 - Signature bug I think I found a bug in Entourage and signatures. I was redoing a letter that was sent to me by email in Word and when I was done I sent it the email client (Entourage 2008) and when i opened the default email client (which has a signature) there was none.  - Email won't delete I am using Entourage 2004, or trying to. I am unable to delete email in Entourage. My settings and preferences are as follows: In "Mail", I have "save deleted emails on server" unchecked. In Entourage, in Delete Options, I have" move items to deleted items folder", and then "move to this IMAP folder-deleted messages". Am I missing something?  - 11.4.0 Keyboard unresponsive, then sudden log out... This is a new one on me. Since upgrading to 11.4.0, I'll... 1) hit command-N for a new email 2) type the address 3) tab 4) type the subject 5) tab 6) start typing in the body On step 2, 4 or 6 the keyboard will be unresponsive intermittently. If I switch to another program, I have full keyboard ability. Usually this is solved by putting my cursor into a different text area in Entourage, typing a little and then returning to the previously untypable area. Sometimes this doesn't fix the problem. HERE'S THE REAL KICKER: Three times now I have had the text insertion problem, then clicked into another area to remedy it. The entire computer freezes with no responsiveness at all from the keyboard for about 5-10 seconds, then the screen goes blue for about 2 seconds and then it puts me to the OSX login screen. I log back in and it's as though the computer has been restarted with no errors at all. All of what you've been working on disappears, with no explanation. Tag: Entourage Tag: 89419

