 - Calendar does not take future events I enter an event for a date in the future outside the current month and it puts it in the current month on the same numbered day. I cannot span a date outside the current month, and when I try to schedule an event say, 6 months in advance, I get a message that it is an event in the past and puts it on th same number day in the current month.  - Entourage 2004 issues Hello! I have been using Entourage 2004 without a hiccup on my iBoook for over 2 years. However, about a month ago Entourage started to check and update my inbox, all my sub folders under my inbox, sent items folder, and deleted items at random. This is quite annoying because every time it checks these folders my arrow turns into a spinning ball and I am frozen from replying to email. I went into tools, run schedule, edit schedule to change the schedule without any success. It still checks all these folders at random. All I want to do is receive mail according to no set schedule. In other words I only receive mail in my inbox when I hit the send & receive button.  - How do you insert a link in an email message? In Apple's Mail, you can highlight a word or several words in an email body, go to the Edit menu, and then select Link -> Add... and a box pops up where you can type or paste in a link. When you close the box, the word(s) you highlighted become hyperlinked to whatever link you entered into the box. It's a great way to insert/embed links in an email rather than filling your message with visible (and often long and ugly) URLs. Is there any way to do this with Entourage 2008? Thanks.  - Square at the end of each line of copy I have several problems: 1. I have a square at the end of each line of copy. When I use the apostrophe key it acts like a hard return and moves my cursor to the next line. 2. My font sizes change and enlarge without any effort on my part.  - Problem forwarding HTML emails I've had this problem in Entourage 2004 and unfortunately it's still in Entourage 2008. I think it's a bug, or else bad design, but maybe it's something I'm doing?? Here's the deal: I get a really nicely formatted HTML email, complete with graphics, from a professional source (newsletter, company, etc.) I want to share it with colleagues. I hit FORWARD and suddenly instead of the nicely formatted HTML, it loses the graphics completely and displays HTML tags in brackets -- i.e., the full URL's. How can I forward a message with HTML graphics?? This really makes me look unprofessional when I try to pass along info. It's worse than forwarding on a BlackBerry. HELP!! Totally unacceptable. In Outlook I can forward the same emails fine, no problem, but they just turn into tag gibberish on Entourage. BTW, I do have my default format set to HTML in the preferences.  - Mail not coming to my sub folders I have an "Inbox" folder and 2 subfolders listing my 2 email identities within Entourage version 12.0.0. Just installed Microsoft Office 2008 yesterday so settings changed apparently, and I'd like them back. I'd like all the email to one address to go to the appropriate sub folder identity.  - Entourage 08 - Missing items from the Toolbar Entourage 2004 had a handy feature on the New E-Mail Toolbar that allowed me to move a message to a specific folder after it was sent. This is missing in Entourage 2008; it seems to be tucked away inside the Message menu, with no way to replace it back onto the toolbar. I'm disappointed. In the industry I work in, we are required by law to retain all correspondence both in and out, so I move all sent messages to a sub-folder specific to each client. Is there any way to script this feature back in? In today's era of "CYA on all corporate communications", I'm surprised this feature was made less accessible.  - Entourage 2008 db corrupt & fails continously after initial import Well, I got Office 2008 yesterday and installed it immediately. Everything went swimmingly. I love it. I opened Entourage and was prompted to import my old identity. Note: I use exchange and have a huge mailbox. Total size of items to import: 17.1gb. I ran through the import process which completed in ~4 hrs or so. Enterourage opened, and everything worked great. I used it for about half the day in the office. I eventually noticed that email wasn't updating in my entourage (my pc desktop outlook had 20 newer messages..) so I closed entourage and reopened. On reopening I was prompted with a corrupt db message and asked to repair. The repair takes approx 3-4 hours to run, and the microsoft db repair utility eventually crashes. It prompts to send a report and to be helpful I went ahead and did this. I've tried a few things - rebooting and running the repair utility, etc. to no avail. It looks like I'll need to dump this db and start over.. but I'm hoping not. Any insight or guidance on what I might try would be appreciated.  - Entourage 2008 auto LF's Now that Entourage 2008 is released can someone tell me if it still adds automatic LF's (line feeds) after 72 characters.  - Address Book (Entourage 2008) sync with Exchange Contacts problem I have had this problem in both the beta version of Entourage 2008 and the full release. I cannot get my Exchange contacts to sync to the Entourage 2008 Address Book Contacts folder. Everything else seems to work ok and the status indicates that the sync is taking place, but the Contacts folder in Address Book remains empty.  - No New Mail Sound HI I have Entourage 2008 installed on Leopard & while everything was ok with Entourage 2004....I am having a few issues with the 2008 as follows... No new mail sound notification. Yet When I receive junk mail I get a notification sound.. When entourage has been left open the 'sent mail' sound notification no longer works Has anyone else had these problems? If so how did you fix them.  - How to export/import a *particular* calendar with Berkowitz I'm trying to export and then import one specific calendar from Entourage 2004. I've got a local one ("On this computer") and one on an Exchange server. I've got Paul Berkowitz's excellent set of scripts but I can't figure out how to make it act within one particular calendar.  - Entourage 2008 Generally pleased with Office 2008. Switched back to Entourage after a year of using Apple Mail. Word is a major improvement in speed and ease of use. However I cannot seem to enter an event in the Entourage calendar. Entered a meeting for Jan 18 2008, saved it and the date in the Event Panel immediately jumped to 2010!  - Can't import my V.x entourage identities I cannot import my old data into 2008 Entourage. When I do the import operation it sees the two identities but instantly returns. There are thousands of messages. I did this on my laptop and it worked perfectly. Using a G4 Mac, 10.4.11 from V.X. I need to understand how to proceed. The data base is about 3.5 GB!!!  - Bad Local Calendar - Entourage 2008 I have a corrupt local calendar. I don't use it anymore, as I have an Exchange calendar that is now my primary calendar. However, if I ever launch the local calendar, it crashes the Database Daemon. I think this is also why My Day also crashes on Entourage 2008.  - Security Message in Entourage 2008 I upgraded to Office 2008 (Std upgrade) last night. Now when I download email from my ISP, I am getting a yellow band under the From/To area of an email that has an open envelope icon and the words "For your security, Entourage will block submission of this form." II have searched the Help topics area of the program and previous threads on this forum trying to locate the schematics of this "band," which I never had in Office 2004 - no luck, so far.  - Importing into Entourage 2008 I installed Office 2008 today and launched Entourage. I asked it to import my 3.1 gig database from Entourage v. X. It saw it where it had been preserved in the Microsoft User Data folder and agreed to do the import, but claimed it was complete a second later and asked me to click the "finish" button, and it had imported nothing. I tried navigating to a copy of the database on an external hard drive and the result was the same.  - Sound Set in Entourage 2008 Gone? Just installed Office 2008 on a 10.5.1 MacBook Pro and working great. Only complaint is other than the opening "chime" all the other notification sounds no longer play. I have restarted, confirmed that the Entourage Sound Set file is still under my Microsoft User Data Folder, but nothing plays anymore. While this isn't a major issue, I am in another part of the office and I rely on the audible notification for new messages so I don't have to go back and check every few min.  - How do I change my status for an accepted calendar event? If I accept an invite and it goes to my calendar, how do I later change my status and notify the inviter? I don't have "accept/tentative/decline" buttons available in the calendar items. For example I want to decline a specific invite in a recurring event, but only "delete" is possible and this does not seem to notify the organizer.  - Syncing Entourage calendars I'm still having trouble getting the Entourage calendar from my main computer (Mac OS 10.4.11) to my laptop (same OS). Someone on this listserv alerted me to the fact that Sync will look in iCal for an Entourage calendar. But I seem to be missing a step that tells it to look for an Entourage calendar. I saw the post from Michel Bintener "Re: iCal sync does not work in Entourage" which almost answers my question.  - More sync hell I've been syncing Ical and Address Book very happily with my Nokia N95 for some time. First sync with Entourage around.... every contact is duplicated. I'd advise any new user to make a backup of address book before syncing and be prepared to go through the tedious routine of resetting the .Mac sync store to get this right. I am OK now. In 2004, if you accepted a meeting, the Calendar the meeting with the message shows up but not the attachment, requiring a user to keep a copy of the meeting notice in the Inbox. I assume this means it doesn't support WebDAV while the standard edition does.  - Does Entourage 2008 Support Resource Booking? (conference rooms) This isn't supported in 2004, but is a key feature for me to upgrade.  - Sync Palm Treo 700P with Entourage 2004 I have a PowerBook G4 1.25 running OS 10.4.11. Installed on it is Entourage 2004. I recently purchased a Palm Treo 700P and heard that it will sync with Entourage. What I have tried has failed. I downloaded Handheld Sync Installer but when I try to install it I am told the installation failed because the Microsoft Component Plugin was not found. If I do a search for the Microsoft Component Plugin I can locate it in: Applications > Microsoft Office 2004 > Office > Microsoft Component Plugin. Is this in the wrong place, do I need a newer updater? This one seems old from I believe 2002 or sometime a little while back. Strange behavior: regardless of the method, entering the date manually, clicking on the calendar icons next to the date, attempting to change the date of an existing event, impossible to enter a January 22nd 7pm (for example) event, Entourage changes the date to one in the past as I Save/Close and complains the event is in the past. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, JLG
