 - Drag and drop attachments to iPhoto I'm quite a newbie, running OSX Leopard, iPhoto 8, and Office for Mac 2008. Before installing Office for Mac, I was using Apple Mail, and I was able to drag and drop photo attachments directly on the iPhoto icon on the dock. iPhoto does not seem to allow the same procedure from Entourage, though - dragging a jpg, for example, directly on the iPhot icon on the dock, does not launch iPhoto, nor does it add the photo. I CAN drag the photo to the desktop, THEN to iPhoto, and THEN to the trash. Messy/awkward/too many steps. What am I missing, or what is the correct procedure? -- Hal Tag: Database Crash Tag: 93639

 - BES MAIL NOT SYNCING TO ENTOURAGE SENT FOLDER Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange We are using Exchange 2003 for corporate mail along with the Blackberry Enterprise Server for BB handheld mail. Until I installed Office for MAC 2008, all mail sent from my BB handheld synched to the Entourage "Sent folder." Now, all BB handheld mail does not sync to Entourage even though I can access it through Outlook Web (OWA) in the Exchange sent folder. Also, since Leopard and Office 2008 were installed, I get "Not connected" message on my entourage Exchange account over and over and have to close and relaunch Entourage. I've assigned categories to my contacts in my address book and have selected the preference to "Automatically match message categories to senders' categories."  - Entourage Junk Mail Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Email Client: pop Since recently switching to Mac and using Entourage, I am struggling with the Junk Email folder. My preference would be that this folder is not highlighted with the HUGE quantity of junk emails (the number is listed in brackets when they are received). In summary, I am looking to minimize the impact as when they constantly arrive, my eye is drawn to the junk email folder. "Error: - 3260" Of course, I'm online when this happens and able to access other internet stuff. What really stinks is that now all of my emails in my Yahoo account are gone.  - Entourage 2004/ MS Exchange 2003 / Multiple Email Addresses Hi, I have 2 email addresses both on the same MS Exchange 2003 server, I use Entourage 2004 and I need to be able to: 1. send emails from both addresses (should I add both exchange accounts on entourage or delegate or is there a better workaround) 2. use a different signature for both.  - Entourage and Exchange GAL Hi everyone! Does anyone know what protocol Entourage (2004 or 2008) uses to lookup Exchange contacts in GAL. I guess what I am trying to find out is how exactly does Entourage connect to the GAL? We seem to be having an issue where some contacts at other site locations do not populate within the list when typing a persons email address or name in the To field. And even when we use the Check Name button, they still do not appear. But on the PC end they do appear. I was wondering if maybe it had something to do with the information added to the Advanced tab of the Exchange account when configured.  - Reply arrow not syncing between Entourage and Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I use both Entourage 2008 and Outlook 2003 using the same Exchange account. The reply flag that lets you visually know when you've replied to only shows up on the client you actually reply to the email from. For instance, I reply to an email in Entourage 2008 on my Macbook Pro, then later that day switch over to using Outlook 2003 on my work desktop computer, but I do not see the "reply" arrow indicating that I already replied to that email. And, vice versa... the same things happens if I reply from Outlook... the arrow does not show up in Entourage. It would seem like this is an Exchange problem... does anyone have this same problem or a fix for this? It has been driving me and a lot of other people crazy in our company.  - 2 Questions 1. How can I delete addresses of people that show up in the send box? For example I compose a message and I type L and a name pops up. This person is not in my contact list and I want to delete this person from that quickfill or whatever field. 2. Also I cant seem to run MS Update from within Entourage.  - I/O Error When I attempt to open Entourage I get a message stating that I should it cannot access the database and I should rebuild it. When I attempt to do that I get an I/O error. I have verified the disk using the disk utility and all seems fine. I tried to create another identity/database and I get an error-36. Anyone with any ideas where to turn to next.  - How do I get Entourage to start Syncing Address Book again? Entourage 2008 (12.0.1) Synchronize contacts with Address Book and .Mac (though I don't use .Mac) was working fine (as it did with Entourage 2004) until last week when it suddenly stopped working AFTER it wiped my Address Book contacts! It's the simplest kind of Sync -- just replace my startup disk's Address Book contacts with my startup disk's Entourage contacts (I'm not on a network, or syncing to/from a peripheral drive, or anything else complicated, and I only have one Entourage identity) -- but it just stopped working. I tried rebuilding permissions, running maintenance scripts and cleaning caches using Onyx 1.9.4b2, and restarting, but nothing helped. Luckily, I was able to restore an old Address Book contacts from my Time Machine disk and then turned Synch Services off. But what is causing this? How do I fix it?  - Split/broken recipient when replying or forwarding Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange Hello, We're in the process of rolling out Office 2008 on ~100 Macs at our office and we've run into a show stopper with Entourage 2008. If you receive and e-mail from a sender with a comma and a character such as åäö or an apostrophe in their name, the recipient address breaks/splits in half when replying or forwarding. If, for example, I receive an e-mail from a sender who has their name entered in this fasion: "Bivrén, John", I cannt reply to his e-mail without manually deleting the To: adresses and re-entering it manually. This was not the case with Entourage 2004 and other e-mail clients such as Apple Mail or Outlook 2003/2007 on Windows. Please advice. Or preferably, issue a fix for this bug. Thank you. I Tried to connect entourage to this Address using the https://..../exchange OWA Address and the user@exampledomain.de userid/password that works fine with the Web Client. Domain.de is obviously for our domain After a short pause entourage displays the error message Mail could not be received at this time. The server for account ³xxxx² returned the error ³Logon failure: unknown username or bad password.² Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. .... I am at a loss what should I have for AccountID: user@exampledomain.de Domain: blank password: xxxxx Or Must I put something in DOMAIN and if so what? I have tried every combination I can think of but must be missing something. Our provider is a Windows Bigot and will only support Outlook from Windows and although I will now change providers I would like to get this working. Also does the provider have to install something special on the server to support external Entourage? Thanks for any help even is it is just to tell me it can¹t be done.  - cannot start entourage/ corrupt database (serious issues-bsr) Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop Every time I try to open entourage, I get the following message: " entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild your database." When I click ok, I get the following window offering a typical or advanced rebuild. After clicking "typical rebuild" option, I get the following message: " compacting failed an unknown error (4356) occurred" Then I am given the advanced rebuild option. After selecting advanced rebuild, I get the following message " rebuilding failed- an unknown error (4356) occurred" After clicking ok- I get another message, "rebuilding failed. It is likely that your database cannot be repaired." I have also used apple disk utility, and tried to reinstall the ms office software but NOTHING IS WORKING!!! Bottom line. I have to access this database IMMEDIATELY and must salvage this. (I CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE THIS DATA) I know once I get it opened, I will have to get the database backed up right away, but I need help getting it back open. Please contact me asap. thanks.  - photos print too big Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: pop In Entourage 2004 I insert photos into an email newsletter. They send just fine. But when I print the email, the photos print much too big. They print full screen width, even when they are only half-screen width on the screen. This produces grainy prints that consume excess paper. How can I print Entourage emails WYSIWYG? P.S. I'm using a HP deskjet 940c printer.  - Entourage 2008 and Complex HTML Why is it that Outlook can forward an e-mail with complex HTML without turning it into unreadable garbage and Entourage 2008 still can't? Something as simple as forwarding an airline confirmation to my admin still can't be done in Entourage 2008. I see that there are a couple scripts that have been developed by power users to use complex HTML from a saved file, but I really am baffled as to why a user can't forward a message using it. I have a standard commercial copy of office 2008 and cannot get my day to sync between the two computers (I only use one at a time). I have a dot mac account and the email on both seems to sync okay, but not may day. I set up the entourage automatically and have set the sync services in the entourage preferences to sync. Also can you use alias email accounts with entourage in the same way as dot mac (i.e a drop does menu to pick with email alias you want to send your email under). I checked the Location of Microsoft files at <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/path/index.html#Custom_47857> and it has not been updated for Office 2008 Where should the Custom Dictionary for 2008 be located?  - Entering early 20th Century dates doesn't take... Hi all! I'm on a US system. (And I double-checked that my date/time/ international settings are all US). I'm trying to clean up some small address/calendar issues. I've been updating my relatives' birthdays, and some of them (thank goodness) have achieved a respectable age. Entering my grandfather's birthday in his address book card changes the date automatically as soon as I tab out of the birthday field. The date I'm trying to enter: 4/8/1918 switches to 4/8/1920. If I enter a recurring event on the calendar, the date does the same thing. Also, even though the date then reads 4/8/1920 on the calendar entry, trying to edit the recurrence gives me the option to have it recur every 4/7. If I click on the little calendar icon to graphically change the date, even though the date in the text box reads 4/8/1920, the highlighted date on the mini-calendar is 4/7/1920. If I use the mini-calendar to scroll back to the correct 4/8/1918 date, everything appears to enter properly, but as soon as I click in another area of the window--bam, back to 4/8/1920. It may be unrelated, but the little reminder window then reminds me that I missed the event on 4/7, even though on the main calendar window, the event shows as happening on 4/8. I had similar problems with several other events...particularly the reminder window being 1 day early. Anybody have ideas of things to check? Bugs? Problem existing between chair and keyboard?  - Erratic scroll wheel behavior in Entourage 2008 Has anyone else noticed erratic scroll wheel behavior in the preview window of Entourage 2008? I find that the scroll wheel works fine in other panes of the main Entourage window, but when trying to scroll an html-based e-mail in the preview pane, the scroll wheel is mostly unresponsive. The same message will scroll just fine if opened into a standalone window. The same behavior is shown with a Mighty Mouse, or with a Kensington mouse.  - Calendar items entered in OWA not showing in Entourage I have a MAC user that is having trouble with calendar events not showing up if he uses OWA (Safari), but does if he enters them using Entourage. From what he has explained to me is he enters items into his calendar at home using OWA, but when he plugs into the network here and launches Entourage during the day those items don't show up that he entered using OWA the night before. As a demo of what is happening he logged on to Entourage and OWA on his Mac. Then entered a appointment in Entourage calendar and it showed up in OWA and Entourage even if we exits both. Then he entered an appointment in OWA calendar, it shows up there in OWA but will not show in the Entourage Calendar even if he exits both. He can get back into OWA and the 2nd appointment will still be there. Does anyone have an idea what to even look for as a cause? Help! my entourage crashed with everything in it, that I need, I can still see the database in the list when I run the database utility but when I choose to rebuild it tell me the disk cannot be ground but I know its there, I can see it. What can I do? Someone mentioned something 3rd party out there for rebuilding but I can't find it online, help!
