For as long as I've used Entourage on my laptop I have had no trouble
sending and receiving mail from my office or home office, but recently
I keep getting this error when trying to send mail at home:

An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down,
overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic. Mail could not be
sent. Account name: "____ Mail"

Error: -3259

I have tried just about every possible solution I could find online,
including changing both my send and receive options repeatedly and
overriding the default SMTP port. Changing the SMPT port from 25 to
587 results in this error message: Entourage cannot connect to the
server. Verify that your computer is connected to the network. Mail
could not be sent. Account name: "_____ Mail"

Error: -3260

Does anyone have any helpful hints? Thanks in advance for any help.

Maybe your ISP made changes to their settings....

Are you sending from a local SMTP server (the one from your ISP) or a
remote one (eg: the work SMTP from home or vice versa)?
