 - Printing a sent email with all To addresses Quick question, please. I'd like to print an outgoing email that I'd sent to some 80 people. However, to keep the To list concise and so that all email addresses weren't available to the entire list, I bcc'd everyone and sent the mail to me. Now...I'd like to print that email AND see ALL the addresses to which I sent it. I need this for follow-up reasons. However, all I can get Entourage to do is print the Subject, Date, From (me) and Conversation fields. Not a single email address is visible. Worse yet, I can only get Entourage to DISPLAY about 30 of the recipients. Thereafter, an ellipsis and yellow hint box simply says "and 55 others" but regardless of what I do, I cannot see the rest. I could ostensibly do a print screen to get a copy if necessary, but without the complete list, this is also of no help. I would think Entourage is capable of this, but don't know how.  - E-mail replicates itself when deleted I am using 10.3.9 I can not delete an e-mail. The message I get after the e-mail is highlighted and the trash icon is depressed is as follows: "The action could not be completed. Not enough memory." If the e-mail message is draged to the delete box the message shows up in the delete box and replicates itself in the orginal folder it went to. The e-mail in the orginal folder time actually changes to the time the message was draged to the delete box. I have tryed deleting the e-mail account and making a new one (which has not worked).  - Losing connection and password after SP2 Since updating to SP2, Entourage has been acting quirky. Sometimes, it will fly along for days without a hiccup, and others, it will disconnent me from the server every 20 minutes. The program will randomly kick me off and say it could not retrieve mail and ask if I want to reenter my password information. It makes no difference whether I click yes or no, it won't reconnect. If I simply shut down Entourage and restart, it connects and I can continue. We are running Exchange Server 2000. My next step in trouble shooting would be to delete my Exchange account from Entourage (and all the messages) and recreate and resync. I did stupidly mess with my user name on the left side of the Finder window and switched the name. After I realized this completely messed up everything, I deleted my second user name and after readjusting a few things that were mixed up because of said issue, I figured everything was fine. The problem affects received attachments encoded using "base64" as "application/octet-stream" when the size of either the data or resource fork is not a multiple of 3; they loose their one or two last bytes. It is reproducible. With SimpleText, create a file containing exactly 4 letters. Save it. Make a duplicate. Change the file type of the duplicate to "xxxx". Send both files as attachment in an email to self, with the default attachment settings (AppleDouble, no compression). Receive the message and extract the two attachments. Change the type of the duplicate file back to "TEXT". Notice that the content is truncated to 3 chars, while the same file sent as "TEXT" is OK (both are encoded as "base64", but only the "xxxx" one is sent as "application/octet-stream"). Also note that ResEdit reports that the resource fork of both received files is damaged beyonfd repair. As a workaround, drag the whole received email to the desktop, which saves it as a file with the undecoded attachment; then extract the attachment using Stuffit Expander 7.0.3 (version 6.0.1 will not do). The faulty code appears to be in the library "Microsoft Framework 2001" version 9.0.6 (8320). The problem is cured by reverting to "Microsoft Framework 2001" version 9.0.5 (7407). Unfortunately, this library is destroyed by the Office 2001 Update 9.0.6, and there is not source for it that I could locate on the net. Also, Entourage 2001 version 9.0.6 is still affected by several unrelated bugs that pleague earlier versions: - When decoding an attachment encoded as quoted-printable, and the last byte of a 65536 byte block is either a space or a tab, it is lost.  - Entourage X toolbar button problem Hello, As I am not a MacExpert, so I ask this community for an idea or a way... One of my friend have a Powerbook 12' with Tiger (upgraded from Panther sevral weeks ago) and Office X. All applications work perfectly.... except Entourage since 3 days. 1) At launch time, Entourage says "Mail Error, the action has not completed" without any error code. After closing this message box, Entourage starts normally... Where / How can I have more detail on this error. 2) When one clicks on any toolbar buttons ( new or reply, delete etc ...) , the click looks like accepted but no action is done. If one uses the menu option or the shortcut it works fine. This appears only in Entourage. Excel, Word PPT works fine with buttons.  - Address Book/Contacts List & Junk Mail Filtering in Entourage/Exchange configuration I have to nominally separate but related questions regarding the Address Book/Contacts List in 11.2 when tapping into a Exchange server. 