 - How to edit date on a saved message? It thinks it's from 1/27/40 I saved an email message I received (Entourage v.X) to my "Saved Messages" folder but for some reason it got saved with the date of "1/27/40". Now it always stays at the top of the list (which I have sorted by saved date). Needless to say, unless I change it, it will stay there for the next 4 decades, and it's annoying me.  - Entourage 2004 and Exchange Server on Small Business Server Can someone help me please? I am running Entourage 2004 connected to Exchange Server on a Microsoft Small Business Server. I can receive email and attachments without a problem. I can synchronise all my Exchange mail folders, contacts, calendar with the exception of my Outbox and Sent Items folder which do not appear in the folder list. If a create a new mail, it is placed into the Outbox which exists under Folders on My Computer. If I try a Send/Receive, I get an error message saying Entourage isn't properly configured to send mail. The bizarre thing is that if I reply to any email I receive through the Exchange Server account, the mail gets sent. It's just new mail that won't go. I have checked and rechecked all the settings for the Exchange Server account and can't see anything wrong. Also if I use Outlook Web Access on the Powerbook or on a Windows PC I can receive and send mail no problem.  - BIG trouble with Entourage 2004 and Mac OS X Tiger : any kind of Entourage is now for me useless. It is impossible to send any kind of attachement with an email. The attachment file gets corrupted. Tried with pdf, zip, ... same result. This is a MAJOR issue which makes me switch to Mail 2.0 which does not have this problem (and is pretty faster than Entourage by the way, and very cool with Spotlight search indexation, which Entourage does not provide). Any return from Microsoft on this subject ? Didn't see anything around. How do you report such an issue to Microsoft ? I am using FileVault, maybe is it the culprit ??  - Import mail from Entourage 10.1.1 to Entourage 11 How can I find the correct folder in order to import the mail from my old computer to my new one? I tried copying over the "Main Identity" folder but had no luck. I use Outlook on PC and it has a great export tool. Is there something similar on Entourage 10 that I am overlooking?  - Entourage Palm syncing no longer working After upgrading to Tiger on a new dual 2.0 G5, I had no problems syncing Entourage to my Palm Tungsten. It worked for two weeks without a hitch. Suddenly, this weekend, without changing anything on my system, the Palm sync process began generating an endless beach ball in the Entourage conduit. This begins shortly after the Entourage conduit loads to the date book (the address book seems to sync fine). First the Microsoft Error Reporting app opens, then the beach ball begins. Eventually the Palm reports an inability to communicate with the desktop. The Conduit Manager is inaccessible during this time. If I cancel on the Palm it tries for about 10 minutes to cancel, but fails. My only option each time is to force quit. I've upgraded Office with the 1.11 upgrade issued in March. I've also tried deleting the conduit prefs and resetting them, in case it was a corrupted file. I've also rebuilt the data file. Nothing works. Any ideas what I can try next?  - How can I Synchronize with an Ipaq? (I tried PocketMac ):-( Prior to trying my buying my first Mac, I asked if I would be able to sync with my Ipac PocketPC PDA and I was told, "No Problem". I then had to fight to get the name Missing Sync as a product that could work with Office 2004 on Mac. Then I come to find out that it only has the ability to work with Apple products (Mail and iCal) which clearly did not work for me as an Entourage user. I then called the Apple store and was told about another product called PocketMac. I bought it on 2/13/05 and as of today (5/16/05), it still isn't working. Among my many many problems was the deleting of my address database in Entourage (which included over 800 contacts, many of which were those companies I was speaking with as I was looking for a new job). Support was terrible and today, we decided to give up and after many months of absolute terror, we are giving up and they will be crediting my Visa card as a result. Does anyone have any idea if there is a solution out there (by Microsoft for example) that will sync my Ipaq PDA with Entourage 2004?  - "Reset synchronization" - which way does it go? (Entourage vs. I'm running Entourage v.X on my Mac and using it to connect to an Exchange server at work. My Addressbook seems to differ somewhat from my Contacts (as seen through Outlook Web Access to the server), as does my Calendar. I am told I need to press "Reset synchronization" on the Exchange account Advanced settings tab. What I need to know is: which way will this synchronization go? The data on my Entourage app is correct, and the data in the Exchange server is old and needs to be changed. I would hate to have it change my calendar in Entourage to match the wrong data in the Exchange server. Is Reset Synchronization safe from that perspective? How does it work?  - Entourage Notes Transposed! Using Entourage 11.1 on Tiger (and syncing to Treo 650) I just noticed that at some point a lot of my contacts took on data under the "notes" tab from different contacts. For example, if I have in the notes for a contact "Met 1/1/03," then that same text has arbitrarily applied itself to a half-dozen other contacts (in place of their notes).  - Sending mail from Entourage via Novell Network. I can receive mail from in-house senders and outside senders just fine. I can send mail to recipients inside the building. I CANNOT send mail to anyone outside the building. I am using OSX.3.9 and Entourage 10.1.4. I get the following error message: error 5550 server did not recognize the recipients or the server refuses to allow you to send mail. 5.7.1 unable to relay... Any ideas?  - Tasks in Entourage When I use Outlook for Windows I can drag and drop an E-mail into tasks and it will automatically extract the information from the e-mail for me, In Entourage, this does not happen.  - Entourage beachballing after Tiger upgrade I've recently upgraded to Tiger and have also recently installed StickyBrain. Shortly after doing so, I've started to have Entourage problems . . . program crashes and beachballs when I click on an email. I've tried the following (multiple times) without success: 1. Configured Spotlight so as not to search in the Microsoft User Data Folder 2. Rebuilt Entourage database and verified integrity 3.  - Long Standing Delegate Access Issues... We've been having long standing delegate access issues as far as our exchange 2003 cluster and Entourage 2004 goes. Since SSL for the WebDAV service is required to communicate with the Exchange cluster here on campus this makes the delegate user account show up as "Not Connected" in the account window. If you uncheck the WebDAV SSL box then the delegate shows up as connected in the window, but you of course can not communicate properly with the exchange server. If anyone in the MacBU group is listening/reading is there a solution to this? We are running into huge issues with this in the Film School here on campus and need a way to resolve it without compromising the security on the Exchange 2003 cluster. Will this communication issue be resolved in the next update for Entourage? If so, how does someone go about becoming a test user for the updates? Please help.  - phantom emails For a while now, correspondents have reported sending me emails that I never receive, or failing to receive emails that I have sent them. The problem has been especially bad in the last few weeks. My question (rather basic, and not Entourage-specific, though I do use Entourage): Is my problem likely to be one with my ISP or with my email service? In other words, if I stick with my ISP but configure my Entourage to use another email service (in my case, that of the university I attended, where I still have email access), how likely is that to solve the problem?  - My Entourage Addressbook is out of sync with Exchange Contacts I'm running Entourage v.X on my Mac, and using it to connect to our Exchange Server. Everything works ok, but I noticed today that some (but not all) of the Addressbook entries in Entourage do not show up as Contacts when I access the Contacts on the Exchange server through Outlook Web Access. Is there a way to force it to copy the Addressbook to the Contacts if it gets out of sync? Or am I misunderstanding - Addressbook and Calendar aren't local to my machine are they?  - Old calendar items not deleting as they should Using Entourage 2004 on my 20" iMac 1.25 GHz running Tiger (I also had this problem on Jaguar), recently the Calendar has started to load more slowly than usual -- taking maybe 5 seconds instead of the usual 2 seconds. So, thinking it was slowing down because there's too many old expired events, I decided to see how many old calendar events are still in the database. Lo and behold, even though I have the prefs set to "delete non-recurring events older than 30 days", all my calendar events going back to November 2004 are still there. Is that because I used to have the pref set to delete things 90 days old and I only recently changed it to 30? Is there a way to dump ALL old calendar events? Thanks.  - Explanation of message for digital signature certificate Recently started to use Entourage 2004 with a free personal email certificate issued by Thawte.com for digital signatures. I note that Entourage has generally accepted and worked well with it. However, it does generate a "Revocation information for this certificate could not be determined" message for emails signed with this certificate.  - How do I make Finder preferences permanent? Every time I restart my 20" iMac 1.25 GHz running Tiger with 768 MB of RAM I have to reset the stupid Finder's view options so that the Size column in Finder windows calculates all file & folder sizes. Is there a way to make that permanent so I don't have to re-set it every time I restart? Also, in the Finder's Preferences there's a pref under the Advanced tab to "Show all file extensions", but in Finder windows there are tons of documents that don't show the file's extension.  - Entourage 2004 fails to access mail in Tiger Is anyone aware of a similar issue to what I'm having with Entourage mail in Tiger? When I try to access my email I get a pop up screen: AFP Connection Satus [fe80:5:0:0:250:e4ff:fe10:f66] This IPv6 address doesn't exist. I have no idea where Entourage is getting this address. I tried to set to work offline and that's OK, until accessing mail. As soon as I check mail this occurs. What's very strange is that on my desktop with the exact same installation (different machine- G5 dual 2.0GHz/1.5GB RAM) this doesn't occur. The program eventually errors out but doesn't continue, it just keeps trying to access an IP address (IPv6 above) that doesn't exist. A time out error that it failed to connect- the server is unavailable comes up. This sequence continues ad infinitum until the program is force quit. The Force Quit menu indicates that Entourage is unresponsive. So far I've tried to rebuild databases, change identities to an old one (pre-Tiger), remove Office and re-install Office (and Entourage). Nothing worked. I can think of other things to try, but help would be appreciated, if you've been up against this. Is there anything that can be done? If not I'll have to stop using the Mail section and use Apple Mail or my old mail client Gyazmail, but of which works fine in Tiger. I've heard of a lot of M$ Office issues in Tiger.  - Create Flag for Follow Up from Create New Message Window I want to flag certain emails for follow up with reminders. So far, the only way I've been able to flag an email for follow up at a future date and create a reminder is: 1. Create the email. 2. Send the email. 3. Open Sent email folder. 4. Select message 5.  - corrupt data file I have been having some problems with my iBook lately and decided to back up files before taking it in for repairs. I copied my Entourage data files to a cd. Now, when I open Entourage, it takes me back to the beginning and I can't seem to get back my information. Most of the emails are not a problem, since most of my email is from IMAP accounts. However, I hate to lose the notes that I had created and the calendar. I went to another computer and tried to open the copy of the data file with Entourage, but it told me that the file was corrupted and probably couldn't be fixed. Smart Remove Duplicates improves Barry's script by looking at SETS of duplicates and keeping the "best" one of the set. Flagged, Replied, Forwarded, and Read duplicated messages are kept over unread duplicate messages, in that order. This may take some extra time to run, so if that is not a concern, use Barry's script instead. This script will also give you the chance to look at a report before actually deleting messages, and has a progress bar available if the right scripting addition (24U Appearance) is installed.  - Maximum database size What is the maximum database size for Entourage 10.1.1 under Mac OS 10.2.8? I thought I heard it was 1.5 GB. Unknowingly mine got up to 1.75 GB, and I had some problems. Fortunately an "advanced" rebuild has restored it to working condition. The rebuild reduced the database size to 1.15 GB. Are the following files now disposable? Database (Rebuild) -- from a failed Typical rebuild? Database (Rebuild) Cache -- from a failed Typical rebuild? Old Database Old Database Cache It seems I encounter corruption when I save an message with attachments. (The first sign is that the saved file won't send. It gets stuck in the Outbox.) Corruption also seems to occur if I drag attachments from one email message to another. Are these known problems? Thanks! John P.S.  - Timestamp shows date copied not date received I've just moved a number of email accounts from an IMAP server on one host to a new IMAP server on my new host. To do this I set up duplicte folders on the new mail account and dragged messages from the old server onto the new one. This was successful: my new server now has all my messages in equivalent folders. I used Entourage to do this. The problem is Entourage reports the received date as the time I copied the messages from the old to new server not the original date/time the message was received. For example all my messages in one folder show a received time of 22:17 today when they were copied, not the range of dates over the past five years when they were actually received. This has really screwed up my message lists to an unusable degree. Strangely this is contrary to the email headers which still report the actual date/time of the message. There is no new header with the copied time either. Other email clients (Thunderbird and SquirrelMail) correctly report the received timestamp and order everything correctly. I have no idea where Entourage is getting this new timestamp from. I've even deleted all prefs/db files and started fresh. I have three questions: Why doesn't Entourage use the header information? Where is Entourage getting the new "copied time" timestamp? How can Entourage be coaxed into using the correct timestamp? I have done the following: Deleted all my mail accounts form the Accounts panel in Entourage. Deleted and emptied the Trash of all Entourage database files under ~User/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/Main Identity/ ... I've rebooted my machine. When Entourage is run it looks like it's going through its "First run" process. I've then re-setup an account with the problem. Still Entourage lists my messages with the copied time, not the Header time. I can't fathom why! In fact I'm exasperated. Such strange behaviour. Especially since other clients show evertything correctly. I don't want to give up on Entourage either. Any ideas? Technical info: I'm running Entourage 2004 on Mac OS X 10.3.9.  - Entourage quits when I click on a particular E-mail Entourge 2001 always quits when I click on an E-mail from a trusted source that has a .PDF attachment. I cannot put the E-mail in the trash since it quits when I highlight it. How do I get rid of this E-mail and what do I tell the sender to do.  - Duplicate email messages in Entourage 2004 after Tiger upgrade Suddenly some, but not all, messages I get via an IMAP account are showing up in duplicate. I can delete one but not the other. However, if I look at my account using a web interface, the messages are truly deleted so it's a copy that remains in my inbox that won't go away. Rebuilding the database removes all old duplicates but then it happens again. I've turned off the Spotlight indexing of my Microsoft user data but it's still happening. Any clues anyone?  - Default active panes in Entourage 2004 Good afternoon In the previous version of Entourage, when the address book window was opened the search contacts pane (or box) would be active. In the new version, the Views pane is active, requiring an extra tab to make a search. This is a huge nuisance as I'm constantly required to first tab and then type in my search. (It's the same for mail, I believe: the Inbox used to be the default active pane, now it's the Folders.) I have no clue why this was changed; it is far more inefficient.  - Entourage doesn't start after upgrade to 10.3.9 I've seen other people have had this problem, and saw one person seems to have fixed it by pulling out the database from the MS2004 identies folder and reinstalling Entourage. I have a question about doing this. 1. Is this where the Entourage database is: user>username>documents>MicroSoft User Data>Office 2004 Identities Because if so, I've got a problem. When I click on that last link of the chain (expecting to see the next set of file names), the Finder freezes and the dreaded beachball appears. I have to force quit Finder at that point. I am having trouble sending large attachments, or multiple attachments
from my Entourage program, Version 10.1.4, for Mac. I'm sending image
files close to 5MB each, and if I have 3 or more, I can't send them
together, even if I put them in one zip file; I keep getting an error
message that reads:

Error: Mail could not be sent using the account "GBG Photography"
Explanation: Mail error. Mailbox is temporarily full; try again later
Error: 5552

Does anyone have any solutions?

This is not an entourage problem. Either your ISP or your recipients mail
server cannot handle attachments that big. Email was never designed for
multi-megabyte attachments.
