PLease help me!
Suddenly my entourage os X program crashed and told me to rebuild my
database.
I have spent an entire day trying to figure out how to do this. I have
ample room on my Hard disk to duplicate the file in the rebuilding
process but everytime I begin to rebuild by launching the program while
holding down the option key.... it thinks a long time and then shuts
down after about 5 minutes.

My "database" file located in the "microsoft user data" file under
"office X identities" is very very large!
It is 2.86 GB! I have no idea how it got so big. Maybe because I am a
graphic designer and use email sending large files. Is this size file
normal?
I am so so so nervous that I have lost all my contacts and mail.

Thank you to anyone that can help!

Press the alt key as you launch the app. You should then see a pane with
various options offering you to rebuild the database.

Corentin,
Thanks for your reply but I have done this numerous times and it starts
to work and then entourage quits again.

I am going to try the advanced rebuild after I back up the database in
case it gets further damaged.

Your existing database will not be touched - the first stage of the rebuild
process is to make a copy and work on the copy.

After the rebuild finishes, you will have a backup of the old database in
the identities folder that you can manually delete.