 - Apply rule to all subfolders Is there a way to apply a rule to all the folders in an Exchange account (or any account for that matter?) I'm struggling with Exchange server quotas and it would be nice if I could run a rule that grabs all email from my Exchange account over 60 days old and moves it locally.  - Can't Open Entourage in Leopard I've just upgraded my mac to Leopard & each time I try to launch Entourage I get this message: "An error occurred while launching. There is no such disk." & When I click on the Ok button it dies. I've tried opening Entourage on another User account & it works fine so how do I correct the error that I'm currently getting?  - Couple of email questions Is there a way to email blast from Entourage without using an attachment. I want to sent out an invite so when the email recipient opens the email the invite is shown. How would I set this up? Do I use my email address book or is this a email marketing issue(service)? Also What blocks certain emails from coming into your inbox? I?ll get an email from a client, then I get a call saying they have been sending more emails, and I have not responded. When I check my inbox nothing is there. I have a POP account and have it set up so email come into my account, nothing is stored on the server. Does this have anything to do with the email service provider? One more thing.... I always have to go to the? Send and Receive? to my POP account to retrieve my mail. Is there a way to set this up to come in automatically?  - Entourage 2004 "cannot retrieve delegation settings" error message If I follow instructions for adding a delegate, I always get a message stating "cannot retrieve delegation settings" after I find and select a user to specify as delegate. So the Delegate Permissions window never gets populated. When I click Select while using the Select User dialog, I can see the Microsoft Messaging Library.bundle app become visible in the Dock, then disappear with a crash notice.  - missing emails entourage problem. there're 5 staffs in our office and we all share single email address so everybody knows everything. each of us downloads emails from the server but of course leaving a copy on the server. recently i've realized sometimes i don't receive emails that everybody else does. i look for them in the junk and deleted folder and nowhere to be found. these missing emails are sometimes important ones and i miss out big time. i wouldn't even know that i didn't get them until someone happens to speak of them. what's causing the problem?? how can i fix it? any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you!  - Sending Mail is Slow I have a Yahoo account and I use Entourage 11.4.0. Recently I've notices a several hour (5 - 6) time delay from when I compose my mail in Entourage and when people receive it.  - Data Deletion Bug in Entourage 2008 / My Day If you open a single occurrence of a recurring meeting in Entourage by right-clicking on the event in My Day the date for the event is shown as 01/01/1601.  - My Exchange Agenda gone in Entourage 2008 Hi, I don't know why but my agenda is gone. I sync with an exchange 2007 server. I had it before. If I'm logging onto webmail of exchange, I can see my agenda; But for some reason I can't find it in Entourage anymore. At the entry for my agenda, just standing nothing and showing the folder stucture of my mailbox. I did already trow away the acount settings and fully resynced. Did compress and verify of database.  - no vodafone mail with Entourage 2008 Hi, Entourage 2008 under leopard 10.5.2 (German version) won't connect with my (German) Vodafone pop3-mailserver (unknown error -50). Mail account preferences were converted automatically from Entourage 2004. I created a new account manually as well, error -50 upon connection with that new account and with the converted account. The smtp-server is working, no trouble at all. As it is my main email account, I had to downgrade to Entourage 2004 which works very well. What is wrong? Help is appreciated.  - Categories Colors Somehow I've lost the color's on Categories both on the main menu bar and on right click menu when you highlight an appointment. All I get are the words (e.g.None, Family, Friends, etc.) But no color. I did change the color of the highlight in System Preferences Ab so I could see the curson in Excel clearer but I don't think that would cause the colors on this menu to go away. Any ideas?  - Entourage 2008 crashes on calendar view When going to the calendar view from shortcuts, Entourage crashes. However, it sometimes does not crash if I click on the "calendar" folder in email view ("calendar" is a folder my exchange inbox). Anyone experienced the same issue ? Any help is more than welcome.  - Deleted Account I recently purchased a Mac Book Pro and installed Office:Mac 2008 home and student. I transferred all of my files, emails and contacts over to entourage and used it successfully for three days. I was able to search, receive and send mail with no problem. This evening I opened the program and it was all gone. No account settings, no files, no emails, nothing. As if I opened it for the first time. Ugh! Any way to retrieve the files?  - How does Entourage sync with 10.4 iCal and Address Book? Hi all I'm thinking on switching from Apple Mail / iCal to Entourage 2008. One critical issue is syncing with my Nokia E50. For this, of course, the syncing with Tiger iCal and AddressBook must work well. From the posts, I gather that syncing with Leopoard iCal and Address Book is not yet working well. What's the situation with Tiger iCal and AddressBook? But, also, how exactly does the calender syncing work? As I understand it iCal uses separate calendars and Entourage 2008 uses 1 calendar with different categories.  - Entourage Emergency - Help! My incoming mail Has anyone experienced this before? Research has found little about a virus that would attack my Mac, but I was informed that this could be "spoofing" and that it will go away on its own. Unfortunately, NOW, instead of just placing my incoming SPAM messages into my Outbox (awaiting an "addressee"), NOW it's taking some of my Incoming messages and just dumping them in my Outbox. And to top it off, it reads that I'm the one who sent these emails. I had a Geek Squad guy out here for a few hours - he found nothing wrong with my Entourage settings, internet security, etc. Yet, it's become scary because I could potentially miss an important email because it somehow landed in my outbox with 1,000 spam messages instead of my inbox where it belongs. And when I dragged and dropped my "outbox mail (that was actually incoming mail) into my Inbox to "put it where it belonged," the headers are bolded, as if I haven't read them -- despite my reading them.  - Simple? Just moved to Entourage from Apple I am a long term user of Outlook at work, and like the fact that Entourage seems to "feel" like a home user's version. Just enough to make me comfortable. I have imported all my Apple mail info, no problem, and Entourage seems to be working fine, including being the default. BUT... I cannot for the life of me export my apple address book (or conversely, import it) into Entourage. I know people have done this successfully. Can you please help me. thanks in advance.  - Restoring Entourage database I have a PowerBook 15" G4 running Entourage 2004. I recently got a Blackberry Pearl that I have been synchronising with my Mac using the PocketMac Synch Manager. When synching it has been bringing up reminders of meetings that occurred up to 3 years ago and asking me what to do. As I thought it was only the reminder for these meetings I have been selecting "Delete from Mac" from the options available. Today I had to check details of a meeting last year and found that all Calendar events have been deleted from Entourage prior to January this year. I've been backing up to an external drive and found a copy of the Entourage database from December 2007. I've transferred this Database to my hard drive, but can't work out how to restore the database from this file. When I hold down Option and start Entourage I only get options to rebuild the database from the Main Identity backed up today. Other identities that I can see give me an error message that "There is no such disk". Can anyone tell me how I can get Entourage to load the old database file to Entourage? If the rebuild overwrites the current data I assume I can then Synch again from my Blackberry to get meetings since December... Any assistance much appreciated! Tag: Entourage Tag: 89303

