I could sure use some of you all's advice...I am frustrated by the
significant limitations with Microsoft's Entourage X sync conduit. It
isn't just that the categories in Datebk5 (a good 3rd party Palm
calendar program) all turn to "None" in Entourage...but the fact that
some portions of my addresses in the Palm just inadvertantly
dissappear, causing me to lose important info without even realizing
it. Also, when I edit or delete events on the Palm, after the sync
they revert back to what Entourage had, which pretty much means I have
to make all changes and deletions out of Entourage...NOT my palm!

I am certainly open to other options, including the Entourage 2004
conduit or some 3rd party conduit, but I would rather decide based on
all of your prior experience. What say you?

I am running Panther OS 10.3.9 and using a Palm Tunsten E.

I had a referral on another DateBk5 newsgroup to check out Missing
Sync, but it doesn't seem to help with the actual Tungsten E/Entourage
syncing problem. Does anyone out there have any experience with this?

Pocketmac GoBetween for Entourage. It's basically a plugin for iSync. I
use it to sync Entourage to Apple Mail/iCal to my Ericsson p900 PDA
phone. Every so often I have minor problems like duplication of events,
but with the last release I haven't had any problems for months.

Petro, does this replace the Microsoft Entourage X conduit when
syncing? Is it a better, more reliable conduit, or does it do
something else on top of the Microsoft conduit? I found the
pocketmac.net website and was looking at GoBetween, but can't seem to
determine these answers. If it will help give more reliable syncs
between Entourage X and the Tungsten E I'm all for it, I just can't
tell myself from what I'm seeing...

First of all, be aware that the conduiut on the Microsoft web site is an
updated version that was released in August 2004 at the same time as the
10.1.4 "Exchange" update. If you downloaded & installed your copy before
that, you should be sure to download the latest Entourage update (10.1.6)
and the latest conduit.

Some of the new Palm devices have "Organizer Plus" applications. Unlike
previous Palm devices, these new Palm devices include Calendar, Contacts,
Memos, and Tasks. They also have new features that are not recognized by
the Handheld Synchronization conduit. This problem is described in detail
at the Microsoft Knowledge Base <http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=833405>.
Unfortunately, there is no workaround at the moment.

NOTE: At the moment, PalmOne devices shipping with Organizer Plus include
Zire 31, Zire 72, Treo 650, Tungsten E, Tungsten E2, Tungsten T3, and
Tungsten T5.

Yes, iSync (as mentioned in a previous post) does replace the Microsoft
Entourage conduit. Basically, the method suggested would have you
synchronize data to iSync, and then use iSync from Apple to sync with the
Palm.

Other products like GoBetween include Paul Berkowitz's "Sync
Entourage-Address Book" & Sync Entourage-iCal" scripts.

Another such product is e2Sync
