 - What is quick way to resend? What is the easiest way to resend an e mail you have already sent out? Sometimes you just want to add a PS note. I go to send folder and find the send e mail, and hit reply again, then it goes back to me. And unfortunately, I don't see "resend " button in Entourage. Did there used to be one? Maybe that was outlook. I seem to remember that. Right now, I cut and paste the e mail address of person I just send to and hit forward, it's real cumbersome. Thanks!  - Category error Whenever I post a news item, the default Category is None. But as soon as the item is posted, it becomes Personal & Holiday. This happens even if I choose a specific Category.  - Sync 10.1.4 Quits in Middle of Sync with Entourage 10.1.5 I just installed the updates to office X. So it is updated to Office 10.1.5. I then installed the most recent entourage palm sync for office 10.1.4. Now I hadn't had it installed in a long while because my palm was broken and I'd since gotten a new machine. So I try and hot sync and it starts but after connecting and trying to sync using the entourage conduit it crashes and the sync quits. When I check the palm all has been erased that was on there. I was trying to overwrite the palm with entourage. I tried syncing just categories. It was able to successfully sync a smaller category but it crashes when I try a larger category. For the record I have about 1800 contacts. The only things I have in the conduits folder is the entourage and install. Does anyone know if sync 10.1.4 is incompatible with the newest office update 10.1.5? If it isn't then when are they going to fix this. If it is compatible then what else could my problem be. Another note Entourage says its version is 10.1.4 (030702). On another note I did try to rebuild the database by starting entourage while holding down the option button but the option to rebuild never came up. Did I do that right?  - Setting default application for mail links I know this ought to be an easy answer, but I cannot seem to find it. I'm wondering how to change the default application that opens mail links. I know how to change the browser and the e-mail applications in the system preferences, however, when I open a link to the iTunes music store, classic/system 9 starts up and iTunes 2.0.4 launches despite the fact that I have OS X and iTunes 4.0.1.  - Model takes over ... I signed up with a broadband cable connection about a month ago. Since then I've encountered a number of intermittent problems with email. Here's one. When I click "Send & Receive," Entourage usually uses the broadband connection. But once in a while it starts dialing via the modem. Anyone know what causes that, and how to eliminate the problem.  - Hotsync Problems--No Entourage Conduit I am now staerting to seriously doubt my own abilities on a computer. I am trying to set up Entourage to sync with my Hanspring Visor Deluxe. I am running the newest version of the Palm software (4.0) and when I run the Entourage installer, it looks like everything is fine. I checked the library and the Entourage conduits are there and the Palm conduits are disabled. OK, so it looks fine... but when I open the Hotsync manager to set up Entourage, the Entourage conduit does not show up as an option.  - can't import addresses from netscape comm 4.77 to entourage X I have tried several ideas, themain: export netscape address (from=20 4.77) as a .ldif file and then tried to import following the dialog box = to=20 import via text or delimited. It imports all the info on separate lines, = names with no e-mails, then much further down thelist e-mails. I have=20 tried mapping matching fields, but you can only map the first name=20 and e-mail.  - Syncing 2 Palms, one with Entourage, one with Palm Desktop? My husband and I both have Palm m130s that we are syncing with a Mac PowerBook G4 running 0S X 10.2.4. He would like to use Entourage as his desktop application, I would like to use Palm Desktop. I had PD syncing with my Palm just fine. Then I installed the Entourage conduit for him, and much to my chagrin, it completely overwrote the PD conduit so that I am no longer able to sync my Palm with PD.  - Q: deleting unwanted contacts? I'm running Entourage 2001 (Version 9.0) under Mac OS X 10.2/Classic. When I am composing a mail message and begin typing the recipient's name or e-mail address, a pop-up menu appears from which I can choose a known address. This is normal behavior. However, the pop-up contains dozens if not hundreds of spammers' addresses and obsolete contacts. None of these is in my address book. How do I get rid of them? Please respond to this group. Thanks.  - Entourage Calendar-new event dates automatically changed Entourage X System 10.2.6 When I set a new event date for the 9/9/03 it is automatically changed to 9/1/03.  - Entourage 10.1.4 -- contacts sync but calendar items do not I read the new FAQ at <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq/exchange_server.html> but didn't see my situation addressed. OWA is enabled on our Exchange server and I can see calendar items using the browser interface just fine. I let the exchange account set-up wizard set up my account and it found the domain controller, SMTP server, free/busy server, etc. just fine. I can see my exchange mail folders and the contacts in my Exchange account were sync'd with Entourage. I even experimented with adding a new contact in Entourage and it eventually was migrated to the Exchange server (and vice versa). BUT, no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the calendar events to appear in Entourage. If I add a calendar event inside of Entourage, it does not appear in my Exchange calendar. I deleted my Exchange account and started over from scratch many times and no joy. I followed the FAQ advice to download tcpflow and see the traffic between my machine and the server and from what I can tell, Entourage is requesting to see the calendar, eventually the exchange server delivers calendar info back to Entourage, but the data does not appear in my Entourage calendar. I do notice that the attempt to get info from the server always fails the first two times that the request is made. In the tcpflow log I see: 192.168.101.059.49325-192.168.101.009.00080: SEARCH /exchange/jsolderitsch/Calendar/ HTTP/1.1 followed by some data and then I get the response: 192.168.101.009.00080-192.168.101.059.49325: HTTP/1.1 401 Access Denied Then the request is repeated with a new NTLM authorization string, the request is denied again and then the third time, with a longer NTLM auth string, the request succeeds. So it looks like the conversation does reach a conclusion albeit haltingly -- I see HTML data in the log that looks like it accurately reflects my exchange calendar info coming back. It never appears inside the Entourage calendar view however. I see no errors in the Entourage error log. So I am stymied at this point. I have a PC running real Outlook 2002 on my desk as well so I am back to using that. It's also puzzling that contact sync works (in both directions) but calendar data is not being processed. Any suggestions appreciated. I did save the tcpflow logs so if anyone can read these in more detail than me, I can add more details to my problem report.  - Entourage and Exchange Server 5.5 I know that the Exchange Server update for Entourage "officially" supports Exchange Server 2000, but I am still running Exchange Server 5.5. I have downloaded and installed all the Office updates and configured Entourage for my Exchange Server 5.5, and it seems to work for basic mail connectivity. It does not, however, support public folders as anything other than regular IMAP folders, nor will it access the LDAP address book from the server.  - Finished with MS It has become painfully apparent that any serious IT dept that wants to incorporate OS X and Windows machines in their network need to find an alternative groupware solution other than Exchange. It is comically frustrating waiting and waiting for updates, fixes, and capabilities. Then finaly, when the new product ships, it is marginally a better product than doing without. It is obvious Microsoft has no desire to allow Users of OS X to integrate and work productivly on a corporate network with other Windows users. As IT Administator, my budget will be going elsewhere.  - Entourage email: imbedding images within text Whenever an email sent with an imbedded image is received in Entourage it shows up both imbedded and as an attachment, even when Signatures protocol is used. (When received in MAIL or in PC email handlers the image shows up imbedded only). None of the techniques I've seen so far eliminates the unwanted paper clip icon in Entourage.  - named or numerical IP addresses better for Exchange? sent this out before and help still needed...... Have set up EntourageX with Exchange5.5. Problems I have encountered are: 1. I have found that the process will only work with the use of numerical IP addresses (eg. 172.221.20....) for IMAP, LDAP and SMTP but not for named addresses (eg. SSHMAIL03). Using named addresses gives "connection failure". Changing back over to numerical addresses gives access, although then only to SMTP/sending mail. (see problem 2). Why?? 2. I can send email but can't read email. An error message of "invalid Account ID or password" comes back. This can't be correct because when I then shut down EntourageX and revert to Outlook 2001 with the same ID and password it logs on without any problems.  - Any way to cajole Entourage to accept "special" characters in Entourage [9.0.2 (4011) / Mac OS 9.2.2] does not allow me to insert my name in the Identity field of a newly created News account, presumably because of the ó and ñ characters. Since my correct name is my ID at the Adobe forums, the authentication process fails. Is there a way to force Entourage to accept so-called "special" characters? I don't think of them as "special"; they look pretty normal to me.  - Export as Vcards How do I export my address book contacts as Vcards. I want to transfer them to the contacts folder on my iPod, which iPod says I can do. By default they export as a .txt file.  - Error 5421 Referring to David Boleyn's message of Sept. 3rd, I too am running OS X 10.2.6. and using Verizon DSL as my internet provider. My Entourage is version 10.1.1. Until recently, I was using a regular dial-up for my ISP and never had a problem with sending any size email. Now, I cannot send an email over 1K - pretty tiny letter. When the size reaches 2K (about 3 sentences), I get the message "Mail Cannot be sent. The server is busy, try again later. Error 5421. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  - Receiving email from MCI/ UUNET I'm not sure if this is an Entourage issue, but here goes. I have a business domain at Verizon. Messages from this account are received by Entourage with no problem. Recently a client began using MCI/UUNET ISDN. All his messages come into my Entourage stripped of their subject, sender info, and attachments. Other people get his messages with no problem (in fact, I get them with no problem if he sends them to my verizon.net account.)  - Synchronizing Entourage I use an application called Synchronize to keep my laptop and desktops identical. I just upgraded to OSX, and when I try to sync my two machines, it's skipping my Entourage files because something's open. But all my Microsoft apps are closed. In my Login Items folder there's an entry called "Microsoft Database Daemon" with an Entourage icon. I'm sure that's the culprit, but I can't find any info about it in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.  - 2001 - Error -23012 ERROR An error occurred on the IMAP server. EXPLANATION A connection failure has occurred. Error -23012 (Some explanation) I'm getting this error trying to connect to my mail server while setting up an account. I am able to connect to the server with a different account. It is my main email account that is having this problem. It used to work and suddenly stopped working. I deleted the account try to set it up again. It stops with the infamous "The application Conduit Manager has unexpectedly quit" error before it synchs the calendar (the addresses come through just fine). Anyway, I have tried to import the calendar from Palm Desktop, but can only find ways of doing the addresses. Is there a way to import the calendar application to application?  - Exchange5.5, EntourageX, numerical IP addresses Have set up EntourageX with Exchange5.5. Problems I have encountered are: 1. I have found that the process will only work with the use of numerical IP addresses (eg. 172.221.20....) for IMAP, LDAP and SMTP but not for named addresses (eg. SSHMAIL03). Using named addresses gives "connection failure". Changing back over to numerical addresses gives access, although then only to SMTP/sending mail. (see problem 2). Why?? 2. I can send email but can't read email. An error message of "invalid Account ID or password" comes back. This can't be correct because when I then shut down EntourageX and revert to Outlook 2001 with the same ID and password it logs on without any problems.  - Start an update Outlook not Entourage campaign! Hi Just a quick note on how poor Entourage X is at trying to emulate what Outlook used to do under OS 9. For a start the setup procedure to connect to your mail server doesn't follow the same as Outlook used to. How is is supposed to connect properly without you knowing if everything's been filled in properly? When I downloaded the Entourage 10.1.4 update I thought 'thank god they've done something at last' as I was always thinking there was an OS X Outlook app in the pipeline. Now I wish all they'd done was to upgrade Outlook itself and not merge it with Entourage. It's thrown up a rake of sync problems that this version of Entourage can't seem to handle. The calendar comes in as an e-mail type list instead of superimposed onto a proper looking calendar. E-mail (with me anyway) can't be sent to anyone else outside my firm because 'relaying isn't allowed'... thanks! Can't check an e-mail address with the server because a LDAP error occurs... aaaaarrrrggggg! Is there another e-mail app that runs under OS X that used to do what Outlook did under OS 9 instead of Entourage.  - sbc yahoo with Entouarge I have recently purchased a mac and am trying to use Entourage mail with a dial up sbc yahoo internet connection. After calling prodigy and apple help several times I have the following settings: pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com , same for smtp and pop.prodigy.yahoo.com, same for smtp. Every time I call prodigy, I get a different answer for the settings. I have been able to receive mail, but cannot send mail. I get an error message 23016 "a connection failure has occured". I have installed 10.1.5 and 10.1.4 Conduit to sync with a palm tugsten T.

Hotsync was working before I upgraded but now the Entourage Conduit quits
just after starting. It appears to delete all Address info but adds
nothing.

I have rebuilt the Entourage database, repaired file permissions and
rebooted.

Has anyone got any idea what is going on or has anyone got Hotsync working.
