Yes, it is possible, but not a particularly neat method, thanks to
Microsoft's lame selection method for dates - why they won't include options
for exact date matches instead of 'days from now' is beyond me. I hope
they're reading this thread!
First, view all events in list view, and select all the events in a
particular year - e.g. Those events in year 2003.
Now, create a new category, called '2003' and assign that category to those
events. If you already use categories, this date category can be a secondary
category so it doesn't affect any colouring you rely on.
Then, set up your custom view to select by category - this will work even
for secondary categories.
Alternately, rather than set up a custom view, in the normal calendar view,
you can use the quick-filter menu at the top-right of the calendar window to
select a particular category to view on it's own.
