 - Entourage dumps Explorer cache For the last six months, I have been experiencing a fairly serious conflict between Entourage and Explorer. If I am using Explorer to access a Web store and then I check mail in Entourage, the process of checking mail will apparently dump the Explorer cache. When I go back to Explorer, the Web site no longer knows that I'm logged in and anything in my shopping basket will be gone. This has happened consistently on the following sites: Shutterfly.com Staples.com babystyle.com polo.com And others I can't think of right now. Interestingly, it doesn't happen at all Web stores. Gymboree.com seems unaffected. I finally narrowed down the problem during a long tech support call to Shutterfly. Shutterfly was aware of the problem, since they had encountered it with other users, but since the trouble was with Entourage, there was obviously nothing they could do. Does anyone know if Microsoft is aware of this problem? I found other posts related to this topic, but they are old.  - Entourage & Exchange 5.5 Question from a "switcher" I just purchased a Mac Powerbook and thought I had asked all the right questions to all the right people before deciding to switch from a PC, but apparently I missed this. At work we run Exchange 5.5 primarily for shared calendar and contacts. We do not use the email features, except minimal "in-house" email occassionally. I have a problem now Question 1. Is there any way that I can access Exchange Calendar and Contacts from my Mac without asking for an upgrade to Exchange 2000 (which is unlikely to happen Question 2. I don't suppose the upcoming 2004 version will address this... Can anyone let me know if it does (without breaking NDA) Question 3. Is there another solution for sharing my calendar and contacts with a PC running Outlook (or if they need to use another program, what might that be? thank you so much.  - Entourage X has stolen my exchange emails I am running a network on 2000 server, and i am running my email system on a exchange 2000 server. We also have MACs, running OSX 10.3 on our network. My problem is as follows: I have an email account on our exchange server, which until today was working fine. The guys using the macs have purchased office X, which inc Entourage X. After creating an account on Entourage X, it proceeded to pull all my emails from off the exchange server, and dumping them in Entourage. Where it has stored my emails, i do not know. Where has Entourage put them? Under what file extension? How do i get the back onto my exchange account? I have searched the mac machine for *.eml or *.pst files to try and locate them.  - Entourage 9/Exchange problem Hi, We have a MAC user, who is currently having problems sending mail. He is however receiving mail. Background.... Previously he was able to receive e-mail when he was using Entourage 9 on Exchange 5.5/Windows NT4 Since the Exchange server was changed to Exchange 5.5/Windows 2000. The MAC user is no longer able to send mail (SMTP). They are however able to receive mail. The configuration is as follows:- Account Settings: Include this a/c in send & receive all schedule is checked Personal Information Name/E-mail Address is entered Receiving mail account ID, POP server and password are entered. Save password is checked. Advanced receiving options: none are checked Sending mail SMTP server is entered Advanced sending options; SMTP server requires authentication is checked and use same settings as incoming mail server is checked The error message is: Error: Mail could not be sent using the account '.....'  - Exchange sending problem Hello, I have patched entourage with the latest patches etc. The problem I have is when I send an email it appears to have gone from the outbox. However it doesn't go anywhere it simply seems to dissapear. It is shown in the sent folder. The settings I am using are correct, the exchange server is working fine because I have a pc next to the mac which works which uses outlook.  - Duplicating Appointment/Event, Entourage v.X Hi This probably a silly question, but I can't work out how to do this.. All I want to do is duplicate an event or appointment in Entourage, say I am teaching IT on Monday from 9:30 to 12:00, then they also ask me to teach IT on Wednesday from 9:30 to 12:00 - surely I don't have to enter all the detail again.  - Exporting my Contacts in Entourage in a CSV format I am using MAC OSX and Entourage and would like to export my=20 contacts in a CSV format. I use Earthlink as my email provider and=20 when on the road do not have the same access to all my contacts/ addresses. The only way I was told (by Earthlink) to get all my = contacts=20 from Entourage imported into my webmail was to have the exported=20 file converted somehow to a CSV format. Rght now, you can only=20 export contacts as a .txt file, I don't want to have to transfer all = my=20 email back to my PC ( which I hate) so I can use Outlook, which does=20 let you export in various flie formats.  - Can't see message and message list I can't seem to figure out how how to see both the message text and=20 my list of messages in one window. The only way I can read the=20 message is to double click. In other programs, when you single click=20 you can see it below the large list.  - Help with Entourage X - IMAP calendar I've set up an IMAP account in my Entourage X so that I can manage my boss' emails and calendar. The email works fine, but when I subscribe to Calendar, all I get is a list view of existing calendar events, as if they were emails, rather than a calendar. This is impossible to manage as the dates and times of the events are not visible in this view. I'm in Melbourne, Australia, and Microsoft here aren't able to give me a release date for Office 2004 (assuming this issue is fixed in that release). I've also scoured the Microsoft website, and come up with nothing. Can anyone help? If not, any suggestions for Calendar/Diary software that can be shared across a network?  - emails won't leave outbox Hello, I'm working in entourage 10.1.0 and every time I've tried to send an email in the past 3 hours they just stay in my outbox. I'm not getting any error notices or anything, just outgoing emails that stay put. This just started happening today. I checked my email account set-up and everything looks fine.  - Viewing Exchange Calendar in Entourage I have a user on Mac OS X and he is using Entourage to view his Exchange Calendar. The problem is that all he sees is line items instead of a monthly calendar. We are running Exchange 5.5 on an Windows NT 4.0 server platform.  - notes in Calendar I run MS Office X on a G4/400. OSX 10.3.3 I would like to be able to post a note in a calendar item after the date. Is seems that if the item is a re-occuring one there is not way to add to the items unless one wants to change all of the rest.  - Old email addresses appear How do I make Entourage use the current email address for somebody I'm sending an email to? Of course, people change their email addresses, so if I know this I go to the Entourage address book, go to the individual's record, into the email tab and change the old email address to the new one. Then "Save" before closing the address book. BUT, when typing the name in the "To" field of an email, Entourage has an annoying habit of completing the address with the old email.  - Changes "&" to "&amp:" in emailed links -- why? When someone emails me a link containing the ampersand character "&" Entourage changes it to "&" Apple's Mac Mail doesn't do this, and picking up the link from webmail maintains the correct URL.  - 4GB database limit Hi All, I've read through all threads on this site about a 4 GB Database limit. = My=20 email has exceeded this & I cannot open it regardless of rebuilding the=20 database. I had no warnings that there was a limit & if I cannot open it = I am=20 pretty much screwed as it contains all of my contacts plus diary plus = emails. I noted on one of the threads someone pointed out that there may be a=20 patch coming soon - can anyone confirm if this is correct or do I need = to=20 just bin it & get on without my lifes work!  - Entourage Contacts not sync-ing w/ Palm I previously owned a Palm III [it experienced sudden death this morning] and sync-ed it with Entourage. I just purchased a Palm Tungsten E handheld. For some unknown reason, the contacts in Entourage are not sync-ing with the handheld or the Palm Desktop. Nothing is showing up on the handheld 'Contacts' and only 30 out of 100+ are showing up on the Palm Desktop. Everything else seems to be sync-ing just fine.  - Reinstallation problems w/Office X for Mac! Hi folks-- Hope someone here on the newsgroup can help me with this. I had a lot of computer problems this week, and I was instructed to do an *erase and reinstall* of Mac OS 10.2. I backed up everything I thought I should, but I probably neglected to back up anything from MS Office X or MS Office 2001 (located on my *Classic* hard drive). So, when it came time for me to reinstall Office X, it's naturally looking for a previous version of an Office program (Word or Entourage, for example) on my hard drive to complete the installation. Although I now have a new CD key from Microsoft, like I said, I get a prompt that instructs me to *browse* for a previous version of the software--such as Entourage or Word--and when I attempt to do that, those entries are grayed out and I cannot select them--meaning that I can't complete reinstallation of the Office X programs. The earliest version of a MS for Mac application that I have now is Office 98, and that is also an *upgrade* version, not a standalone version. I sold/gave away my standalong MS Word 4 or 5 program a very long time ago--and so I don't have a *standalone* version of *any* MS Office for Mac product. Is there a way I can get Office X working for me again without buying the programs again (Word X for $229 and Entourage X for $99)? I tried to get help from Microsoft earlier today, but all three times I was put on hold for 10 minutes and then disconnected--guess the Mac product specialists don't work on Sunday. I *did* back up my *Previous System Folders* (two of them)--are there items in there that would work for me to recover these programs and get my Office X stuff working again?  - Syncing Palm & Entourage - contact info vanishes When I sync Palm 4.1 with Entourage v OS 10.1.4, (using Entourage Conduit) contact data that was on the Palm Pilot disappears - seems to be at random. Mobile numbers, email addresses, etc that were in the Palm before syncing seem to vanish. It does not affect all contacts, just one or two each time I sync. On the Palm, in Contacts, all fields change to "Work" and are blank, ie no data. The contact data is still complete in Entourage but if I sync again it will not transfer to the Palm. Any clues? From the Tools menu, choose Accounts. 3. Highlight the desired Mail Account and click Edit. 4. Click over to the Options tab. 5. Check the box labeled "Leave a copy of each message on the server." **Note: You may also want to choose the options to "Delete messages from the server after XX days (5 days is generally a good time frame to enter) and to "Delete messages from the server after they are deleted from this computer".  - Cannot Leave Mail on Server Using Entourage v.010.1.4. Did the following: 1. Opened Entourage. 2. From the Tools menu, chose Accounts. 3. Highlighted the desired Mail Account and click Edit. 4. Clicked over to the Options tab. 5. Checked the box labeled "Leave a copy of each message on the server.", and chose the options to "Delete messages from the server after 5 days and "Delete messages from the server after they are deleted from this computer". I did this in an attempt to be able to d/l mail to my iBook in the a.m. and to be able to allow my wife to check the mail in the p.m. and download the same emails to her desktop. If this is what is supposed to happen...it isn't. If I check the email on my iBook or she checks it on the desktop, then it's gone from the server.  - Mystery Crashes, Please help OK, I'm not a newbie, and I am at a loss as to how to fix this problem. I'm running OS 10.2.8 Entourage 10.1.4 (from Office X) Yesterday I was working on my iMac when we had a power outage. For some reason, when I rebooted, Entrourage would not work. I get the splash, then an immediate "...unexpectedly quit...system & other applications have not been affected." Strangely, this identical problem is also happening with Explorer. Other Office X programs (Excel, Word, PP) are all operating normally. I can also access the net with AIM, so it is not a connectivity problem. Add to this, when I switch to 9.2.2, I can get that version of IE to allow me to surf the net. In OS X, I am also having problems with the stability of I-Clean, and I cannot get Preview to launch. Here's what I've tried: Uninstalling (via Value pack on CD) and reinstalling Office X. Checking for duplicate and corrupted fonts. I reinstalled 9.2.2. The OS X CD that came with my machine is apparently an older version than the OS X on my machine, so it will not allow me to reinstall OSX. Clearly, I am not going to erase my disk and start over.  - Which rule(s) were applied? I've been a long-time Eudora user, recently switched to Entourage. In Eudora, there's a feature that allows you to find out what filter was applied to a given e-mail by selecting the e-mail and then holding down the shift key while selecting "Filters."  - configuring entourage I have just migrated from outlook 2003 for XP to Entourage and Mac. Could someone help with the following questions: there are 6 icons on the top left hand side of entourage. can i configure them to appear under " on my computer" ? my emails seem to be taking longer to arrive in my inbox than with outlook. i have looked at the configuration in schedules and it is set to manual. besides setting up a schedule to send and receive every minute, is there anything else one can do? in the address book, can one set up a different view to look at contacts that is not a list? can one combine contacts, email, address book and/or tasks in one view? thanks for the help!!!  - enabling SPAM filter Hi, I'm running OSX and in Entourage am trying to set up some sort of SPAM filter. When I go to TOOLS, and then JUNK MAIL FILTER I see there are some options. I cranked the sensitivity to the right, and input some addresses i don't want id'd as SPAM. But the very bottom option asks about performing an Apple Script.  - Premature Purges of Deleted IMAP Mail; Why? In Entourage X v10.1.4 or 10.1.5 when I mark an IMAP Inbox item for deletion, the item is purged before I the time I have set in "Delete Options" within Tools->Accounts->[my IMAP Account]->Advanced.  - HTML Forwarding When I first installed Entourage, I set an option or preference to that caused all HTML emails that I forward to be changed to plain text. Now I've changed my mind and want to preserve HTML formatting when forwarding messages. However I can't find the preference setting for this.  - Automating Attachment Save & Removal I recently downloaded the script Friendlier Claris It! (http://files.macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/Entourage/FCI_for_Entourage_X.s it) which works great, but when configured only to file attachments it will save all attachments to a single pre-defined folder. Does anyone know of a script that will just save the attachment to a folder (to be chosen each time) and then recording the location and link with full attachment filename (>31 characters) in the message? I know this can be (almost) done manually, except for the 31 character limitation of Entourage for attachment filenames. Any suggestions on how to modify Friendlier Claris It! to do this will also be greatly appreciated (I don't know the first thing about scripting). Thanks!  - Spam Nukes Entourage One of the more recent things I am seeing with spam is No subject, and no From. This is causing Entourage to crash out with no error message. I am assuming others are seeing this also. I am running against an Exchange server, so my solution is to go into OWA, and delete the offending mail.  - Where's my *old* e-mail messages?? Help! I've had some computer woes today that resulted in my having to reinstall Jaguar, and I've *lost* my prior Entourage e-mail box and all my messages and contacts. I know they're somewhere on the hard drive, I just don't remember where that is right now. Where on my hard drive would this file be? What *exactly* is it called, where *exactly* is it, and what are the steps I need to take in order to restore this *previous* e-mail file as my *present* file/identity/whatever? Right now Entourage opens up on a new page as if I had just started using the program for the first time. I tried looking for help on the MacTopia website, but I couldn't find answers for this exact issue.  - Open Entourage E-mail Links in a (Separate) Safari Tab I wonder if there is a way (possibly via AppleScript) to open a link in an Entourage e-mail message in its own tab within a Safari browser window.  - Truncated notes in Contacts I'm a new user of Entourage and was previously was using Outlook XP on a PC. I brought my contacts into Entourage through my Palm. My problem is that I had a lot of information stored in the notes sections of various contacts which would display in the bottom pane of Outlook. In Entourage these notes are truncated after the first few words and then an ellipse. I can find the notes if I open the contact and then click Other. I was hoping there was a way to have these notes display in full rather than being truncated. Any ideas? Tag: Calendar Tag: 34892

Hello!

When I receive a calendar request for some one, for some reason I cant see
the actual request. Date. Time. When. Where.

I get the little icon that tells me its a meeting request?! But everything
is greyed out in the email. Until I reply. Then I see the info.
Is this a setting somewhere?

The Accept/Decline/ and Tentative buttons are greyed out.
