 - Place Cursor At The Top OS 10.4.11 Ibook G4 1.5 GB Ram Entourage 11.3.2 Hi, On all my emails I want my replies to be at the top of the email. This includes posting to newsgroups, and responding to NG posts, I've tried the choices in Preferences>Reply and Forward, and the cursor placement still shows up at the bottom of the message, the trail.  - Rebuild Entourage 2004 Database (11.4.1) Exchange 2003 account resend We have had this happen a lot with our users. Our Entourage clients will get a corrupted database,the little box pops up to rebuild. We rebuild and then from the moment we open Entourage it starts sending old messages that user has all ready sent (we know because the other said has all ready replied!) again!! We use Exchange 2003 SP2 with a FE/BE, Mac OS X 10.4.11 with Office 2004 (11.4.1). The users mailbox is around 1.5GB on the exchange side, there DB is 4GB! Why is Entourage so broken?  - Meeting Cancellation from Outlook User does not Remove Item from I received and accepted a Meeting Request sent from an Outlook user. Subsequently, the event organizer sent a Meeting Cancellation. I clicked on the "Remove Event from Calendar" button, but the event remained in my Entourage calendar. I'm using Entourage 2004. Does anyone know why this occurs and if it can be fixed? Thanks.  - Opening a shared Exchange calendar Exchange 2003. Entourage 2004 and 2008 (tried on both). Until today, I was able to open shared calendars using Entourage. I am still able to view calendars of those mailboxes already added to my folder list, but I am unable to open new shared calendars. The mailbox icon appears in the Folder list for the mailbox whose calendar I'm trying to view, but the calendar never becomes available. I don't see any event log errors on the server.  - Entourage 2008 Stopped Receiving Email (Exchange) Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange Hi All, I have been using Entourage on Leopard for about 4 months now and have been extremely impressed. However sometime today, Entourage simply stopped retrieving my work Exchange email. I am still able to send emails both internal (company) and external, but have not received an email in about 8 hours. When I hit the 'Send/Receive' button everything seems to function normally and there are no errors. However there is no new email either. I can use Safari/Firefox and retrieve my email via OWA from my MacBook and all the mail is current, but for some reason, Entourage is not receiving any new email (which is strange since it's also OWA). I have tried cleaning out all new email (since Entourage stopped retrieving), thinking that there could be a currupt email.  - Deleting message in Exchange goes to next message down When I'm in the view sorted by recency (most recent on top), can I specify which message receives focus when I delete a message? The use case is as follows: Msg 3 (most recent) Msg 2 (hi-lited) Msg 1 (least recent) When I'm on Msg 2 and delete the message, it current goes to Msg 3. Can I make it go to Msg 1?  - Copying/pasting Excel table to Entourage as a table Hi, all, I've read earlier discussions about the inability to copy and paste Excel tables into Entourage without the data format going FUBAR. There may have been updates since Office 2008 was released but currently there seems to be 2 solutions: 1. Paste as picture - this seems inadequate because recipients might not see the picture or see it as an attachment, and might want to copy the data 2. Paste as table text using 3rd party solutions - as referenced in the thread http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage/browse_thread/thread/ce08d502c66dc62e/0093e052994ed76b?lnk=gst&q=+Excel#0093e052994ed76b using Sig Software's tool. I'm loving Entourage 2008, but I'd love it even more if I could create saved searches that are a little more fine-grained (e.g. "(category is A OR b) AND due date is today").  - old emails getting resent unexpectedly We are using Entourage in an Exchange environment and we occasionally have a user who reports old emails being resent from Entourage. It seem to be happening from the Client side and tends to happen to people with large mailboxes or to people who might be in need of a database rebuild-- sometimes it happens right after a database rebuild. Obviously this causes some confusion for the recipients of these old emails and it annoys our users who have to explain this to everyone who gets confused. He has tons of it and dozens of mailbox folders on his Mac. He needs to have Entourage update his Inbox first when he connects so he can immediately get the most recent emails loaded on his system. As it is, Entourage seems to sync his local copy of the Inbox on his Mac after it syncs all the other folders with Exchange 2003.  - Can connect with OWA but not with Entourage 2008 to Exchange 2003 We have Exchange 2003 at work. I can connect directly to our Exchange 2003 server with Entourage 2008 over VPN. I can connect using Safari to our OWA server (it uses form based authentication and SSL) I can NOT connect to our OWA server with Entourage 2008 with SSL. It says I have the wrong username of password or security setting. What gives? Our office is phasing out VPN so I need to be sure I can continue to use Entourage 2008. For Outlook on Windows they have set up an Exchange proxy server using basic authentication which works fine on Windows but I cannot connect with Entourage 2008. Thanks for any help. Whenever I double-click on a message it opens up in its own window (perfect).  - Receive email problem Hi all, Entourage had a problem when receive email. I see the status showed "message remaining to be received: 10" and then the bar will hold on this status very long time. So I quit Entourage and then open it again immediately, those 10 emails was already download in the inbox. If I click on a link in Entourage it opens up in an new tab in my standard-browser (Firefox) and so far that's ok, but I don't want the browser to steal Entourage's focus. It would be great to keep the browser in the background while clicking links in Entourage. Is there any way in doing that?  - Printing Calendars in Entorage Is there a way using Entourage to print a calendar with a customizable footer? I need to add some static info that I want at the bottom of each calendar printed.  - Entourage 2008 does not deliver attachment Greetings, I was sent a .webloc (a text/xml file) attachment and received it in the newly installed Entourage 2008. Entourage blocked the attachment with the "friendly" note "Entourage has blocked the following potentially unsafe attachments: [name] <Remove them> <Learn more...