At least it doesn't show up on the hard drive. Any assistance would be appreciated as we've just switched to an iMAC G5 (ver.10.4.2) and also just bought an iBook G4.  - Help with Identities please? Hi I seem to have built up a number of identities over time. Some are backups, some just have different names. I don't really understand why I have all these different identities although I do have 3 email address's but they are all visible and usable under the one identity I do everything in. I would like to clean up Entourage and delete these old identities BUT I do not want to lose any of my emails. How do I do this? Your help is much appreciated.  - Calendar events times display wrong In Entourage 2004 (fully updated) Calendar, events show the wrong time (and sometimes are even displayed on the wrong date) than what was originally entered. This is true for all views (Month, Workweek, etc.). For instance, I may create an event to "Brush Teeth" on August 29 at 5:00 PM, but in the month view it displays as 10:00 AM. If I double-click on the event then the time/date will be correct in the event's window. However, sometimes when I double-click on an event it will MOVE to a different date and time -- for no reason.  - Entourage sends, but takes many many hours to deliver... For the past two days, Entourage has been taking hours and hours to deliver my emails. It sends right away, but the recipients aren?t getting the emails to hours, or even a day later. I checked with my server guy and it appears to be Entourage, rather than our email server. I really don?t know why this started happening, as I haven?t changed any settings in Entourage.  - Disable or remove the "Junk" button? is there any way to disable or remove the "Junk" button? It's pretty irritating because I don't get "junk" yet that blasted button is there beside the"Delete" button just to make the application difficult. Once a legitimate email is in the Junk folder Entourage makes it especially troublesome to retrieve it, forcing me to read and answer a dialog that offers the wrong default choice. It's so... Windowsesque. Additionally, I would like to remove the "Print" button since I never use it.  - Phantom unread news item Sometimes Entourage will boldface a newsgroup's mailbox/folder/server line (including this group's) as though there's an unread news item in it. However, View is set to Unread Only and shows no messages in it: "There are no unread messages in this folder." If I click on Mark All Read the boldface will go away as expected.  - Application Entourage has unexpectedly quit Entourage X (with SR1) on Tiger has started giving this message along with an Apple "report this error" dialog whenever I quit the program or try to switch identities. Entourage seems to work fine otherwise, and has 50,000 messages in the database. I did an advanced rebuild and it still is happening.  - Read / delivered receipts I work with outlook at work, but use entourage on my Mac at home to access both private emails and work emails from the company's exchange server. I don't seem to be able - in entourage - to ask for delivery or read receipts. Surely there's a way, just like in outlook, but I'm missing it somewhere along the way. Thanks for your help.  - updating email from outlook express I working on the Mac os10.35 version. My email account has been with outlook express, but in order to access my email I have to go back to the 9 version to open it. I have Microsoft office on the os10 and entourage is installed but it looks like it only transferred messages from before it was installed up until the day or two after it was installed. How do I switch over so that my mail comes to entourage and will all that is on outlook express automatically transfer over or do I need to somehow manually save all the outlook express information?  - Font size I recently installed Tiger 10.4.2 and was delighted when all went smoothly and without a hitch. The last two days, however, I am puzzled by a sudden change in the font size and quality of the displayed characters, especially in Entourage (from Mac Office X). I have eliminated all non western characters (Chinese, Japanese and all other Asian characters), updated the Office X software to the latest version but still the letters appear tiny, squiggly, or ragged. Also when I write mail it writes it in the font selected and looks great. When I edit the text and replace a word, the replaced word appears in the tiny, squiggly size. And last, the pointer/cursor icon appears larger than it used to be and its edges look ragged. Not a pretty picture. Ii it possible that I have messed up somewhere the preferences of some application without me knowing it? I am pretty unhappy and am laboring with this now for two days.  - Forwarding a hyperlinked email in entourage Ok... here's my problem. In word, I've created a document that has a hyperlinked jpeg (linked to a website.) When I send that document through "send to receipient - as html" (still in word) - which brings up entourage to email it - it works fine. (I emailed it to myself as a test.) Then when I try to forward that same email - in entourage, it changes. The jpeg losses it's link and the url shows up beside the picture instead. What I would like to do is be able to forward the linked image in entourage (it works fine in other email accounts) and have it remain the same. I don't want the url to show up in writing beside it, I would like the picture to stay hyperlinked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  - How do I delete all Entourage Calendar events older than 1 month? After moving my Entourage 11.1.0 Calendar over to my Palm Treo 600 ... any word/number searches I do causes the Treo to crash. My goal is to wipe out any old data (say everything older than 1 month) in Calendar to clean out any corrupted data and start from there. I set Entourage preferences to delete any non-recurring events older than 1 month - but they remain in Calendar. Any ideas?  - Date display problem When adding a new task or calendar event in Entourage 2004, the display of the specified date is screwed up. Specifically, if I open the calendar and select Sept. 8, 2005 for an event, the date of the event ends up being displayed as: Thu, Sep, 2005 Thus the day gets left out. This happens every time for every entry. I think the day is being stored correctly, as it shows up on the calendar dialog after I save it. Any idea how to address this problem?  - Corrupted (?) database; upgrade to 2004 not connecting to I'm running Entourage v.X on a Mac with Panther (10.3.9). I've got the latest patches from Microsoft applied. My identity database was about 2.6 Gigs and everything was working fine for about a year. In the last couple of days, I've had the following problems, which I'm hoping someone can help me with. First, I have a number of identities, in order to get around the 4 Gig limit problem. I noticed that one of my older identities (which I hadn't used in a long time but which used to work fine, used to look up old emails) had been blanked out - all the messages were gone and the file size of the database was down to some small Kb size. Very weird. A little while later, Entourage wouldn't start - said database needed to be rebuilt. I tried a couple of times to do the "typical rebuild", and each time it would go to almost the end, and then quit saying the disk was too full to continue. I have 125 Gigs available on my disk... In the meantime, Microsoft Word started putting up the error "An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework X library" whenever I started Word. I looked it up on the web and it said something about locked files in the identity folder, but I had no such locked files. I thought that upgrading to Office 2004 might fix this (if it was better able to deal with large files and might have fixed whatever bug caused it to think it was running out of disk space) so I downloaded the Office 2004 test drive and installed it on another machine. It installed ok and supposedly imported all of my Entourage info, but it didn't seem to connect to our Exchange server even though the account settings had been imported. I ended up having to restore my Entourage identity database from the previous night's backup - everything works (Entourage and Word) but I lost the day's saved emails of course. Could someone please help me with the following questions: 1) Entourage v.X - the limit is 4 Gigs, not 2 Gigs, right? 2) any reason why an old identity database might get completely blanked out? The file wasn't deleted (it wasn't a file system problem) - it's there, just empty of messages when I switch to it (and has a modify date of last week - and I didn't switch to it last week, so no one used it then!). 3) is there anything I should know about upgrading to Office 2004? Is it better than v.X with database problems (i.e., is it worth it)? And, what do I need to do, besides choosing "import from Entourage" when running it for the first time, to get it to actually sync with our Exchange server like my v.X does? 4) what is this Framework X library problem and what else can cause it besides locked files?  - Problem with Importing events?? I'm using Entourage X under OS 10.3.9 and getting ready to upgrade to Tiger. I'm debating whether to spring for the Tiger-compatible version of Now Up-to-Date and Contact or whether I can do it all in Entourage, which I already use for mail (because it does newsgroups). I would appreciate the integration. So... I just had Entourage import my Now Up-to-Date file, and, while Entourage said it was successful, there appear to be some problems: first, all my repeating events have been imported as individual occurrences - they're all there but they're separate events - even though Entourage supports repeating events. Next all friends' birthdays, which are recorded as 'Specials' in Up-to-Date, are missing, as is a 'Banner' for an upcoming holiday. Is this Entourage's idea of successfully importing a Now Up-to-Date file, or did I do something wrong?  - Entourage 2004 +MSEXCH +Public Folder Hello, forum! I have some troubles with using subject. Our company using public folder feature to share files and messages accross network. There are no problems with messages in public folders but files are not visible. In Entourage Help written: " Only e-mail messages will appear. Other item types that might be in the public folder, such as Calendar events or tasks, will not appear in Entourage". Is there are any ways to make files in public folders visible? When someone user sents the Calendar Event with some comments in message body to other users, the user of Entourage 2004 are unable to see message body? Any idea to fix it? We are using 10.3.9 with Russian primary language script. When i setup primary language script to English some old messages are download to users inbox folder.  - How do I delete folders from the "Move" menu in Entourage 11.1.0? I recently switched from Eudora to Entourage, simultaneously changing to Exchange. I had imported all my old folders from Eudora, but had to copy them after a few days into the new Exchange account. I then deleted the originals. The problem is that when I use the "Move" menu to file a message, it still shows me the old, now deleted folders along with the new Exchange-based folders. After 10+ years of the robust, but only nominally-mac-supported Eudora Pro, we recently migrated over to Entourage for our e-mail-intensive business. Anong other requirements, we use more than 20 separate signatures, and the Mac-resident MAIL program just didn't seem hearty enough for our needs. I've searched Entourage up, down, and six ways to Sunday, looking for the ability to send an e-mail with RETURN RECEIPT. Could it really be true that this crucial tool was not included in Entourage, or am I using the wrong program?  - Entourage with HTTP Exchange server Hi, Love being on a Mac, but hate being on my own. My IT dept standard reply to my Q's is "you shouldn't be using a Mac..." Anyway, previously we ONLY had OWA access to our corporate email, they recently opened it up so we can use Outlook 2003 over HTTP to access our exchange server. To get this to function, I need to configure setting in the Outlook "Exchange Proxy Settings" section. I don't find similar options in Entourage.  - Need help please I am running OS X Panther, and using Entourage for email. Occasionally... at least once a day.. I receive email that looks like gibberish... I can hit reply and read the body copy, but, that is the only way I can... if the email happens to have a link of some sort in it.. the link does not translate in the reply and I have to go back to the original email and look for the blue letters and hope I get the right link.  - Spinning wheel when connected to Exchange When I use Entourage connected to my Exchange server, I get the little spinning rainbow wheel a lot. This occurs primarily when I am typing an email, appointment, task, etc. Sometimes the wheel takes 3-5 seconds to go away, other times it takes up to 15-20 seconds. I can keep typing while the wheel is up, and it catches up when the wheel goes away. It doesn't matter whether Entourage is actually connecting to the Exchange server or not. When I'm not online with the Exchange server, I don't notice the spinning wheel. I have tried running this on its' own with no other apps. I don't notice any drop in CPU time or RAM (I have a 1.67 GHz G4 Powerbook with 1.5 GB RAM and plenty of disk space) Any ideas? It's not life threatening, but it sure is a pain.  - .msg file types I've saved a bunch of Outlook files from my work PC (all zipped) and emailed them to my Gmai account for viewing. The only thing is that my Mac won't recognize these files. Is there some reason that Entourage can't open these? I click on the file and all it does is open a new email with the zipped file as an attachment. I am getting "could not open the attachment, an unknown error (-5000) occurred" error message. But I save the attachment to the disk, I can open the file. I tried following actions; 1- Create a new user and log in it, 2- Remove Office and reinstall, 3- Delete database from Identities folder, problem continues with blank database, 4- Control the permission on Office folder -->it was read and write 5- Verified disk permissions, using disk utility, But my problem continues.  - Outgoing Email Hangs Why does outgoing email sometimes hang for unusually longer periods (perhaps a minute) with the last kbs. Is there anything to be done to expedite this? It seems currently, my shift to Adelphia cable has resulted in an increase in this hang time. I do not recall the former Verizon DSl hanging this long.  - Issues importing from an archive. Moving from powerbook to powerbook, I archived my mail, notes and tasks and on trying to import I keep on getting an error saying that I stopped the import (BUT I DIDN'T!). Apart from the frustrating error message, is there another way to get these items in to my new profile? Looks like the archive is a package, can I 'show contents' and import that way?  - logon failure if Exchange alias/username same in forest Hi, Entourage 2004 (11.1.0) on Mac OS X 10.3.9 is giving me: "logon failure: unknown user name or bad password" We're speculating this occurs whenever there is another user with the same F+LAST alias in the GAL -OR- same username in AD in a different domain (changing the alias didn't seem to help). We are a child domain. e.g. at Entourage prompt, we type: account: OURDOMAIN\jsmith password: ******** and get the bad password message. OWA and Outlook 2003/PC work fine. Password is fine. Keychain is fine. In our Exchange org, we have: Smith, Janet (SMTP: jsmith@parentdomain.com) Smith, Jed (SMTP: jsmith@oursubdomain.com) <- changed from default UPN of @sub.parent.com; oursubdomain.com exists in our DNS) Note that the email address entered in the account/password dialog is the FQDN on the Exchange Email Addresses tab, which is unique to the entire organization/forest/site. We think it's doing it because there is another "jsmith" elsewhere in the forest, but shouldn't Entourage recognize this is in a different domain?  - Adressbook sync with Exchange broken in 10.4.2 I've been unable to sync my Addressbook with Exchange since moving to 10.4.x It worked fine in 10.3.9. Although my ISP (WinISP) did move buildings recently and things weren't working right for a while. Now I can connect to WinISP with Entourage 2004 but I can't sync with Addressbook. I have it setup in Addressbook options and my credentials are supposedly accepted but I don't see the Exchange option in iSync and nothing shows up in the iSync log when syncing. I'm getting this message before my email address. I thought I'd
unstalled the test drive before installing Office for the MAC. At
least it doesn't show up on the hard drive.

Any assistance would be appreciated as we've just switched to an iMAC
G5 (ver.10.4.2) and also just bought an iBook G4.

Also, I'm moving so may not be checking this site for a few days.
Don't think I'm ignoring you.

Select 'Accounts' from the tools menu, and double-click on the main account
to open it for editing the settings. You should be able to correct the name
in these dialogs.
