How do I remove messages from this group? There seems to be no delete
option. Also, I can't receive any messages to my INBOX. I can send ok
though--any ideas?

Thanks!

You can't really delete messages since they are on the news server. What you
have are copies, held in cache. To empty the cache and refresh the list with
only unread messages, Control-click on the News Server that contains your
group, and select "Empty cache" from the popup menu.

This will delete the cache for ALL NEWSGROUPS from that server.

NOTE CAREFULLY: If you have newsgroup messages that you DO NOT want to have
deleted, you will have to copy them before purging the cache. To copy, just
use the Move command to make a copy of the message in another folder such as
your main Inbox. Or, you can drag and drop messages to make copies. There is
no way to selectively purge the newsgroup cache; it's all or nothing, and
only unread messages will remain (actually, the headers will be freshly
downloaded) after emptying the cache. I know of no way, in Entourage, to
retrieve a message from the server once you've read it and deleted it from
the cache. However, other news reader programs, such as MTNewswatcher or
Unison, have the ability to search the server for messages.

This is a newsgroup. The messages are on the MS server. You cannot delete
them. If you no longer wish to receive messages from the newsgroup, delete
the account under Tools --> Account --> News

You question about receiving message is a bit vague. Look over the help for
Send & Receive and if you still have problems report back with more details.

Another option in Entourage is to hide read messages. If you still want
to participate in the group but don't want the clutter of things you've
already seen then go into the newsgroup and then select Unread Only from
the View menu.

Hope this helps! bill

You can remove individual messages from the listing though using a rule,
which is especially useful if they contain offensive content. Go to Tools >
Rules, click the "News" tab, and click "New". Create a rule that looks like
this:

Name: Do not show messages
*Execute if any criteria are met
IF All Messages
THEN Do not show article

Make sure the "Enabled" checkbox remains unchecked. Now, you can select and
remove items by going to Message > Apply Rule > Do not show messages.
