Hi there,

It appears like there are TWO newsgroups dedicated to Entourage:

microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage
and
microsoft.public.office.mac.entourage

And they both appear to be active!

Can somebody please explain the difference between the two to me?

Thanks!
Scott

Yes. They're both "active" only in the sense that it is impossible to really
remove a newsgroup, ever, since it is mirrored on loads of ISP and other
newsservers and in web format like Google's.

microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage

and the others beginning microsoft.public.mac. are supported by Microsoft
and manned by MVPs. You will get good, prompt answers here.

microsoft.public.office.mac.entourage

and others beginning microsoft.public.office. have been deprecated for over
two years. You are not likely to get nearly as informed answers, if any,
there. Once a week (on Sundays, I think) there should be an automated
message appearing there to that effect, and directing you to the
microsoft.public.mac. groups. Has that stopped happening? If so, I'll report
it to Microsoft.

Ask your questions in microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage .

This is the 'live' group that is monitored most closely by the MVPs and
where you are most likely to get answers to your questions.

This is a 'deprecated' newsgroup that for a variety of reasons known only to
Newsgroup sysadmins cannot be deleted. Please don't use that one. The only
reason that there are posts in there is because many people are confused as
you are!

There used to be a 'robot' posting an advisory notice to those m.p.o.m.
Newsgroups about once a week. Has the robot stopped working?

They shouldn't be!

Thanks you guys, for the explanations. Hmmm... I'm not sure if the
robot has stopped working or not -- I just did a Google Groups search
on "Entourage" and they both showed up, which is what confused me.
Thanks again!
