When I create a new message in Entourage 2004, and I click on the
button "verify the names" it gives me the error:
Error: An unknown error (-3248) occurred. Explanation: Error of LDAP
server.

Other than this, Entourage works fine--E-mail is retrieved and sent,
schedules are maintained, etc.

The Outlook client from Office 2001 works properly; we're able to type
the first few characters of a name and then click the closest match in
the address book. But in Entourage 2004, we are unable to verify
names; we must know the recipient's name spelling exactly or we're
dead in the water.

Also, we really need a way to browse the user list in case the user is
stuck and needs to scroll through them.

In short, we desire the same functionality that all other Exchange
clients have. Thanks for any ideas,

-Kurt

I guess you have an Exchange account. Try setting up an independant
Directory Service for he LDAP account. Use your Exchange user name and
password there but dont forget to add the domain name to the login like
that:
DOMAIN\login
