 - Bringing in old emails from 2006 When I select send/receive, my Entourage is bringing in thousands of old emails from 2006! These are coming from copies of old emails that remain on the server from my ATT Yahoo account. (It appears this might have started happening after daylight savings began a couple weeks ago...my Microsoft Sync Services.app says it was modified on March 12, 2007.)  - Separating Accounts Using ENT 2004 for MAC, ver. 11.2.1 I have 2 accounts set up I use 1 to send direct email from me, I use the 2 for sending daily information to a list of recipients When sending direct email from me I designate 1 as the default, when sending to the list I designate 2 as the default I always receive email from accounts 1 & 2 regardless of the designated default Is there anyway to halt email reception from either 1 or 2 at my will? I only want to receive from 2 (account used for sending to the list) once a day, not continually. Also, is there anyway to open an account in a completely different Entourage screen, so that the two accounts are completely separate?  - Entourage Time Issues When looking at my Calendar in Entourage, the start time that shows for the meeting under the Day, Month, Week, or Work Week view is the End Time. When I bring up the event the times are correct. Is this a known issue? Tag: Auto Fill Tag: 75479

 - No Spotlight Pref I think I have worked out why, but not what to do... On my system Spotlight works fine with Entourage, however with most of the other users in my organisation the 'Spotlight' item is not visible in the Entourage Preferences menu. I think this is because I have been using MS Office 2004 since it was released and have gone through all of the updates (inc. the 11.2.3 which added Spotlight), whereas most of my colleagues have come to Office 2004 quite recently and have gone straight to 11.3.x bypassing the 11.2.3 update. So that's the problem and I think why it's happening, anyone else seen this have any suggestions how I can add Spotlight now that the 11.2.3 update is no longer available? Thanks all.  - Error -3253 I just installed Entourage, and decided to have my e-mails transferred to my new mailbox, thinking they would still stay on the Earthlink server (and in that inbox as well). Unfortunately, they didn't, and I called Entourage support to figure out how to keep them in my Earthlink box from here on out, but unfortunately I now have to forward the remaining 800 e-mails from Entourage mail back to my Earthlink address. I have yet to try and send an e-mail from Entourage mail, but I just got a message saying: "Connection to the server failed or was dropped." My question is, does anyone know why I might be receiving this message error, and is there a way to fix it? Am I not connected?  - Entourage X workaround did not work? I did the "unofficial entrourage x workaround" and times are still an hour off on the calendar display, but show correctly when you open the item. I opened them, made a change, and re-saved them, too. I noticed some things, the timezone file on the mac, and the one that downloaded, was timezones, NOT timezones.ics, and it was supposed to be located in Office x/office/timezones, but there was no timezones folder, the timezones file was just under office folder.  - Attachments When I receive attachments - either in Word or Excel - in Entourage.......they are unable to be opened with either Word or Excel.  - Entourage cutting sent emails short Entourage has been cutting short some of the emails sent by one of the users at our company. I have just updated it to Office 2004 for Mac 11.3.4 but am still having the problem. I have just worked out that it seems to cut any email short where there is a full stop at the end of a line on the 76th character. This only occurs within Entourage. When the same email is sent using Mac Mail or Outlook from a PC the email sends correctly. But when sent through Entourage the email is cut after the full stop. The section of the email that is sent is in plain text (whether the original email was sent in html or plain text). When you look in the Sent Items folder at the original sent email it appears normal and full length but obviously the recipient of the email only sees the text up to the where the full stop was. We use a linux email server with Altermime which adds a disclaimer to the bottom of each email. I presume however that this must be a problem with Entourage as all the users of other email clients (Outlook, Mac Mail, Thunderbird, Webmail) have no such problems. Any suggestions?  - Message Status reply indicator I just noticed that messages I reply to have an indicator that points backward to indicate that it is a reply. However, clicking it doesn't take you to the original message. Is there a way for this indicator to take you to the original message that you either replied from or forwarded from.  - "This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage" Good day, I have a user running Mac OS X 10.4.9 and MS Office X. After she updated to 10.4.9, she gets the "This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage" error whenever she launched Entourage. I have performed an advanced rebuild of the database and updated Office to version 10.1.9, but neither have successfully resolved the issue. If I remove her identity from the ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities folder, Entourage boots normally. Is the database just whacked? Or will I need to reinstall MS Office?  - Any way to target meeting responses with a rule? I'm a recent mac convert, and so far, the only thing that I can't figure out how to do is this: Any time I send out an invite to a meeting, I like to know who's going to be there, so I request a response by default. This lets me open up the meeting in my calendar, and see a list of who's going and who isn't. However, I don't necessarily want 50 "Event accepted" messages to show up in my inbox. On Outlook, I had a filter set up that would move them all to a folder so that I could view the comments if necessary, without cluttering up my inbox. I can't figure out how to do this with Entourage's Tools > Rules dialog. Any ideas? Maybe an AppleScript that could just be run on all messages to check for something? Viewing the source of the meeting responses, they seem to be in 3 different categories. 1. Outlook/Entourage response, no comments: I can target these by looking for the Specific Header of Content-Type: text/calendar. 2. Outlook/Entourage response with comments, or iCal/AppleMail response: The message type is Content-Type: multipart/mixed;, and one of the parts has a Content-Type of text/calendar. Everything else works, but when I press command-comma the pref window opens for a second and the Entourage quits with no error message, just asks if I want to reopen or send a report to Apple.  - "Find Related Items" like PC Outlook version does? Hi, I use Outlook on a Win XP machine at work and Entourage on my Mac at home. I cannot find anywhere in Entourage where there is a command that behaves the same as the "find related items" command does in Outlook. I use this extensively on my work computer because it automatically finds any messages in my inbox and sent items which belong to the same thread and allows me to quickly select all those messages and file them in another folder together. There is a "Find Related Items" command in my Edit menu in Entourage but it is always greyed out. From what I can read about it, it will only find "related" items which I have manually created links to. Not very helpful in my opinion.  - Can't delete a Corrupt Schedule Using Microsoft Office for Mac X v.10.1.6 (ENTOURAGE) / MAC OS X 10.4.9 I am having the same problem as described below (in 2004) I too tried both recommended steps - with no success. And I'm having to do REBUILDS weekly due to crashes. I've cleaned out my inboxes, and I still get errors.  - Similar Calendar Event Problem: Some Events Display Incorrectly I'm using Entourage 11.3.3 and System 10.4.9. I believe this all revolves around the various Apple and MS updates (or lack of updates) around the daylight savings time changes. Some repeating calendar events that began prior to DST display on the calendar 1 hour later than they should. I've downloaded both Apple's and Microsoft's updates, but nothing seems to fix this.  - Troubleshooting receiving meeting invitations via email When a client of mine emails a group of us to accept/decline/tentative a meeting invitation via email my other colleagues receive the email with the option to accept/decline/tentative (which then adds the event to their entourage calendar once accepted), however on my entourage program I do not receive that option. Instead the email just shows who is invited and what time the meeting is. I have checked the entourage preferences with the others and everything seems to be the same.  - Delegated calendar now blank Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do when a delegated calendar all of a sudden appear blank. No entries at all as far back as I can go. On Friday it was working as well as expected with a full weekly calendar. Mac client is running MacOS X 10.3.9 and Entourage client version 11.2.3. Server is Exchange 2003.  - 1000+ Contacts No Longer Available in Entourage Please Help!!! Since yesterday (3/17/07) I have been unable to access ANY of my contacts in Entourage. I am the only contact listed in the Address Book. All of my email appears to be intact and I seem to be receiving new email as usual. Also, the calendar still contains the events that were there beforehand, although the links to contacts are missing. My "Database" file (located in the Main Identity folder; inside the Office 2004 Identities folder; inside the Microsoft User Data folder; located in the Documents folder of my User folder) is a 345.4Mb file (yes, I have a lot of contacts in there). I have rebuilt the database 3 times; once from within the Entourage Preferences (in the Spotlight section) and twice via the Entourage Database Utility, where I have also backed up and compacted the file. The resulting Main Identity Database file is 170.2Mb. Note: Shortly before discovering the disappearance of my contacts, I utilized the Apple Software Update program and installed "Security Update 2007-003 / Mac OS X v10.4.9", which upgraded my system from 10.4.8 to 10.4.9. The update required a restart, which I performed. I hope this helps and the problem is obvious to someone out there. I really need to access the missing info and I am in a desperate way as a result.  - Entourage Updates Data loss After installing an update there is no data in Entourage. Apparently the data file is moved. Why? I could only get my data by restoring from a backup ie it was an emergency situation. I can't believe this is supposed to happen as if the features of the program are used it becomes an essential part of your working environment and the time wasted after updates can be nothing short of traumatic.  - Suddenly have multiple instances of the same appointments in Entourage calendar Yesterday when I was working on the Mac a dialogue box popped up asking if I wanted to resolve all conflicts in calendar. I ignored it and continued with my work. I did not shut the computer down last night. Today calendar entries, including standard holidays, appeared up to 40 times on the same day. Any thoughts?  - Can't access old Identity data Hello... Last night I performed a clean install of my G5 system software (updating it to OSX 10.4.9 after initial install), and am now having no luck getting Entourage (v.X 10.1.0, updated to 10.1.6) to open my old Identity folder. After running the Office X 10.1.9 update (Entourage still shows as 10.1.6 for some reason), I restarted and then repaired permissions as instructed on the Entourage help page. I renamed my old indentity "Old Identity" and added it into my (user)>Documents>Microsoft User Data>Office X Identities folder (the same location as the newly installed "Main Identity" folder). When I attempt to switch identities from within Entourage, the program windows disappear and I receive a message: "This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage". Upon closing the dialog box, all that is left of Entourage are the menus (no windows). If I attempt to switch back, Entourage disappears entirely and is replaced with the standard Mac error message: "The application Entourage has quit unexpectedly...". I can no longer open Entourage unless I physically remove the "Old Identity" folder, which enables it to launch off the apparently preferred "Main Identity" folder. The file I'm mostly interested in retreiving is the Messages file, which, judging from the file size (10MB), is where all of my old mail resides. Sneaking this into the "Main Identity" folder doesn't work, Entourage seems to just ignore it. I was successful importing my old contacts via my exported Contacts Export.txt file.  - Unread mail wont appear in Bold I just changed my hard drive and copied over the Microsoft User Data folder from my old computer. All my mail is there and everything looks great except for some reason unread mail wont come up in bold in the list.  - Cannot start Database Utility I need some help. I'm trying to rebuild my Entourage database but I can't seem get the database utility to start/open. I've followed the steps listed in the Microsoft support Knowledge base; close all applications, hold down the Option key and open Entourage. Instead of getting the database utility window Entourage opens normally. I've tried several different times even holding both Option keys but I can never get the database utility.  - Office notification -for re-scheduled reminders Hi, I use the Entourage calendar to keep reminders for bill and other payments. Since these are not always on the same day each one, two or three month periods, I move them to the appropriate day and month. However there is some inconsistency in the Office Notification when I move these. It seem sometimes for some they work, but at other times some don't produce a reminder at all on the due date. My queries are: Is this an expected behaviour, and Can they be made to provide a reminder without the need to remake them altogether?  - Changing the From field in Entourage Is there any way to change the From field in Entourage 2004 to show another account I have access to without using the Delegate feature? Here is the situation as confusing as it sounds. We have a generic exchange account set up for the editor of our magazine (ex. editor@mymagazine.com) that is shared with the multiple editors (actual living, breathing people) for that particular magazine. These accounts are shown as Public Folders in Entourage. None of the users are set up as delegates. The question that has come up is if they can send emails as the main editor@mymagazine.com email account. In Outlook in Windows, the From field may be edited to the editor@mymagazine.com address and then the user is authenticated to that account before it is sent out.  - Can't Delete an Email I received an advertisement email from Linens-n-Things. Entourage immediately froze. After restarting Entourage, I find I cannot delete, move, forward, or otherwise affect this email. It is a stone monument in my Inbox. I get an error code: "The action could not be completed.  - Is there a way to select the from field when replying to messages we recently migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 and have found that due to the use of Public Folders, when replying to messages that arrive to those folders the person sending the message will send it from his/her personal account as opposed to "xyz on behalf of".  - Spotlight Option missing from General preferences Help! I use Spotlight extensively on my Entourage mail database. The problem: I had to reinstall MAC OS X from the original discs the other day - I selected the option to retain my data, programs etc. All appeared to be well until I noticed Spotlight was no longer giving me results from Entourage. went to the Preferences and the button under General to use Spotlight is now completely missing.  - Intermittent freezes since 10.4.9 update Since I updated my Intel iMac to 10.4.9 my Entourage v.X would intermittently freeze and I would have to force quit in order to get out of the program. I can relaunch Entourage and repeat exact what I had done just before the freeze and it doesn't happen again. Usually I can complete a session when this happens. When this happens I sometimes get an error message: -192 but not every time this occurs. What is error -192? The message window display includes the Entourage logo. Do you have the preference set for Compose: Display a list of recently used
addresses when addressing messages?

Are the people you receive mail from daily in your Address Book? Check to be
sure the category Junk has not been accidentally assigned to these
addresses.

Test Entourage in a new Identity. Import your addresses but not your other
data. Does Entourage work in this setup? If yes, try rebuilding your
database to see if that helps.

Tip If you send and receive many messages, your list might become
cluttered with unneeded addresses. One way to minimize this effect is to
make sure that Junk E-Mail Protection is turned on. Senders of messages that
Entourage classifies as junk are not added to the recently used address
list.