 - Entourage Frustration In my humble opinion, one of the worst features in Entourage is the fact that when you delete an email message it automatically goes to the next (newer) message. When I used Outlook and had my emails sorted form newest to oldest I would simply start at the top and it would automatically move down the list. Is there a way to make Entourage 2008 work the same?  - Sounds Bug I just found out Sounds are broken in Apple Mail application too with Leopard. One of the fixes they gave was to use Growl, however I haven't tried this with Entourage. Thought I would put this out there to see if any of you sound and script gurus could come up with something workable. <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1199018&tstart=250> 1. Install the latest version of Growl (1.1.2) 2. Follow the instructions on this page: <http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?t=15587> 3. In the Applications tab in the Growl preference pane, you'll see one called "New Mail Rule" 4. Click on it and select "Configure" 5. Then you'll see the "Play Sound" drop down box. Pick your favorite mail sound. And that's all there is to it. Not only does this get Growl working with Leopard, but it also gives you your new mail sound back. They also mentioned the Play Sound script used in a Rule as I have mentioned before. To install, drag it to any location on your hard drive. The first time you call the Play Sound application in a script, AppleScript may ask you to locate the application file if Play Sound is not running. 2) Create "Custom Sounds" folder in your Microsoft User Data folder. Drop the New mail sound into this folder. 3) Create AppleScript and drop into Entourage Script Menu Items folder. set cusrPath to (path to "cusr" as string) set soundAlias to (cusrPath & "Documents:Microsoft User Data:Custom Sounds:newmail.mp3") as alias tell application "Play Sound" play soundAlias end tell 4) Create Rule. Be sure to uncheck Do not apply other rules. Make this the top rule. All messages Run AppleScript Script: [select your New Mail.scpt] Note: it can drive you crazy getting notified by every mail.  - Address Book View I'm new to Entourage (using 2008) and would like to be able to view my address book entries as business cards like I did with Outlook. Is this possible? Also, is there a way to set up Entourage so that when you open a new message the address fields are simply laid out at the top of the message like in Outlook instead of being in a separate pop-up window?  - Meeting Invitations to iCal Users I've had different results inviting others to a meeting. Invitation recipients who are Outlook users get the invitation and can reply just fine. Recipients who are iCal users (as in Mac's iCal program which complies with the industry standard iCal forum) get an email that has the details of the meeting embedded into it but do not have the ability to add it to their calendar or accept/decline the email.  - Seeing more hours in the day in Calendar view Okay, so this one has to be simple and I'm missing it. How do I change the number of hours in a day that I can see in a fixed-height window size in week view in the calendar. I'm currently seeing about 8 hours of a day at a time and I'd like to see between 12 - 16 hours in that window. Where is the preference or the key/mouse combination that would allow me to do this?  - Trouble sending attachments Hello: I've got version 12.0.0. and have a few problems. (1) Can't send attachments, even though I've been everywhere looking for help within Preferences, Settings, etc. etc. Everything seems set up to do so. When I try to send an email with an attachment like a document, it eventually goes to my "drafts" folder, and never gets sent. I go back a day or two later, and the same thing happens again when I try to send. I've sent pictures with no problems. I'm using Leopard if that helps.  - Long Delays in Sending Messages Hi -- I'm running Entourage 10.1 (2006) on a MacBook with OS 10.5.1. I have this set up with a yahoo account. Lately I've been having problems sending messages. They leave the outbox immediately, and show up in the sent items folder right away, but they aren't delivered for 5 or 6 hours. If I log on to the yahoo account on the internet and send a message through that site, it is delivered (and received through Entourage) right away.  - Office 2008 fonts sizes are a mess... is anyone else experiencing completely wrong font sizes? does anyone know what units they are attempting to present fonts in?size 11 is non-existent, and teh prefs allow a size 7, but the compose window doesn't... any thoughts on what is happening here? i haven't even gotten to a point where I'd install new fonts on this brand new computer... Entourage is the only app that does this, even my other office apps are fine (s far as I can tell)... I sent a test email to myself to try to figure out what to use for the benefit of my clients... what 2008 claims is shown in paren, but what it actually equals visually and when you highlight it in office 2004 is listed at the right.  - Awful default fonts in Entourage 2008 Hi I have a new iMac 24" - just moved from PC. Can anyone help me with these questions? 1) the default fonts for the list of email in my inbox, the headings of the columns the list of mailboxes etc etc. is just awful and appears blurry with a shadow like effect behind it. How can I change these to more readable and clearer fonts? 2) I want my inbox list to show the columns FROM, TO, SUBJECT, DATE RECEIVED, ATTACHMENT, FLAGGED etc - how do I do this? G-4 iBook MS Office 2008 Was going from MS Office 2004 to MS Office 2008 and everything was fine until I went into Entourage Preferences and tried to transfer my address book by using the Sync, what a mistake that was. The whole suiite shut down and I had to remove office completly. Finally got it up and running again but am very leery about importing anything; in 7 years of usuage never had any problems. Just what is the best way to get your address book over? Tag: Entourage Tag: 89232

When I open newly installed Entourage 2008, it brings up the mail window. Then the "barber pole" in the lower right hand corner starts to rotate, and after just a few seconds it stops, and the software locks up. The only thing I can do is a "Force Quit".

I have reloaded the Entourage software and the same thing happens. Any ideas?

What type of account? (POP, IMAP, Exchange). The first time you connect
to a server it can take a long time. If this is a POP account, try
testing in a new Identity. Under Entourage in the Menu bar select
Switch Identity --> New. Enter your account info. Do you see the same
problem?