1. What logic is used to divide up the Address Book when upgrading to 11.2? I understand that groups are perforce part of the Address Book, but in at least a couple of instances, I've had clients who get some of their individual address book entries moved to the Exchange Contacts List, while some remain local. I don't understand why this occurs. 2. When you note a message as "Not junk mail" and choose the Add sender to Address Book option, it goes to the local Address Book. Will it also look at the Contacts list on the Exchange server to assist in spam filtering? If so, perfect. If not, it's a major inconvenience, because it essentially results in a requirement that two address books be maintained, if you want those addresses available via OWA.  - Trouble Sending Email With Entourage and POP account Hello All, Looking for some help. I've used Entourage to connect to my Comcast POP account successfully for the last couple of years. This morning when I launched Entourage, I received my emails to my Inbox just fine, but when trying to send emails, I received the following error message: Error: Permit Denied Explanation: Cannot send mail. The SMTP server does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Entourage. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings or contact your network administrator. Nothing has changed with my account settings, but to play it safe; I deleted my current Account Settings and established new ones only to receive the same error message.  - Entourage deletion problems I have an issue where emails I mark for deletion from my IMAP account sometimes don't disappear from my Inbox and Junk Email folders. It's also not that they remain with a line through them--there isn't even a line. I also have a problem with email forwarding (I think). My IMAP account is set to forward to my Gmail account, both of which I have as accounts in Entourage. It used to be the case that an email sent to my IMAP account would show up in the IMAP inbox and the "Folders on my Computer" inbox. Now, emails are spontaneously moving from my "Folders on my Computer" inbox to the IMAP inbox, creating multipe copies there.  - Mark for Deletion I have a client who recently upgraded from Outlook Express to Entourage 2004 (11.2.0). She would like to have her mail marked for deletion (with the Big red X and the line through it) instead of moved to the Deleted Items folder. I can't find a way to set that for her. From time to time Entourage won't let send a reply to a hotmail address with whom I regularly email. when I hit send, I get a message saying "the message in your outbox cannot be sent using the account "Wendy". The server does not recognize recipient or the server refuses to allow you to send mail. Permit Denied. Error 5550." I can generate and send email to other people (and they receive it). This happened once before and Comcast advised deleting the email, rebooting the computer and starting over. It worked then, but not this time.  - Automatic character set problem (sending messages) (OS 10.4.2, Entourage 2004) The "Automatic" setting on the Character Set menu does not seem able to select the correct character set depending on the text actually typed. For example with the Greek (ISO) setting one needs to specifically select it from the menu when composing the message in order for it to be legible by the recipient. The corresponding codes in the received messages are the following (from "view source"): Greek text or mixed greek and latin characters sent with "automatic": Windows-1254 Latin charactes with US keyboard sent with "automatic": US-ASCII Greek characters sent with the Greek (ISO) command: ISO-8859-7 (this is the one that works). I have created a keyboard shortcut for selecting the right set, but it is easy to forget to do it and it would be nice if entourage would automatically select the correct one.  - Sent Items doesn't update when sending messages from Entourage I have a G5 with 10.4.1 and Entourage 2004 (SP2) and a PC with XP Pro (SP1) and Outlook 2003 (SP2). Both in a corporate environment, connected to Exchange 2003. What's strange is, when I send mail (from either computer), the sent items folder on Entourage only reflects mail sent from Outlook. If I want to look at mail I sent from Entourage I have to look at the Sent Items folder on Outlook. Unless I empty cache from the Sent Items folder in Entourage - then it will update with every sent item that's on the Exchange server (this is obviously time consuming and I have to do it every time I want to update the Sent Items). This problem does not exist in Outlook. Outlook has every message I've ever sent from my Exchange mailbox. The same Exchange account is being used on both computers. This problem existed before upgrading to SP2 in Entourage but I don't think it existed before our Exchange admin upgraded to Exchange 2003. Could this be because of the Exchange upgrade?  - Very Very slow sync to exchange 2000 We are having trouble with a very slow synchronization between Entourage SP2 and exchange 2000. I installed SP2 last week on a couple of machines and tried to get a couple of us in the office setup on it to test it out. After setting up the account, it starts to sync to exchange, but seems to be going at much bellow normal speed. Each email seems to take a couple of minutes to download, and as I have around 3000 emails, it was still trying to sync after 2 full days and nights!  - Is it possible to merge Entourage 2004 data? Help please. I am running Office 2004 and OS 10.4.2. By some mysterious means, I seem to have created (?) multiple identities, even though I have only one e-mail account. Is there a way I can merge the contacts, in box messages etc into my one main identity? Some of the identity files seem large (420MB) and I don't want to loose anything.  - Ent X IMAP messages flagged as read without being read I've got a problem in the office where one system, running Entourage v.X is flagging messages in the IMAP Inbox as read even though they have not been read by the user. This just started happening a week or so back. I've not been able to find a logical explanation for the problem. There are no IMAP rules in place. Messages are *not* set to be flagged as read if displayed in the preview pane for any length of time. This person doesn't even use the Preview pane. I'm 99% certain that he (or someone else) isn't reading the messages from another machine and changing the flags remotely. I've done both typical & advanced rebuilds already-no change in state. Next on my list is a complete new identity (export contacts & calendar, then re-enter email info from scratch), but I'd rather not go that route. Any other suggestions on where I should be looking?  - synchronizing entourage btwn two computers so, I have been looking around and can't get a definitive answer. Can entourage be synchronized between two computers?  - Archival and search. Dear Colleagues: I now understand (much to my disappointment) that the most important feature in OS X 10.4 Tiger which in my humble opinion is Spotlight does not work in Entourage. I am about to archive several mailboxes I have in Entourage and the database size is currently approaching the limit of 4 GB. The last time I performed an archival of mailboxes Entourage created a file with an .mbox extension for every mailbox I archived. It's been a while since I've done it. If my memory servers me right I dragged the mailboxes I wanted to archive to the desktop to do it. Then I simply created a folder where I stored the mailbox files for archival purposes. In case this is not the right procedure, I would appreciate if any colleague could point out what the right procedure is. It seems to me that the .mbox format is not searchable by Spotlight. Is this right ? In case these .mbox files created from the archival of Entourage mailboxes are not indexed and searched by Spotlight, is there a way to archive these mailboxes that would make them searchable ?  - Dear Mr. Berkowitz et al... a number of problems. Please help! Hello I hope you can help me. I have recently 'converted' my wife to Mac OS after her being a lifelong Windows user. She was a power Outlook user and is seriously disappointed by Entourage, and I cannot solve her problems. We appeal to you and anyone else for help. She is using a G4 PB, OS 10.3.9 Entourage 2004 She has almost 3900 contacts- she is an international film Sales Agent and has contacts from countries world wide. I didn't think this number would be a problem, but... The problems are: 1. She receives all mail twice. How can she end this? 2. Entourage is incredibly slow. a. When choosing a window in the Address Book, it takes an unbelievably long time to initiate b. When switching a column view, it takes an unbelievably long time to initiate 3. When you open a contact, she cannot see all the main info like in Outlook. Is there any way to see the complete "Notes" section? This is very important for her 4. The search tool in contacts: Not only is it painfully slow, but it does not have an method (as she had in Outlook) using 'Find' to search any field. 5. When she sorts by country, the results are jumbled. Is there a way to have results of a search open alphabetically? (If she open a search with all 'Germany' buyers, can it open alphabetically?) 6. She needs to use groups extensively- once she creates a group, how can she modify/change them and easily find them? Can anyone recommend a great tutorial to read???  - Updated Calendar events problems I haven't been able to find this problem in other posts: Entourage 2004, Exchange 2003. Mixture of PC's and Macs (about 150 Macs, 3500pc's). The issue seems to only happen to the Macs which are running OS 10.3.8 with Open Directory server 10.4.2. Accepting an invitation to a calendar event seems to work fine. If there is an update to that event, it doesn't work right: Before SP2, sometimes the "Updated: " invite would have the same day and time as the original meeting, and therefore, even if the user accepts the update, it won't reflect any change in the user's calendar. I decided to wait for SP2 to see if it was resolved. Since SP2: It seems now the problem is that the OLD event doesn't get deleted, causing multiple instances of the same meeting. Obviously, this is a problem. I almost drove out of town for a meeting that was updated from yesterday to next week. I have checked my time zone on my computer and in Entourage- they do match. The only workaround that I have found is to accept any updated meeting invitations via Outlook Web Access. This correctly updates the meeting and deletes the old one.  - entourage memory problem? i am a brand new mac user - i have a new powerbook g4 and use entourage on it. the program has been working smoothly but then all a sudden yesterday it wouldn't download my email. it says that there are 17 messages left to download and comes up with an error message that there isn't enough memory.  - Attaching files shows weird icon Hey all, When one of my users goes into the open attachment dialog box to select the file to attach, if he clicks on ANY folder in that dialog box, the rightward-pointing triangle (which points to the contents of the folder in the next column) turns into a yellow upward-pointing triangle with an exclamation point in the middle.  - Entourage Rule shortfalls... Recently I was asked by a friend to help his wife out with some confusion she was having with her Entourage on the Mac. It turns out that the mail server she uses had recently been switched to allow for access through IMAP only. (Previous to this she connected to the server using POP3.) As she had been using the old setup for quite some time (although I'd upgraded her through the various versions of Office X) she found the new look of her access to her mail folders via IMAP quite confusing. I decided that I'd make her IMAP environment look as much like the POP3 folder structure as possible by setting up rules to move her incoming mail to her local inbox and her sent mail to her local sent folder. Simple, right? Nope! It turns out that there is no trigger for actions to be performed when mail is retrieved or when mail is sent like there is in the PC implementation of Office 2003. On top of that if I tried to setup a option/preference to have her sent mail deposited to a local Sent Mail folder the software ONLY allows you to use an IMAP folder on the server! I don't have a Mac in front of me right now or I'd probably also run through a bunch of user interface inconsistencies I ran across as well during this process. I'm betting that MS will not address these shortcomings in the current version of Office and probably just opt to implement them in the new Office 2004 but I was really disappointed with the discrepancy in capability between the PC and Macintosh implementations of their mail client.  - Bug in Entourage: Can't adjust QuickTime volume in preview pane Hi gang, I've discovered a bug in Entourage that I'd like to report to the Macintosh Businss Unit: When you receive an incoming email message that has an attached QuickTime file (this file could be a .mpg movie, a .wav audio file, an .mp3 file, or any of the many formats that QuickTime recognizes), you can WATCH the file within the preview pane but you cannot adjust the VOLUME from within the preview pane. When you click on the little "speaker icon" to adjust the volume of the file, it doesn't let you adjust the volume. A workaround to this is to double-click on the email message to open it up in its own window -- then you can adjust the volume. You could also, of course, double-click on the attachment and open it up in QuickTime Player as well. But it sure would be convenient for us to listen/watch these QuickTime files within the preview pane. (Particularly now that we're Vonage subscribers, we get all of our voicemails through Entourage so it would be nice to quickly listen to all of the voicemail messages within the preview pane.) A long stretch of the beginning of the email is what I assume to be the written out programming of the email's HTML, and the rest of the information is in tiny hard to read and user unfriendly text. My personal emails come through fine. Is there a fix for this? I have snail mailed the two organizations I subscribe to to see if there's anything on their end causing the problem but I haven't heard anything from them yet. I think your answer is, in fact, in the Rules.

If you create a rule that applies to mail sent to that particular POP
account, and has as its action to "redirect" your message to the specified
email, it should accomplish what you want to accomplish (which, I presume,
is to have a copy of the email sent to the specified email account without
letting the recipient of the original email know that you are copying it to
the other account, right?).

It does not actually BCC the message, but creates an additional message that
will be placed in your outbox to be sent with the next batch to your
specified email account.

Does that work for you?
