There are two scripts that removes preferences and attaches a note to the

Usually these scripts are run in a Rule when mail is received, but you
should be able to manually run the scripts on your messages. I would try it
on a folder at a time to see how that goes. If you have lots of messages it
could choke. Just a guess.
In addition, I suggest duplicating your Identity BEFORE running the scripts
in case things go bad. Normally, these scripts cause no problems, but
running it on all messages like this could have different results. Better
safe than sorry.
