I've always been under the impression that the Database in the MUD folder
was where Microsoft saved all of the Entourage data--contacts, events,
tasks, notes, etc.

However, when browsing my User folder's cache folder, I came across a
Metadata folder that seemed to contain everything also (as .vRgexxx files).

Is this really a 2nd copy of everything that's in the database? If not,
please explain what the difference is between the two contents and what the
Metadata .vRGe files are used for.

These are the Spotlight cache files. The contents are the first 75K of a
message body.
