 - Tables & Tabs in Entourage Sorry for all the questions, but I've been very fustrated at not being able to do the types of things in Entourage that I could do in Outlook. I tried pasting a Word table into Entourage, but only the text came through so I tried tabbing over to line everything up in columns, but it doesn't even tab over properly and I have to use the space bar to try and line things up. The e-mails I sent to clients looked much more professional when I was able to use Outlook. Since the office isn't going to convert to PCs I need a way to figure out how to get tables into Entourage or at the very least get it to tab over in the exact same spot, no matter how many letters the word has.  - How Do I Import Contacts from Outlook into Entourage? I used to work in a PC office environment and now I am in a Mac office environment. I have almost 600 business contacts that I would like to import into Entourage. I exported the contacts from Outlook into a CSV file, but the only things that got imported into Entourage were the name, cell phone and e-mail. I don't want to have to retype almost 600 contacts.  - conflict resolver presents no conflicts I have sync enabled to sync my Entourage with iCal and my address book. Every time I open Entourage, the Conflict Resolver fires up but doesn't present any conflicts. The sync icon on the Mac OS menu bar has an explanation point in it and indicates there are 28 conflicts. When I select to review the conflicts now, none appear.  - How Do I Forward An HTML E-mail? I'm new to Mac. I use Outlook 2003 at home and I have no problem forwarding an HTML e-mail, but the office is Mac-based and uses Entourage 2004. When I try to forward an HTML e-mail, it strips everything out apparently because it MIGHT contain malicious code and I'm not smart enough to make that decision. There has got to be a way to forward an HTML e-mail without it falling apart and turning into text. I've looked everywhere, but can't figure out how to turn this so called safety feature off and it's driving me crazy not to be able to forward an HTML e-mail. Tag: Entourage 2008 Tag: 87906

 - Thoughts on Entourage 2008 syncing It's disappointing that direct sync to Palm is no longer supported in Entourage 2008. I was using a product called MobileSync which utilized the Palm sync abilities in earlier versions of Entourage. Now I must use Apple's iSync to sync my Sony-Ericsson phone instead of MobileSync. Here are a few observations. - Having Entourage categories sync to groups in Apple's address book would be very helpful. That way I could open iSync an tell it to only sync my contacts in the Cell Phone category. There are workarounds to do this, but they are clumsy and time consuming. I type CPCP in the comments of contacts I want on my cell phone. I have a smart group in Apple's Address book that includes only contacts with CPCP in the comments. Apple's iSync, however, does not see the smart group. So I have a "dumb" group in Apple's address book which I periodically empty and replace with the contents of the smart group. Like I said, clumsy and time consuming. Can anybody improve on this workaround? - What if I could tell Entourage to only sync Entourage contacts that are in my Cell Phone category? I could then tell iSync to sync all of my contacts because Apple's Address Book would only contain the contacts from my Entourage Cell Phone category. This would work for me but perhaps not for others. If someone used Apple's Address Book for any purpose other then mobile syncing then this wouldn't work. Is syncing of only one category from Entourage scriptable? - Calendar syncing is not a big problem for me personally. I can sync my Entourage calendar with my phone via iSync. Currently I don't need my Entourage calendar to sync with google. But I can understand the desire for Entourage to be able to pick up more than one calendar from iCal. The question I have about that is how do you distinguish the multiple calendars from iCal when you view them in Entourage. Do you give each calendar it's own category? or it's own project? I don't know the answer. As a Mac Consultant I can say with confidence that more and more people are wanting to sync in more and more different ways. None of these sync issues are going to go away. Instead, they are going to increase in complexity. Entourage is a great tool by itself. I hope that it can do better at playing well with others.  - .GIF files and Entourage headers Hello, I have two problems: I don't know if this is caused by Entourage or by MAC generally. Whenever I receive and open .gif files, they don't play like when I had my windows computer. Anyone know the reason for this??  - Inbox for Exchange account no longer updates in Entourage 2008 I upgraded to Entourage 2008 a week ago, and everything was initially working well with my corporate Exchange account. However, since yesterday the Inbox has not updated while messages to other folders are received successfully. Outlook on Windows and OWA both show messages being received to the Inbox and any other folders. I have tried restarting the system in hopes that some process had simply died. I would prefer not to create a new Identity as that is a bit of a nuclear option, and I don't want to do that each week if this is going to happen frequently.  - Entourage 2008 IMAP Does not Show new email I have upgraded to the complete new suite, and Entourage does not work properly with IMAP email. All my other accounts work fine, but entrourage does not show new email. The email can be viewed via webmail and outlook (PC via IMAP) but Entourage lags by 1-2 days in showing new email. I have rebuilt my database (Thinking that maybe the upgrade had a problem) - and even deleting the IMAP account and re-adding it. Still, only email to a certain day/time shows up.  - Sorting of Projects in Project Center I love the Project Center in Entourage - I think it is just a unique and awesome UI for an app like this. There is one tweak which I actually think would be pretty simple and really helpful for me. That is the ability to sort the projects in the Project Center View in a couple of key ways. It is already sorted alphabetically, it would be great to have the options to sort by: 1. Color - I use labels for the status of projects and it would be good to lump all the projects that need attention together and so on. 2. Due Date - As difference projects are due at different times it would be helpful to be able them organized by the ones that are due the soonest or the opposite. 3. Sub Projects / Dividers: This may be harder to implement but it would be helpful to be able to visually organize the projects into sub folders like a) West Coast Clients b) East Coast Clients c) Events d) Conferences, etc. This top level doesn't have to be a project or anything more than a divider that can create these sub divisions to help visually organize the projects going on. I think these are some visual tweaks that would just continue to make the Project Center one of the most helpful interfaces in organizing information and work.  - After Sending, Move To Tool... Entourage 2004 had an option via a tool icon to move a message to a folder after you send it.  - Issue syncing between Entourage and Exchange I use Entourage 2008 hooked up to my corporate Exchange server. It has been working great until recently I have had some synchronization issues where I have deleted/moved messages in Entourage but they do not get deleted/moved on the Exchange server. For example, I have a SmartPhone where changes made in Entourage are reflected on the phone. That is, once again, until recently.  - Why the antiquated RULES process still? I was hoping, praying, (and obviously dreaming) that with Office 08 Entourage would bring update and make more modern the entire process of creating rules. But nothing's changed there. In Thunderbird, once you've received an email from someone you can simply click on their email address and make a "Filter" (rule) for that person on the spot.  - Syncing 2008 Entourage to Handhelds The Microsoft plug-in, Handheld Sync Installer, does not work on Entourage 2008. Therefore, I can't sync my Entourage data with my handheld. Is there a new installer and if not, how does Microsoft propose we sync our Entourage data to our handhelds? I happen to have a Treo 650 Smartphone running a Palm OS. I realize there is a jerry-rigged solution that costs money - purchase the Missing Sync, sync Entourage to your Apple programs, and sync our handheld to the Apple Programs using Missing Sync. I purchased that product and it isn't working perfectly, very buggy, it can't even sync my phone to the Apple programs, let alone get over to Entourage (new calendar items - phone to iCal).  - Entourage 2008 Won't Recognize 2004 Identity to Import Backed up my 2004 Office Identity before erasing my hard drive. Reinstalled my OS and a fresh copy of Office 2008.  - Entourage aggravation - column layout Entourage has a jillion columns in the list view. I like just four. For every folder I have, setting each one up is painful. Not only can I not set a default to say, "All folders should use these columns, and sort this way", but to remove a column, you have to summon a menu for every single column: no "checkboxes in a sub-window, click click click and done", it's "aim your mouse to the column titlebar, right-click for menu, pick the item, aim your mouse again on the column bar, right-click, etc" Driving me crazy.  - Automatic 'Tentative' accept of calendar invitations not working - Hello all, 1) It was with great relish that I removed Office 2004, installed Office 2008, and built a fresh identity recently - because I read that the problem with Entourage not automatically accepting invitations and adding them as 'Tentative' to the calendar had been fixed. My sodding invites still have to be read, and I still have to click one of the response buttons for anything to appear in the calendar. It's caused me to miss meetings in the past and nothing I've tried via Database Verification or Rebuild has helped. Did I miss an announcement regarding a bug here, or does anybody know if I'm missing a very simple setting in Preferences, etc? This one thing in particular drives me insane. 2) Timezones and emails (including invites) - if I email messages from my Exchange (2003) server and my Leopard (10.5.1) MacBook Pro is in say, EST, and I then later move back to PST - the blasted emails remain fixed with a timestamp that reflects when I downloaded them in EST. This is completely the reverse of how things work in Outlook (from about 2000 onwards if I recall correctly). One of the most obvious effects is in the conversation view - older emails appear to be newer, which basically breaks the conversation view. It's the same in the Inbox list although easier to think about and deal with. Frankly, in a corporate office environment people receive lots of email (I get 300 to 500 a day, depending) and lots of calendar invites and updates (I get probably 2 dozen a day) and whilst I love my Macbook, I spend more time managing email than I ever did in Outlook (so much that I'm thinking of moving back).  - Office 2004 for MAC/Using Exchange server Hi, I have a user with OS-X 10.4 using Entourage (Office 2004 for Mac) connected to our Exchange server. The folders window on the left pane lists "Folders on My Computer" and below that the user name associated with their Exchange account where they normally receive their mail. This user belongs a mail group as well, until recently they have never received mail in the inbox of "Folders on My Computer" Now mail is being directed to both inboxes randomly and becoming quite a headache for this user.  - Different address books I need to set up seperate address books. I am having diffiiculties doing this. I was a previous pc user and microsoft outlook allowed me to make different address books. I do not want to confuse my contacts but it only recognizes them in the original address book.  - Anyone using Kerberos authentication with Exchange? We have ran into an issue where the Kerberos password is being remembered even though it is being told not to.  - Calendar date will not change from 1970!!!! For some reason when I try and use the calendar to set up an appointment or recurring event the date defaults to todays date (Feb. 8th for instance) 1970. I can type in the correct date or go to it using the calendar icon, it will appear in the field for the date and as soon as I try and save it it changes to 1970.  - HTML format in Entourage 2004 email Hi, when I cut and paste an HTML text from a web page into the body of an email, I am loosing part of the format even if I have clicked the html format.  - Entourage 2008 - garbled emails in Sent Items folder when sent from When I send an email from my handheld pda (a BlackJack running Windows Mobile 5) the message is processed through our exchange server and when I view my Sent Items folder from within Outlook 2007 or Outlook Web Access (OWA) the message appears along with all messages I have sent directly from the desktop - there is no distinction between messages sent via PDA and those sent from the desktop. But, when I view my Sent Items folder from within Entourage 2008, the messages sent via PDA (A) do not have a subject, (B) are time stamped at the time I started Entourage 2008 rather than the time received by Exchange server, and (C) are completely garbled with all of the internet header information and all HTML code etc. I have seen a number of others discuss this problem with respect to Motorola Qs and Blackberry's in various forums and no one seems to have an answer. Is this simply another Entourage incompatibility? Is there an Exchange server issue I can ask our IT manager to look into (we use Exchange Server 2003)? I am trying to eliminate Parallels from my life but Entourage is making it quite difficult ;-) Any tips would be appreciated.  - Entourage 2004 Tasks I went to print a daily calendar, which includes a list of tasks at the right. However, among the tasks that appear, there are tasks which I have already deleted or completed. Why do they keep showing up there? I might add that these tasks are no longer listed in the main task list or are correctly listed as completed. So what is the daily calendar populating tasks from?  - Edit subject of received message In Entourage 2004 I used to be able to edit the subject of a received message to make it more appropriate for my filed records.  - Calendar week view This seems like it should be very basic, but I can't figure out how to do it. When I look at one of the week views, it always shows me all seven days (or five, if I'm viewing work week) of the current week - even if it's FRIDAY. Our campus just switched from MeetingMaker (and glad to be rid of it), but it had one advantage - if I wanted to look at the next several days, it would let me. In Entourage, if it's Friday, I can't look at today and the next several days in my calendar. I have to jump to next week, then I can't see today. Not very convenient for planning out my next several days. The "Next 7 Days" calendar view script that comes with it doesn't work right, because recurring events don't show up on the day they happen - they show up on the day I put them in, which could be months or even years ago.  - lost Imap folders Hello, After a server rebuild I connected to exchange using IMAP and entourage 2004. Almost immediately all my IMAP folders disappeared and my mail was lost. Short of restoring my mailbox on the exchange server is there ANY way possible to extract my messages from my local entourage ( office ) database file. I poked around in the database file a bit and it appears lots of my messages are still there. How can I get them back? Are there any companies out there that specialize in this sort of recovery specific to entourage? Does anyone know what mechanism is used by entourage to remove the folders? I assume they are really still there in the database file but marked deleted somehow or perhaps my entire mailbox was replaced with a new one and what I really need to do is get back to the original mailbox. If I have something highlighted in an email and hit reply, only that highlighted text is in quoted in the reply email.  - How do you import contacts from Mac address book into Entourage Just installed Office and like what I see in Entourage (long for the old days in Outlook since moving to the Mac).  - Exporting contacts by category I have 3000+ contacts and want to export only certain groups as a tab deliniated file. Cannot figure out how to do this. It only lets me export the entire data set. I'm sure this is one of those "WHAT's the MATTER WITH ME?" questions... but I've been using Entourage 2008 for 15 hours and suddenly I can't "send" e-mail. I've sent at least 10 emails this morning and now when I hit send, it "compresses attachment" but the e-mail stays there. I restarted and found three of the questionable e-mail in the Draft folder. Computer is on line-I can connect to any website I want, though for some reason the " Entoruage Help" program thought I wasn't connected- something I'd bet is significant. 
 
Be gentle with me. I'm not new at this, but suddenly feel that way.

Well, I solved this, but I'm still confused. I had three attachments, totaling less than a 1.5 Megabytes. I removed the largest file, 828 KB, then sent it separately, and it went. I didn't have a size limit on Office 2004- maybe I should, but I didn't. Can I adjust a setting or make adjustments?
