 - Cannot delete mesages Help please! I have a couple of messages that have come down via Mac (IMAP) and these now sit in my Entourage inbox. These messages are junk so I marked them as such - nothing happens within Entourage. I try to delete and again nothing happens, I also try "purge deleted" and *refresh message list" - still nothing. In desperation I log into my Mac mail account and the messages have disappeared. Presumably the delete has worked on the server but not in Entourage! How can I get rid of these confounded messages.  - 1. temporarily disable email account? 2. quit stalled Background: The ISP for one of my accounts goes down from time, usually overnight or for a couple daytime hours. When this happens, Entourage 2004 email is stuck trying to access the ISP university server for several minutes before it puts up a failed operation dialogue and the only way I've found to regain control is to quit Entourage and re-launch. 1. Without removing an Office 2004 email account and having to re-enter all the account specs, how can one temporarily disable it or just remove it from the send-receive options? (Rather than the "Send and Receive All" default, I can go under Send & Receive and select each account that I know is operational for handling incoming and outgoing messages but that is time consuming) 2. If an ISP's server cannot be accessed, how can one quit a frozen send-receive for an account without having to quit the whole Entourage program?  - Scrambled HTML on received emails Starting to get this a lot these days. Can only see unscrambled text if I view as a reply.  - Entourage database won't rebuild! My entourage X database gave me a warning a few days ago that it was getting full... I purged some big messages with attachments to clear space but the warning reapeared a couple of days later. It said that I could rebuild the database by restarting the app and holding option... Did that and it says the database is broken... I loaded up a backup of the database from a day ago and now that one isn't working either... Any way to recover?  - Entourage will not allow sent mail to AOL I am a brand new Mac user and have several family members who use AOL for their server. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change so that Entourage will permit me to send mail to AOL? I currently get a message that specifically says I am not allowed to send mail to www.aol.com.  - Not receiving a copy email sent to my address I am not that computer savvy and am at a loss as to why i no longer receive a copy of an email back to my inbox when i send out to several addresses inc myself. The other recipients have rec'd them ok? I have a separate ISP to domain host and think i have set up Account Settings okay - i have tried speaking to both but have not. to my mind, got anywhere.  - Entourage can't get incoming email. I have been using this program successfully for about 2 years. About 5 days ago I was no longer able to receive emails on Entourage, I use Hotmail. The program would start normally, show how many email were to be received and then the blue whirling line at the rt. bottom of the screen turned into a white line with the number of messages to be downloaded remaining. I can sent email through Entourage although it takes longer for them to leave the out box. I can still access all email by going to Safari and using Hotmail. I can also link to the Internet with any mail links in Entourage. I have tired erasing my password and re-entering it(same password). I have set up a new account which assured me all was connected and accessible and downloaded all previous messages until it got to the same point and in the new account the exact same symptoms occurred.  - Exchange: Options --> After sending, move to... I sent this message recently, but was recommended that I resend it with "Exchange" in the subject line. Sorry for the duplication. ======= When using Entourage as a local, POP3 client, I made considerable use of the Option button at the top, selecting "After sending, move to..." to keep local copies of sent emails in specific folders. However, after moving over to the Exchange server, selecting these folders does nothing (and yes, I *am* selecting the folders on the Exchange server). Copies of these emails are not sent to these boxes. So my question is, is this option really not available, or is it and I'm doing something wrong? I do know that I can keep a copy of all emails sent, then later put them in folders/mailboxes, but this is not efficient.  - importing contacts from Outlook on windows to Entourage 2004 Why is there no way to import a .pst file from Outlook running under Windows into Entourage? I want to move my contacts over and I have to first save them as an .xls file, then convert to a .csv file, then reformat the ZIP code columns to become general text, then import. I did not know about the ZIP code "bug/feature" and now I have imported 2000 contacts into Entourage, which are junk, caused by the ZIP code.  - removal of HTML images from forwarded email When I "forward" a message containing HTML graphics (e.g., a newsletter or company promotional email), it replaces all the images and graphics with raw HTML codes and links. There is no setting in the panel for "preferences/forwarding" to adjust this. My "compose" panel setting is for HTML, which works fine with new messages. I am running version 11.3.3 of Entourage 2004 on a Powerbook. After 9 months my email mysteriously changed preferences and I cannot find a way to reset them. The only thing that changed was I loaded an upgrade of Office a month ago. Also, are there ruler and format copy/paint tools in compose? In windows outlook, you can use Word to compose messages. I checked my Treo the other day and realized there were no non-recurring events in it later than the current month (July). Went home to find that all non-recurring events were also lost in Entourage (Office 2004 11.3.3) on my desktop. I can't tell when this occurred, though obviously some time in last 19 days or I would have noticed it. I ran a integrity check on the db and everything comes up fine. Sadly, I realize the backup i had of the database was replaced by the new one and does not have earlier data. I do have another database on a laptop, but the data there is not updated to this month. So, 2 questions: 1. Is there anything i can do to retrieve this data. I am not optimistic on this score, but since not all of it was deleted, i'm hoping it might still be somewhere. 2. Failing #1, is there a way to take the database off my laptop with events (and mail) through mid-May and integrate it with the more current events from my desktop. Thanks for any thoughts.  - Importing archived outlook 2003 folders into Entourage 2004 Hi I have recently moved to mac, thinking that since i have al my emails secure in outlook 2003 folders, it wouldn't be too much of a problem importing them into entourage 2004, this being after all the product of the same company. Big Mistake !!!!! Does anyone have an idea how to iport from outlook 2003 folders .pst to entourage? I do not have outlook and I do not have access to an email exchange server.  - Entourage Junk Filter getting lazy About two weeks ago, I had very little junk mail(5 a day, MAX) in my inbox, but then one day, I started getting about a lot more, probably about +20 a day. This is the case both with my POP and Hotmail account. Have the spammers gotten a little smarter and able to fly under the radar better?  - Bizarre Exchange/Entourage date mess Greetings, I've looked everywhere to no avail on this topic... In May I moved 15 years of Eudora mail over to Entourage, using it as a POP3 client. No problems! Then this week I was connected to the Exchange server. I dragged all of my emails (in folders) from "On my computer" to "Exchange." Again, no problems. Or so I thought... Now when I look at an Exchange folder with emails from before my Eudora move, almost every single email is dated May 28, 2007 (the move date). The odd thing is, when looking in the same folders "On my computer" the dates are listed correctly. The saving grace is that when I double-click any of these odd emails the header shows the correct date. However, looking at the long list of emails in a folder all I see is the May date. This is not helpful when looking for certain emails. Is there any way to correct these dates? I know I can use Spotlight to find things but, like using a bricks and mortar library, sometimes browsing is the best way to find something. Thanks for your help. I do, though, have all of my calendar in my Palm, so if the default account of Entourage is Exchange, will syncing with Entourage move the entire calendar over to Exchange? That would be excellent.  - Hyphens in emails addresses cause problems? I have been using Entourage for a couple months. I also have a Blackberry and use an IMAP service.  - accessing Hotmail throught Entourage I have a Hotmail account and have used Entourage for about a week and then I suddenly recieved this message "Premium subscription required to access Hotmail" Error 18598.  - Unofficial poll on size of database Just curious as to the size of database users have. To find the size, open the Microsoft User Data folder in your Documents folder. Look inside your Identity folder ( eg. Office X Identities, Office 2004 Identities ) and locate your current Identity (named Main by default,click on the database file in column view in the Finder and you'll see the size listed. For example a new blank Identity is 18.1 MB My database is 658 MB.  - Multiple user environment I know that switch identities allows one to have different accounts on the same computer. What I don't know for sure or understand is if the Identities option can be useful in an anonymous user setting. For example in a computer lab where any one of hundreds of students may be next in line to use Entourage.  - Scheduling in Entourage Hello I'm new to Entourage and I'm trying to use it to schedule work in my office. I want to be able to create a new event with a duration of (say) 32 hours, set a start date and then have Entourage schedule this in the calendar. Then, when the event needs rescheduling (due to other projects over- running) I want to be able to drag the event to a later time, or change the duration if it over runs. I can do nearly all of this. However, what I can't do is get Entourage to ignore the weekends and schedule the task around Saturday and Sunday. For example, say I create an event with a start time of 9am on Friday morning and a duration of 32 hours, this is showing as ending on Monday, because it is including the 16 hours of "work time" on Saturday and Sunday. What's frustrating is that it's recognising my 9-6 working hours, but not the fact that we don't work at all on the weekend! I hope that makes sense and I hope someone can suggest a solution!  - Group Lists on Exchange My client would like to have several group lists in Entourage on their new Exchange server. Microsoft tech support tells me that this is not an available feature in Entourage and that realistically it's a very rudimentary implementation for local contact lists only. However, the same tech referred me over to this news list to see if anyone here may have a work-around or know something that he doesn't. Thanks in advance!  - Entourage 2004 Identities I am not able to switch identities in Entourage v11.3.6. The other day I was not able to access Entourage and following screen instructions I eventually created an updated main identity from Office X. So the Identity I am now using is an old identity from Entourage 10. This Identity plus the Main Identity folder are located in the same Office 2004 Identities folder. The location is: User/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities. Office 2001 and Office X Identities are also in the Microsoft User Data folder. I should like to return to my Main Identity created for Office 2004. I have tried using the Entourage Switch Identity procedure but it doesn't work. I should be most grateful for help and advice.  - using yahoo mail with entourage I am attempting to use entourage with my yahoo account. I have managed to get the email files to transfer over, but am not having any luck with my calendar or contact list. So... is there a way to transfer my contact and calendar information from my yahoo mail account to entourage, and can you make them sync back and forth, because right now, the email is just emptying my yahoo box, rather than being accessible from both venues.  - Multiple Recipients to Delete folder Hi All, I'm having a serious problem with my entourage. When emails with as little as 3 or 4 recipients are received, they immediately go to the Delete Folder.  - Backing up entourage data Hi everyone, Up to this point I used to retrieve all my emails on my iMac with entourage. I plan to now use my MacBook to download my mail with entourage but want to keep copies of the emails on my iMac also. Apparently all my mail is stored in a folder called Microsoft User Data - this folder also containing other folders including two called Office 2004 Identities and Office X Identities. Can someone tell me if either of these two folders, ie., Office 2004 Identities or Office X Identities, contain my backed up emails that I can transfer from my MacBook to my iMac from time to time? I must keep all my mail, including all sent mail, since I use and search all incoming and previously sent mail frequently. My Microsoft User Data file is 4.64 GB. I have a Powerbook G4. Is there a way to keep things running smoothly, so that I don't have to rebuild the thing every month or so (this has happened the past few months) - or apply some kind of rule or something that automatically "files" things in the correct place - without losing any mails? If I create a new identity for all sent mail, for example, won't that be part of the same database and thus still cause problems? Or if I move all sent mail to Mac's own Mail program, that might help keep the Entourage database smaller, but I will have to manually move things, won't I?  - Update erases all settings and inbox My girlfriend asked me to fix her inbox and what I've found is that after she updated entourage her two email accounts and all of her inbox and other folder contents are gone. It appears to be a totally clean install, and I can find no traces of the previous files on her computer... I'm not real familiar with macs, so I could be missing something big... She says this has happened before. Both times she opened entourage and it said there were updates available and she said install now, so it did, and now her messages are all gone. I looked in the documents/microsoft user data/office 2004 identities/main identities folder and it seemed clean and new... No other identities are available.  - how can we sync tasks between Entourage and Outlook We currently manage tasks/workflow in a design studio on PC's with Outlook. We are moving to total Mac workflow for designers but still need to delegate and accept tasks between PC's and Macs, from managers to designers, across Microsoft exchange server 2003 running SMTP.  - Entourage not syncing with address book and ical I have Entourage v11.3.3 and iCal v2.05. I've turned on sync services in the preferences menu for the address book and calener in Entourage and selected to replace sync services with Entourage items. I want iCal and address book to use my Entourage data so I can sync with my iPhone. However none of my data is making it's way to either address book or ical. In iCal, I even have an "Entourage" calendar created and it says it was automatically created by Entourage. It's checked but no events show up.  - Display Name question in Entourage 2004 Does Entourage 2004 have a place to enter a Display Name? This field, available on Outlook Web Access (for each contact) and in Outlook, would be very useful to update from the Mac client side. It would come in most handy if you sent email from OWA and then viewed the sent item later in Entourage. If there is no Display Name filled in, it simply shows the email address.  - Entourage smtp authentication problem I am running Entourage 10.1.6 on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.4.10) and am having problems sending out email. My ISP has just changed our SMTP settings to: Using SSL Over-riding defaut SMTP port: 465 Using authentication with my username and password. The problem is that when I first send an email, all works well. but If I want to send a second email, I get the following Entourage error message: Error: Mail cannot be sent using this account... Explanation: Security failure. Data decryption error. Help. It is obviously such a pain to constantly restart entourage everytime I want to send email. If the pictures are indeed embedded into the message then unfortunately
not. Selecting the message displays the message if you have the Preview
pane turned on. Turn off the Preview pane (View menu --> Preview Pane)
and then you can select and delete messages without them displaying.
