 - Sending account signature ignored in saved emails When I save an email as a draft, and then open it later and change the sending (From) email address, the signature doesn't change to reflect the appropriate account. Signatures change automatically when changing the sending address in emails that have not been saved yet. This is a new behavior for me in 2008, i believe it worked fine in 2004.  - Server Error Messages Related To Address Book Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop This comes under the heading - 'Strange But True'. Can anyone help me with this one ? I'm trying to send email messages from Entourage via SMTP. Sometimes, on sending the mail after composition using the 'Send Now' button, I get one of three error messages with Entourage being unable to "send" the email: -17099. -17900, -3259. Now, if I use the Command+K (Send and Receive All) command immediately afterwards the email goes off quite happily. After some experimentation I have identified that this behaviour is only apparent using some email addresses from entries in the Entourage Address book. Substituting the email address, typing it by hand, removes the problem so it would appear that this is something to do with the entry in the Address Book. I have tried rebuilding the database but this seems to make no difference. I have deleted the Daemon, run Keychain First Aid, repaired Permissions (and probably some other stuff).  - Entourage 2008 Inbox will not Update We are using Entourage 2008 to read email from an Exchange 2003 server. The inbox does not update. The message is "Inbox Now Updating" displays perpetually on the bottom right of the screen. The last time this successfully ran was on Friday. All of the other folder update correctly I have tried all of the Suggestions from William Smith at www.ureader.com/msg/15897097.aspx The user is really disappointed.  - entourage quits immediately on launch Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop When I open Entourage, it opens the front screen, then tries to connect and log-on to the POP3 server. As soon as it detects any email to download it quits and I get the "Microsoft Entourage has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. This has happened right out of the blue, no new software, no strange emails. I was working in MS Word at the time. I've tried re-starting, but no luck. Any help is appreciated.  - PC Outlook to Apple Mail to Entourage Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Email Client: pop I just purchased a MAC and had the Apple store people transfer over my Outlook 2003 email to Apple Mail. Do not like Apple mail so I purchased Office 2008 with Entourage. Tried importing but it only brought the notes and deleted mails. Tried setting up new user and re-import but did not work.  - All incoming mail goes to Deleted Items Folder Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: pop Build 12.0.0.0 (071130) All incoming mail goes to Deleted Items Folder - I believe but maybe it's a coincidence - this only started to happen on a POP account after I had edited a POP rule and added another criterion to the rule I have deleted all rules I deleted all my POP and IMAP accounts - and recreated them - same result I deleted the Rules folder in Microsoft User Data->Office 2008 Identities->Main Identity And while junk mail continues to go to Junk - all other incoming mail whether it's going to multiple POP accounts or even my IMAP accounts, ends up in Deleted Items Thanks Tag: Database Corruption Tag: 92327