>" The "Learn more..." option provides the following. <being Help> Cause: For security reasons, Entourage blocks attachments that could potentially harm your computer. Solution: If you do not trust that the attachment is safe, delete it from your computer. Solution: If you trust the message sender and want to receive the attachment, ask the sender to compress the file and then send it to you again. <end Help> It seems to me that this is not a reasonable procedure for handling this situation. Entourage should warn me there might be a risk, but it should not unilaterally strip the file off and tell me later to tell the sender to resend. In fact if the file were malware it could be just as risky when unzipped as when it is uncompressed. So the stripping and warning serve only to annoy the user.  - unwanted reminders I am getting unwanted reminders when creating calendar items in entourage 2008. I have done the following in Outlook: - Entourage menu>Turn off Office Reminders - Entourage menu>Preferences>Calendar>Unchecked default reminder of 15 minutes - When creating the event, unchecked the reminder box Yet, after all this, after creating the event, my Outlook client shows the event as having a 15 minute reminder!  - Forms in Entourage?? Does anybody know if Microsoft Entourage supports the use of forms that can be embedded in messages like Microsoft Outlook for Windows does? My IT department uses a special form that is basically like a repair tag, and whenever anybody has a problem with their computer, that person can open up the preformatted form and tell us what the problem is, and then we can pass that on to the appropriate tech guy.  - How to connect to ExchangeServer? Hello all together, is there somewhere a really good and detailed guidance how to connect Entourage to an ExchangeServer 2003? I found something on the web, but it didn't work on my kollegues MacOS. The Exchange-Server has the IP-Address 192.168.130.222. This Server is also the DomainController of the domain kirche-kuecknitz.de. The Mac-User has the eMail-Address r.devos@kirche-kuecknitz.intern and his Username in ActiveDirectory is r.devos The following two screenshots let you see, how I configured the Entourage: http://www.kirche-kuecknitz.de/entourage1.jpg http://www.kirche-kuecknitz.de/entourage2.jpg That follows the guides I found on the web. Typically, the message states that the user's password was rejected or that the e-mail address needs to be verified. Fix: * If your POP server and SMTP server names include "sbcglobal," substitute "att" instead. For example, change "smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com" to "smtp.att.yahoo.com." But don't change the "sbcglobal" term in your e-mail address (such as steve@sbcglobal.net)--that remains the same. * Enable SSL for your POP server and select to override the default POP port with port 995. * Enable SSL for your SMTP server and select to override the default SMTP port with port 465. After doing all this, your e-mail problems should be gone. If not--and if you continue to get errors about your account needing to be verified--the apparent cause is a problem on AT&T's end.  - "Links" Function Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange A suggestion and question related to the links function in Entourage: 1) The "Links" button should provide an in-menu list of selectable items instead of opening an entirely different window. 2) If a user is trying to link a message to a previously defined Task, the window that appears shows both Complete and Incomplete Tasks as possible link-able items.  - Entourage calendar time format problem Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel I recently purchased Office 2008 Home & Student edition and after installing it on my Mac Pro (Leopard 10.5.2), I upgraded Office to the latest 12.0.1 version. I have a strange problem in that the month view in Entourage Calendar insists on showing times in 24 hour format even though the OS is set to use 12 hour (AM/PM) format. Everywhere else in Office 2008, the time is displayed correctly in 12 hour format, and in Entourage email receipt times, calendar list times etc., are also shown correctly in 12 hour format with the AM/PM indicator. Even when I create a new calendar item, I am prompted to enter start/end times in 12 hour AM/PM format, but as soon as I look at the Calendar 'month' view, Entourage displays items in 24 hour format and without the AM/PM indicator. So for example, an appointment for 09:00AM shows up in the calendar simply as "9 Call work", or an item entered as 05:00PM shows up as "17 Collect car". I have double checked my System Preferences (International/Format) and everything appears correct, so why is the month view in Entourage calendar doing it's own thing, and how can I change it?  - Entourage 2008 Group email error I recently upgraded a user from Entourage x up to 2008. She has a lot of groups and they did import over. It seems now some of the groups will get an error when trying to send email to the group. The errors are 5.1.3 Bad Recipient Address Syntax and at the bottom Error -17099. i researched these and it says it is a bad address or the ISP is not allowing it. The groups worked fine in Entourage X. Some groups have 5 people and some have up to 25. Have had the error in both. The odd thing is if I send the email to each individually it will send. The groups have the right email addresses. Also have rebuilt the database and it does the same thing. I wanted to know if there was any other ideas before I have to redo all these groups.  - E2K7SP1 Entourge 2008 Out of Office Good day everyone, At our University, we have a 30% Apple client base, some of which use Entourage 2008. One of the issues that we having deals with the Out of Office assistant using Entourage 2008. In our production environment, when we choose Out of Office form the Tools menu, the applet times out while 'retrieving status' with a msgbox that states: "Out of Office status is temporarily unavailable because Entourage cannot connect to the server." In our VM environment that our training department uses, it works just fine. In both environments, all clients connect to the CAS server(s) via HTTPS. There are major differences between the two. Training environment has one A/D server and one Exchange server house the CAS, HT, and MB roles. It has 10-20 people accessing during class times in an A/D structure that has 5000 people entered. The production environment has 6 CAS servers that people connect to via a Cisco provided, load balancing, proxying service name. This load balancing is 'sticky'. Most of our mailbox servers are clustered, although we have tested in production with test accounts on non-clustered mailbox servers. There are 48,000 mail account objects in the directory. We believe we have ruled out performance issues on the mailbox servers and we are working to move a CAS server out of the service name for isolation there. I too have had mine calander events disappear twice in the last week. I sync with .mac and another computer. It seems Entourage is working really hard (syncing) and poof, all is gone!

Any suggestions out there?

I would turn off syncing to .mac for now or be sure to keep good backups
daily.
