Anyone even look here?

Anyone else have a feeling using this group is useless. I have never gotten
a response on anything I have ever posted here. Maybe my issues are to
tough.

Joe - I check pretty much every day and answer what I can (if someone

The short of it is through syncing with Sync Services and Dot Mac I somehow
had a lot (1,000) of calendar entries Time Zone changed. They are now
Casablanca and should be Eastern.
I'm guessing there is no way to revert this but I do backup my home folder.
I'm wondering where the calendar file might be. I can't find it. I see the
User Database but is this calendars or contacts?
If it's both do I have to manually go in and change 1,000s of entries, that
would suck, but if I do is there a way to find items changed on just that
day?

Joe: I'm not familiar with the sync services and dot mac, but I did
find this web site that seems to have answers and a place where you can
talk to people who do:

Hope it helps. I am an Exchange administrator and can pretty much help
with that, but I'm clueless on the Sync Services arena.

Can you tell me where the calendar entries are stored so I can use a back
up?
Is it my "Main Identity" "Database" in my Users folder? If so does this also
have my emails in it? I'm guessing I would then lose emails if I reverted to
a week old database. Any confirmation of this?
This is getting very discouraging. I've always been a Microsoft supporter
but it's been very tough getting help on this and it's really looking like
I'm not" big enough" to make it worth while to use Entourage. Seems to me
there should be a file or folder that can be backed up and restored as
needed. I can't afford an IT person to handle my emails and backups.
I do appreciate your efforts "Hat" but I need to get on with work rather
than computer repairs real soon here.

Yes, everything's in the Database file.

Yes, you'd lose stuff if you reverted to a week old database.

I accepted the answer and will move on with my life. Correcting 2200
calendar entries.
Now..... I know Microsoft people look at this group so if anyone of you want
to chime in please do. Doesn't this all in one "solution" create a lot of
problems? Seems like that file would bloat quickly and, just as in my case,
trying to fix one problem actually creates several others. Help me
understand why this is a good idea? I'm getting really close to switching to
those very simple and very basic Mac apps that came with my computer. Please
give me reasons to keep using and keep paying for Office.

There are pros and cons in using a monolithic database. You often make
trade offs like having a bit of extra overhead in the file (to store
the database metadata) in order to gain things like the ability to
search it quickly, or link things together, or...

When I have had to do this in the past, I have found an advanced find view
(or custom view) that finds all calendar entries (there may be one built in
now, if not use a view for 'category is none') will list all events in one
window where you can sort by date, by title etc. You can then select
multiple similar items to apply the same category to all of them. It makes
things a lot quicker than applying the categories one at a time.

That does absolutely no good. It changed the Time Zone not the Category.
There is no way I can find to view Time Zone in a list that I can find.
Someone please tell me I am wrong. I have even tried Smart Folders but that
includes all kinds of other items too.
Bottom line. A calendar contains over 3,000 entries. Entourage got corrupted
and changed the Time Zone of the events to Casablanca on over 2,000 of them.
How can I find and change these 2,000 and not dedicate my life to it?

Sorry, my mistake - I was getting my threads crossed.

However, it should be possible to change time zones by script...

A time zone for an even can be set by integer. I need to look up what the
integers refer to and I can knock you up a script to change all the events
in one go.

However, I'm away from the keyboard this weekend, so it will have to wait,
I'm afraid.