 - Filter not working in Exchange Public Folder address book When I try to filter the Exchange Public Folder address book by Name, there is no response; All names remain displayed. This feature works fine in my Folders on My Computer address book. Just installed 2008 a few days ago, then the current update. Not sure whether this problem existed before the update or not.  - Filter by: issue worse in Office 2008 I had this problem ocassionally in 2004, but 2008 seems more prone to it, and harder to get out of it: 1. Go to an address book. 2. Choose "Category is" or "Project is" in the filter drop-down. The text entry field used in "Name contains" or "Company contains" should be replaced by a drop-down of categories or projects. Here's a link: http://aycu11.webshots.com/image/49090/2003594652319438809_rs.jpg Sometime it isn't, so I have "Category is" followed by a text entry field. (Which doesn't work if you type the name of a category, btw.) 3. Sometimes the reverse is true also, in which case the "Name contains" filter has the category or project dropdown instead of a text field. I can't get this to happen right now to capture a screenshot, but I'm certain that it has. In Office 2004, switching back and forth between filter types a few times would usually clear it up temporarily. But in O 2008, it seems to get more persistantly stuck, requiring a restart.  - Sending an iPhoto I have my iPhoto preferences set to use Microsoft Entourage 2008 version 12.0.1 as my default email and when I select a photo in iPhoto version 7.1.3 I get a dialogue box that says "Mail Photo" where you can select size and it gives you photo count and estimated size etc. When I select "Compose" a drop down box appears for about 1 second, too short of a time for me to read, but I think it says composing then nothing else happens. I expected a new mail message to appear but that doesn't happen. My work around is to drag the photo to the desk top (it then is a big file size) and drag it in to a new mail message.  - Entourage 2008 / Exchange 2007 - Calendar Appointments Not Showing I have Entourage 2008 running on OS X 10.5.2 integrated with an Exchange Organization with mixed 2003 and 2007 servers with my mailbox just recently moved to the 2007 server. I'm a consultant in the Cisco UC and have several project managers and myself who are constantly editing my calendar and have several issues. - When someone else places an appointment on my calendar there is a 50% chance it won't show up in Entourage but it shows up in OWA and Outlook 2007 as well as everyone else is able to see it in their Outlook when they open my calendar. - Sometimes when I accept calendar invites Entourage will show one instance of the appointment but when you pull it up in OWA or Outlook 2007 there are two appointments on the calendar. - When I delete an appointment from my calendar sometimes it doesn't sync up to Exchange and while it shows up gone on my calendar under OWA and Outlook 2007 it's still there (and this is after multiple days of using Entourage with multiple times of synchronizing Is anyone else having problems like this?  - Calendar reminders disappear in Enourage 08, Exchange 07 Hello, I'm using Entourage 2008 (12.0.1) with Exchange 2007 as well as Outlook 2007. If I enter a birthday for a contact via Outlook, a reoccurring calendar reminder is automatically added to my Exchange calendar. As soon as Entourage syncs with Exchange, I get an overdue reminder via MyDay. Suddenly, Entourage wipes out the calendar entry in Exchange/Outlook. This is occurring over and over, no matter how many birthdays I enter into my contacts. I'm certain it's Entourage removing the entires, as its on a MBP and not always running (like my desktop is). Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any suggestions for preventing this from happening? Or do I need to chalk this up to one more reason to not use Entourage with Exchange?  - Exchange calendar issues I am running four devices to an exchange server, a Macbook Pro running OS10.5.2 and Entourage 12.0.1 ( successfully upgraded today after a second attempt with a clean reinstall), a Mac Mini running OS 10.5.2 and Entourage 11.4.0, a windows machine running outlook and a Palm Treo running Good technologies. Until I upgraded my Macbook Pro to Office 2008 everything had worked fine for years. After the initial upgrade to Office 2008 everything worked OK until I started getting the well documented duplication of calendar items and then Entourage 12.0.0 stopped syncing calendar events completely. All the other devices still sync without a problem. After the upgrade to 12.0.1, email and contacts still sync perfectly but calendar events are still not syncing at all. If I input an event on one of the other three devices they all are syncing perfectly with each other. It is very frustrating as I use my MacBook Pro as my main machine.  - Entourage claiming to have blocked an unsafe file attachment. I got an email that has anther email attached to it. Entourage appended the attached email to the bottom of the email. SO there was really nothing BLOCKED. I checked with the sender I know what was sent. Just one email attached to another. This is on exchange and the sender sent email from Outlook. Am I missing something? Why would Entourage not know that this email is not unsafe. To be clear there was no files attached to this email. Can establish a connection with the Exchange 2007 server and OWA works just fine. I have 6000+ messages on the Server and when Entourage starts trying to Receive Email Messages, it just sits there and eventually times out.  - Docked Entourage window Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: pop When the Entourage window is docked it does not come back when clicking on the PROGRAM icon in dock but only on the WINDOW icon at the end of the dock, differently from Word or Excel behavior. Any particular reason for that or just a bug? (By the way it was the same in Tiger). No other problem using the program except a longer time to start up (same for all the programs) in 2008!  - Mail stays in my inbox after I mark it as Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: imap Hi- I'm using Entourage 2004 on an Intel MacBook running OS 10.4, running IMAP mail, and I'm having 3 related problems. Issue #1 Usually, when I mark a message as junk, it moves into the spam mail folder and I delete it from there. But recently, some emails are getting marked as junk and are staying in my inbox. When I try to move or delete them, nothing happens -- they just stay where they are. I have tried "marking them as not junk" and moving or deleting them, but that doesn't work either. So I can't get rid of the email in my inbox. Issue #2 It seems that some emails that come in (not necessarily junk ones) come in twice as duplicates. And if I try to delete (or move) them, only one deletes and the other stays in my inbox. Again, I can't get rid of the email in my inbox. Issue #3 Some regular emails come in just once, and I read them and try to delete, and the email stays in my inbox - it won't delete. Again, the email is stuck in my inbox. When I log into my webmail, these "ghost" emails (either the duplicates or the ones I moved to trash or marked as junk) do not show up. So it doesn't seem like they're on the email server. Does anyone know what's going on here? How do I get rid of these email? Am I going to have to switch to Mac Mail? I like the integrated solution of mail, a calendar and addressbook in Entourage, but if this can't be solved, I may have to switch. Anyone experience this at all? I presume there is a problem with my smtp server, have consulted my isp (comcast) and tried all of the options they suggest with no change. I get these messages: 5.1.1 recipient invalid domain (even though I know the address is valid) Cannot send mail. The SMTP server does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Entourage. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings or contact your network administrator. The symptoms are: Entourage will either stop displaying new messages, or when I delete a message from Entourage, it doesn't really delete (OWA still shows it). Additionally, when i delete a message from Entourage, my Blackberry doesn't reflect the changes to the account. It's like Entourage stops syncing with Exchange. If I delete the identity and rebuild the Exchange account, the problem goes away for about a week, but it's been coming back each week for the past three. Kinda annoying. Any thoughts? I have set up the account, but when I use the send/receive function, I get the following error message. HTTP error. Access to the resource is forbidden.  - Office 2008, 12.0.1 Update not so good after all Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I just run the 12.0.1 updater for Office 2008 and strange things happened after it was done. So far, Entourage 08 uses up around 90% of the CPU when in the foreground (as supposed to about 15% max for version 2004) and it seems to be always busy writing (or reading) something from the main drive. I turned off Spotlight indexing and that did not change anything. Also, when looking at my email list it is constantly "blinking" on and off, as if one of the email messages is being deleted and immediately restored, very rapidly.  - Same Same I also am having issues with attachments via Entourage. I have tested these attachments through Mac Mail and they get through fine, so it's just Entourage. I have problems with Word, Excel and PDF files that I know of. Seems to be a thing. Tag: Database Corruption Tag: 92120

 - Entourage 2008 IMAP subfolders disappearing when clicked on Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: imap I just created a IMAP account on Entourage. The account has been on my server for weeks. When I click on a sub-folder (not the inbox), the folder disappears and Entourage crashes. Just before this happens, it looks as if the folder is empty. When I create a new folder through Entourage on the IMAP account, it is there for 1 second and disappears. But, it is created on the mail server. If I click on the account in Entourage and select 'Get Complete folder list' it still does not appear in the sidebar of folders. Tag: Database Corruption Tag: 92112

Several users have reported problems. You will need to start a new database
from scratch. See this page for manually moving your data over to a new
database.
