I'm a MSDN universal subscriber. Where can I get hold of TraceView 2.0?
Thanks

DDK has that in the tools folder.

I have 3790, which is Win2k3, and it only has 1.0, which is, frankly,
crappy. I'd like to see if 2.0 is any better

I don't remember if WHEC2003 DDK has that.
My DDK 3790.1238 has that. I've seen that in earlier beta DDK but couldn't
remember the build#. Did you join the beta program?

I've heard that 2.0 was given away at WHEC. Unfortunately, I wasn't there at
the time. Which beta are you talking about? Longhorn? Is TraceView 2.0 in
Longhorn DDK? Thank you.

I do know that it is in the 2003 sever SP1 build 1218 DDK. Since you are a
MSDN universal subscriber, you can download this from the MSDN download
site. Check under platforms, server 2003, 64 bit section, build 1218.
Should be there. There are newer DDKs (as Mr. Guan implicitly points out),
but so far they are not available on MSDN...the BETA program would give the
only opportunity for getting these until someone finally posts them on MSDN.
*cough* I'm trying to join the BETA program for this very reason.

You might try downloading the Windows Server 2003 SP1 DDK, which is still in
beta. Go to the MSDN Subscriber Downloads page
(https://msdn.one.microsoft.com/Subscriber) and drill down to:

Platforms
Windows Server 2003
Windows Server 2003 Prerelease/beta
x64 Edition Systems
Build 1218
Prerelease: DDK for Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 Build
1218+ (English)

Many thanks... I didn't look under the 64-bit node...

I've just tried TraceView 2.0.14 after downloading 200 MB of DDK 3790.1238
junk. What a wonderful piece of cr.p! On an attempt to load PDB it says
"file cannot be found". At the same time, TraceView 1.9 works just fine.
What huge progress they made since 1.9!

I always get the "file cannot be found" error when attempting to use the pdb
- I use the ctl file instead and a lot of the features don't work (eg,
filtering). I assume the features don't work due to not being able to
specify the pdb. Is it possible that the pdb file simply doesn't work on
64-bit platforms (x64, amd64, em64t) or works on amd64 but not em64t (intel),
which is what I'm using?

The version of TraceView included in DDK 2003 SP 1 Beta is so buggy that it
is unusable. It doesn't work on x86 either. The previous version is less
buggy and can even sometimes produce some meaninful output.
