version of Entourage he set up a rule to redirect certain mail to an outside e-mail account. Worked fine. New version of Entourage moves the message to the outbox but never delivers it to the outside account, erroring out with the following: HTTP error. Access to resource is forbidden. Mail could not be sent. Account name "Steve". Error -18597 The user can elect to manually redirect a message and it sends correctly.  - delegate setup problem I am trying add a delegate under the Exchange mailbox by clicking "Add". When I enter a username/alias for the delegate, I get a response that says "There was an error communicating with the directory server." This is strange as I have check name working and I can go to directoy services and search AD fine. I know the permissions are correct, because I do get email meeting requests for the principal.  - restoring a deleted folder I messed up while multitasking & inadvertently deleted one of my folders for storing message. I searched the deleted files folder unsuccessfully for either the folder or its contents & I also searched the mac trash can unsuccessfully.  - Unexpected Quit Problem I'm using Microsoft Office X Entourage with OSX.3.4. I have a POP account and an IMAP account. Yesterday I began having unexpected quits which I was able to recreate 100% of the time by pressing the send/receive button. I've tried normal and complex rebuilds of the database which did not solve the problem. Out of frustration I reinstalled all of Microsoft Office X. The MUD Folder did remain intact after reinstallation. The problem continued after reinstallation. Of course, the crash log that is generated is of little help to me. I've had no other problems with my Mac or OS. (I did run disk utility and repaired permissions just in case, but this did not help.) Is this likely related to a file in my MUD folder?  - Entourage 10: Entourage does not connect automatically Dear All, When switch from Appletalk (for my printer) to DSL Internet access (Ethernet), Entourage (e-mail) does not connect automatically. The workaround is to change to any new site on Explorer, then return to Entourage for my e-mail. I am running Office X for Mac. Explorer 5.2.3 on OS 10.3. Under System Preferences > Network > Built-in Ethernet > PPPoE > PPPoE Options > Session options, "Connect automatically when needed" is checked.  - Migrating Entourage Data from PCI G4s to new G5s I'm migrating a half-dozen or so people from PCI G4's running 10.2.8 to new G5's running 10.3.4. As you know, PCI G4's do not permit starting up in Target Disk Mode, so transferring account info, etc. is a huge pain. Here's my question: I need to transfer the email info, emails and address book info from the Entourage X on their old machines to the new ones.  - IMAP rules -- destination folder gets reset to local Inbox [Apologies if this question shows up more than once. I had problems trying to post on my Mac and decided to try again on a PC.] I recently started using Entourage X for Mac, Service Release 1, version 10.1.4 (030702), on Mac OS X 10.3.4. I've installed the Office v.X updates through and including the 10.1.5 update. I'm working with e-mail in an IMAP store. I set up a series of rules, including some rules that were supposed to move messages from the IMAP server inbox to other IMAP folders. Since I need to access my mail from multiple separate computers, I need to keep the mail on the IMAP server and do NOT want to move mail onto the local computer (except for stuff like junk mail). PROBLEM: Whenever I started up Entourage, the IMAP rules would go crazy, moving mail out of my IMAP folders and into my local Inbox. When I looked at my IMAP rules, I discovered that they were corrupted. Every rule that had originally specified one of my IMAP folders as a destination had been changed to use my local Inbox as the destination instead. I fixed all my IMAP rules by changing the destination folders back to what they were supposed to be -- but after quitting Entourage and going back in, they had all been mangled again to move mail to my local Inbox. This bug has apparently been around for some time. I found a couple of very old postings to this newsgroup that appeared to be describing the same bug -- but I couldn't find any indication of a solution. Please note that the IMAP folders in question already exist on the IMAP server. I found a Knowledge Base article about problems when trying to create new IMAP folders in a rule, but that's not what I'm doing here. Does anyone know if a fix or workaround exists for this bug? Is it fixed in Entourage 2004? If it hasn't been fixed yet, is there any likelihood that Microsoft will expend any effort to fix it if I contact support? In my view, this is an extremely serious bug that makes Entourage an unsatisfactory IMAP e-mail client on the Mac unless it can be fixed.  - HELP Entourage 2004 Stalls with Bad Signature Hi, Entourage 2004 Stalls when I receive emails that use moving marquees (in the signature) in them. I have to force quit to fix the issue. These generally come from outlook PC clients and I believe the marquee is a MS technology. Anyone else experienced this problem? I can email someone an example to test if you would like to help me out. When preview pane is off there is no stall. (but I obviously can't read the email.)  - Problem with Send/Receive Schedule I just switched from Mac Mail to Entourage 2004. I used to use Entourage X a while ago, but abandoned it for Mail when Apple came out with it. Anyway . . My old identity was imported to the new Entourage and I have two IMAP email accounts. Here's the problem . . For some reason, my "Send and Receive All" does not retrieve new mail when it is done automatically. Only after manually clicking on "Send and Receive All" will it retrieve my new mail. I do have both accounts set up to be included in the schedule. I see the status bar change every 5 minutes . . That is . . "will run in less than a minute" changes to "will run in 5 minutes" but it never checks the mail. Is there a setting somewhere that I have turned off? Thanks.  - Entourage offline syncing error We're running Entourage 2004, attaching to an Exchange 2000 server, and=20 are getting an error when coming off of offline mode. We have 660 items = that need to be synced, but it fails after about 30 seconds, with the = error: Unrecognized internal error: 0xfffff9bf. I've tried everything to clear the errors to no avail. This error is = also shown=20 in the exchange server logs. There is no indication anywhere as to what = to=20 do with this... the error code on the message is 1025.  - disappearing text I am having a repetitive and bothersome issue with Entourage. = Oftentimes=20 when I am typing an email, I find that the cursor inexplicably jumps to=20 another section of the message and begins to enter text into the middle = of=20 the preceeding segment. Other times I have found that a section of=20 previously typed text will disappear with a particular key stroke. I = have even=20 had this happen repetitively while watching the kepboard after retyping = a=20 sentence over and over. I once had to change the sentence structure and = wording because each time that I hit the letter "z" on the keyboard the = entire=20 sentence I was working on would disappear.  - Setting the right LDAP search base in Entourage Hi, I'm looking to allow my Entourage users to search our Users and Distribution List objects in our Active Directory database, but I can't seem to get the search base to search the "cn" and "ou" attributes at the same time. Here's how my Entourage Directory window looks: LDAP server: abc Search Base: cn=users,dc=xyz,dc=com This allows users to search our Users folder without getting the outside Contacts to pop up (the reason for not setting it to search the entire GAL in the first place), but it doesn't search the Distribution Lists I can swap the cn=users for ou=distributionlists to get it to search the Distribution Lists, but than it doesn't search the Users. I want to search both. When I set the Search Base to ou=distributionlist,cn=users,dc=xyz,dc=com I get a "An unknown error (-17766) occurred"...sometimes it's -17768 or even -17799.  - Can't create connection schedule for Exchange account Hi, While at work (on the LAN) I can only access our Exchange server via IMAP/POP3, At home (on the Internet) I can only access the server via the OWA interface. So I thought I would create two schedules, one that accesses via IMAP during my expected work hours and one that accesses via OWA when I expect to be out of the office. However the Edit Schedule window will not let me select the OWA account. It's in the popup, but grayed out. I can read and send email via the account, just not set up a schedule.  - IMAP Fix for Calendar and Contacts This worked for us. Did have Microsoft assist in figuring this out for us Here is the fix that work for our site: > Tip: On the exchange server IIS interface. Make sure in properties of the > default web site, on the Web Site tab, "HTTP keep- alives enabled" is checked. > Once this is done, all Entourage clients free/busy info is updated and can > schedule appointments seeing user data on exchange. Once I enabled and restarted site everything worked. Hope this helps anyone that is having issues with calendar and contacts.  - How to make all contacts/appointments think they've just been I'm syncing my Entourage appointments and contacts with a PocketPC device. Unfortunately, I've noticed that if I restore the device from a backup, the "last modified" date on its contacts is set to the day I do the restore, not the day they were actually set up. This is a problem because the next time I sync to my desktop, it thinks all of the contacts are newest on the device (because of the recent restore date) and over-write the ones on my desktop. So, what I'd like to do is to somehow "touch" (as in the Unix command which updates the "last modified" time of any file to the current time) all of the contacts and appointments on my desktop Entourage, so that when I next sync, all of the desktop ones overwrite the ones on the device. I can always receive mail with no problem, and I know I could use webmail. But whenever I try to send a message in Entourage (from say a coffee cafe, hotel room, etc.) I get an error message about relaying being denied. A Road Runner tech said there's no way to do this, since you would have to keep changing the setting for your outgoing mail server in your Entourage prefs. Anyone know differently?  - IMAP problems in 2004 Hi, sorry for the repost, but I got no responses. I upgraded Office to 2004. I have Entourage set up to receive mail from several accounts. The POP and Hotmail accounts work fine, but the IMAP account is giving me problems. If I view an IMAP message, it changes to "read" from "unread" in the message viewing pane, but not in the folder pane. Then, if I delete the message, it shows up in the trash folder as unread.  - Slow, Slow, Slower OS10.3.4, 512memory and Word 2004 After the upgrade everything was fine for about 2 weeks. Entourage is very, very slow now however. The hesitation is so long that I've started using the mail in Safari. The other programs in word are working fine, just Entourage. I've done the compacting of the data in the data base, reinstalled just entourage. I did find that somehow I had garnered a couple of new Identiies, dumped those and looked in the hard drive to see what was generating the identies. Found some more Word Products from the two previous Word Programs. Is there an uninstaller that can be used? I feel that its trying to open 3 programs of Entourage at the same time.  - 2001 rebuild failure OS 9.2.2 Office 2001 SPI; v9.0.2 (4011) Everything was going swimmingly, then ... Error 4362 on opening Entourage. Typical rebuild: No go. (16352 contacts and...) Advanced rebuild: stops at end of rebuild (freeze). I waited 8 hours, no go. Increased preferred memory to 20000. No go (minimum memory not changed from 6144). Increased memory to 30000.  - Entourage calender syncing problem Hi, I have just install Office 2004 on my laptop and then configured it to talk to my Exchange server to test the settings. B4 it compleatly synced I cancelled the process because I getting ready to image a bunch of iBooks with this software. After I removed my account, it seems that my calender was replicated to all the Entourage users in my Domain. I am using Exchange 2000 SP 3. Even when a new account is setup on a client computer with Entourage with there email showing, they get my calender. Help this is a major problem, I'm not sure how this could of happened.  - sending a newsletter via entourage I am dying here. I want to create a formatted, lightly-imaged newsletter to circulate to my client list. I have no problem creating the newsletter in word.. but whenever I try to save it as html and send it through entourage, it gets messed up beyond belief. I know there are problems here... so can somebody suggest a simpler way to do this? I can't send complex html because I don't have a server or web page that peopple can access for the images... it's very light (only two images, anyway). Any suggestions? The synchronization works fine, and the delegate is able to see all the calendar events from the "parent". The problem is that when the delegate dismisses the calendar events, the notification for the dismissed events pops up again at the next synchronization (in his case, ever 10 minutes).  - Importing from Entourage X. So I figure I have the simplest conversion possible-going from Entourage = X=20 to Entourage 2004. After removing the test drive and loading MS Office 2004, I select = 'Import...'=20 from the File menu and then select 'Import Information from a Program'=20 from the first wizard prompt. Clicking the right arrow, I then select = the=20 Microsoft Entourage X radio button, hit the right arrow, deselect a = couple of=20 the presented check boxes, and again hit the right arrow. The next = wizard=20 prompt indicates "No Microsoft Entourage X Entities Found" so I click = the=20 'Browse' button and navigate to: hd/users/myname/documents/microsoft user data/office X identities/main=20 identity The wizard still does not recognize the user identity and the right = arrow=20 remains unavailable.  - Rendezvous support Has anyone else been struck by the rather obvious conclusion that the Project Center needs to take advantage of Rendezvous? I've been trying to test why two computers with the same shared projects sometimes don't update. It seems that some events (I haven't been able to distinguish why...) just won't share, while others will... Back to my point. These two computers are sitting next to each other on the same LAN, (Well, actually one's wired and the other is connected by a wireless bridge but essentially it's the same LAN) and it takes them typically three cycles to make the proper synchronizations. I would think this should be two, but often times the schedules don't seem to match up on 2 cycles so it takes 2 to 3 cycles on each machine (10 to 15 minutes!!!) for me to be able to test this... My solution is to give Entourage smarter project synching capabilities: One, the time interval should be adjustable... Two, the program should use Rendezvous to to discover other computers on it's LAN that are sharing a project and let them tell each other "Hey, you're sharing project X with me, I just made a change and you need to update, pass it on." Or better yet, "Here's the change I just made to project X, pass it on." Anyone else think this a good idea? I do hope Paul and Barry have some clout with the MS programmers/idea-dudes to be able to submit this idea to them. I know there are other little "networkgroup" products that use Rendezvous for similar purposes, but none that do the project management that makes Entourage such a hot item. I would submit the idea through the feedback site, but alas, the MS site is so convoluted, I never made it to the right page... On what occasion are you receiving this error? Is it when you try to edit
an account in Tools -> Accounts? If so, the following advice might help:

This is a known issue that is caused by viewing complex HTML messages prior
to opening the Accounts window. You can work around it by re-launching
Entourage and then editing your account before opening any complex HTML
messages.
