 - Entourage will not launch I use a Power Mac G4 Quicksilver 867, OS 10.3.2, Microsoft Office X. I am unable to start Entourage X. First indication of trouble was when email messages in my email inbox became hidden, then error messages began to appear when I dragged the mouse curser over the email messages in my inbox, then several weird things started to happen with the scroll bar and folders. Then, Entourage quit totally, and when I tried to relaunch, a window appeared with the message, "The application Microsoft Entourage has unexpectidly quit". I dragged the Entourage application to the trash, and I reinstalled Entourage from the Install CD; nevertheless, I keep getting the same message that "The application Microsoft Entourage has unexpectidly quit". I reinstalled Entourage several times, and each time I receive the same "... unexpectedly quit ..." message. I am totally unable to launch Entourage. How do I get Entourage up and running? How do I find and eliminate the apparent corrupt file that I presume is the root of the problem. I ran Disk Warrior, with no success in fixing the problem. Thank you.  - Selecting appropriate email program My company is going to buy a couple of G5s for the graphic designers in the company. Currently we are running Exchange 5.5 and don't have a timeline to rollout Exchange 2000 because of some problems being encountered. The network is 2000 servers and active directory.  - Entourage (Microsoft Office 2001) ID problem Because of a computer problem I had to re-install complete harddrive including MS Office 2001. I am using OS 9.1 on an iMac. However I moved the "Identity folder" from "Documents" >> "Microsoft user date" >> "Office 2001 Identities" to another disk and thought I would be safe...... not so!! After re-installing MS Office 2001 and moving the saved "Identity folder to the "Documents" >>MS User data etc. I get the following message when trying to open Entourage :"This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage".  - IMAP Exchange Error 1025 when moving to public folders - HELP! MVP's I have a problem that has been extremely frustrating. I have Entourage 10.1.4 connecting to Exchange 2000 with the latest SP. I can connect, pull off my calendar, read and send email as well as move mail from my inbox to my other folders. I cannot move mail from my inbox to our companies public mail folders. Whenever I try this I get an error 1025. We exchange 2000 small biz server - so there are no other exchange servers on the network. I can move mail between public folders no problem. I AM GOING NUTS WITH THIS - my maibox is filling up and I have to user RDP to connect to a windows XP box to move messages. This makes this unusable.  - Only full hours? When I want to add a new item to the calendar, I can't fill in minutes, just full hours. The minutes field is just blank.  - Entourage recovery help needed? Hi, I ran Norton Disk Doctor as as well as the defragment software to clean up my HD and as a result I seem to have lot access to one of my Entourage identities. The rest of the identities are intact but I cannot access one of them. Access is denied and it will not allow me to rebuild. I did not have a copy out side of what was on my HD ( I know it, please don't mention it :) Anyhow, any thoughts on ways to get the information back, if it is still around? I see the files for database, signature, etc. in the Office Identities X folder under the identity in question, but I cannot get it back into the program, even after creating new identity?  - Entourage does not allow mail in or out Every time I try to send or recieve an e-mail the error flag pops up=20 saying that it does not recognize my address or password. When this=20 problem could not be rectified by any other means, I scrapped all of=20 my Office V.X and reloaded, then I went on line and downloaded all of=20 the latest updates.  - More Entourage database problems My Entourage suddenly quit on me! I was working in Entourage when it suddenly shut down, and I havent been able to open entourage or access the database since (1,9 GB by the way). I use Microsoft Office X (version 10.0.0) on a Power Book G4, running OSX 10.2.8 I´ve been reading through recent q & a´s and I have tried a lot of different suggestions to fix this problem: Iv´tried Typical Rebuild & Advanced Rebuild but rebuilding failed. (read/write error -40, it´s likely that your database cannot be repaired) I´ve tried Norton Utilities (and updated virus scan just to make sure...) I´ve tried Disc Utility to verify and repair problems I´ve tried removing the microsoft folder from my preference folder I´ve even tried the fsck -y test in terminal window, but the hard disk seemed to be fine Are there any other suggestions that can help me fix this problem? My Entorage have been running without problems since I bought it, I use it every day at my work and this is my first ever problem with it. I´ve made a back up, but I made it after the problem occured (stupid me), will this data be useless, or can I try to import if I have to reinstall Entourage?  - No sent items in sent folder Hello. I'm using my .mac account with Entourage, and it's proving quite a challenge to set up. I've figured out how to send messages finally, using the 'require authentication' option in account setup. I'm using smtp.mac.com as my outgoing.  - Entourage X Greetings...a minor problem with Entourage X. Running Panther 10.3.2=20 and Entourage 10.1.4. Every once in a while all my choices in the upper = left icon windows (mail, calendar, notes, address book etc.) go black as = the cursor goes over them. Entourage then stops working and I will get=20 either a blank message window or an error -192 window. When I force=20 quit and reopen, it's usually OK. I have performed both typical and advanced rebuild with notifications=20 off. I have repaired disk permissions with Disk Utility and completely=20 defragmented with Tech Tool Pro 4. And, it still happens. I think I may be facing a reinstall of Entourage. Also, I have an iBook = running same system and no problem there so I do not think it's related=20 to Panther.  - HELP! Entourage X lost database Hi: I've got a weird & strange Entourage (with all the updates) problem that I need help with. I was doing some audio recording with Wiretap and my computer (OS X 10.3.2; G4/867; 768 MB RAM) crashed, hard; when I came back from doing something else, the screen wouldn't come back up, and the same half-second audio snippet was repeating over and over again. So I reset and reboot. No problem. Well, when I launched Entourage, suddenly it only saw e-mail as of 1/10, which may have been the last time I did a backup. The last modified date on my Database file was 1/10. Oops, I thought. So I ran Diskwarrior. After it completed, when I went into the Microsoft User Identity folder, the last modified date of the Database was still 1/10. I thought "oh well." So I launched Entourage, and lo and behold, it had every e-mail, up to that afternoon. Yippee! But as I kept deleting e-mails, doing other things to change the databse, and quitting Entourage and relaunching it, the modified date on the Database file didn't change. The last modified date stayed 1/10. Odd, I thought. So, I decided to quit Entourage and rebuild the Database, because I thought I had all my e-mail, this weirdness was concerning me, and I thought that might fix things. After I rebuilt, I was again back to everything only from 1/10 -- and the last modified date of the Database was being updated again. What the dickens is going on? I assume that Entourage was working off some other Database file somewhere on my disk, but I can't find it anywhere. Any idea where I should look or what it might be called? I did a search for "Database"; nothing was the up-to-date file. So I'm sort of lost. The fact that this Database file wasn't erased over restarts gives me hope that it's not lost for good.  - Memory allocation 9.2 OS and MAC: Office 2001.... lots of memory. Added another name and information in my Entourage address book along with a picture of the person; it will not take all the the information. Says not enough memory. Allocated 5K more and did't help.  - MVPs - someone could try this experimental solution? I had an idea as I was answering someone's post here in the Entourage group. I thought I would post it here to see if anyone might have the time and resources to try this. The original poster was looking for a solution to the compatibility issues between the new Palm T3 and Entourage conduit. To conserve on my typing I'll just past my answer/possible solution again below: As I have read here on the newsgroups, and also as seen here: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/palm.html> The problem is not limited to just the T3, but an device running the new Palm OS with the new Palm OS applications. So if you were to purchase any truly *new* Palm device, you will have the same problem. A way around this I would think would be to get your hands on the old Palm applications (i.e. The Datebook, Address Book, To-Do, and Memo apps) and install them on your new Palm and use those until new conduits are written. Keep in mind this solution would only work with Entourage, unless you were to get your hands on all the old conduits as well. (maybe someone else reading this who has the hardware and software and time to try this might let us know?) Of course the main drawback would be that these apps would reside in your usable memory, but a small price to pay... I really have no idea if this would work, but it seems to me it should. The new Palm OS is supposed to run all the old apps, and some of the new Palms when they first came out with the new OS had the old OS apps included. Personally, since I have a m515, I will continue to use that until I know the new ones are fully compatible. If it works, it would be some valuable information to add to the MVP help page.  - Insertion of animated clip art in Entourage Situation: I teach college classes on-line. Heretofore, I have used a PC with Outlook Express. It was simple to go to the web and pick up animated clip art to insert in the lecture message. However, with the Mac OS X, I can bring in the art and insert into the email text, but it will not animate, only the 1st frame shows. Also, there is no control over the size of the art object. With the PC, one could right click and get the "flashing box" around the object and use the arrow / crosshairs to increase or decrease the image. Is this not possible with Entourage? Every email address I type in the send to box gets "25/" added to the=20 beginning of the email address after I hit the send now button.  - Authentication Error 5531 I'm running Entourage X (v10.5.1) on an Apple iBook (OS 10.2.8) and I cannot send email through my secure SMTP using password authentication. I receive the following error message: "The SMTP server for "User" does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Entourage.  - Entourage X (testdirve or regular version) Newsgroup Question Is there a way - in newsgroups - to download entire messages instead of just headers so you can disconnect from the internet and still view the message bodies when you click on the header? As of now, I can only download the headers and when I click on it, Entourage connects to retrieve the body. I have tried to adjust settings in the rules to download the entire message but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Are you aware if this feature is disabled in the test version?  - Anyone experiencing server overload when using Entourage to get Hi, For the last two days I've been trying to use Entourage as usual, and keep getting this problem: An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic. Error: -3259 However, I've also got my Yahoo mail account rigged to check my Mac.com account, and it works just fine.  - Mac Team at Microsoft - Listen to us! Now that you have announced the new version of MacOffice - please work on a easy option to integrate Entourage with iSync! All this down load this conduit for Palm, or exporting to iAddress in Apple is rubbish. We all want to be able to have our calandar, address and (dare I request what I can do on Windows and Palm) email transfers via iSync. No more extra downloads.  - HELP! Rebuild won't fix "Could not open that feature" Mail Error! I'm using Entourage 10.1.4 under Mac OS 10.3.2, and yesterday I tried to open one of my subfolders and got the "Could not open that feature. Mail error." message. After searching this newsgroup I took the advice of posters and rebuilt the database by holding down the option key upon launch. A typical rebuild failed, and Entourage asked me if I wanted to perform an advanced rebuild. I chose yes, but the problem still remains. I went through the rebuild process 5 times. This subfolder is the location of mail from a particular sender (automatically placed in there with a rule) and there are messages I need that I cannot access. Once I get the "Could not open" message I'm stuck; clicking OK just brings the same error message again and again. Force quit is my only option. Does anyone have any other advice? My mail is set up with a POP account, so the messages are deleted from the server when I download them. I cannot access those lost messages from another computer or web-based email.  - Entourage 2001 completly hang up Hello All! Ich hope some of you will have an idea to the following problem: If I open a mail message which was created with a Windows Computer my Entourage and the system completly hang up. Nothing works afterwards. I had the same problem with Outlook Express. So I switched to Entourage but it did not help. Even if I create a new user profile. If I create a new user it works until the first reboot. It is quite an interesting problem but it is not real fun to reboot the computer every 15 minutes. I hope some of you can help me. When I try to open the MS Entourage conduit from Hotsync it crashes
Hotsync! All other conduits work well. Previously it worked fine. What
can I do to fix this. Please help.

I see that you updated Entourage. Did you also install the new version
of the conduit for 10.1.4???
