    - I am missing ExInterlockedRemoveEntryList It would seem to me that it would be necessary to have a routine lik ExInterlockedRemoveEntryList(plist_entry head, pList_Entry item, pkspin_lock lock in the ddk. There is a RemoveEntryList(pList_Entry) but that is clearly not a safe routine to use. Is it there under a different name?     - SetupCopyOEMInf stuck on oem0.inf Hey all, I'm using SetupCopyOEMInf to pre-install 2 different INFs. Both calls to SetupCopyOEMInf copy to oem0.inf. So basically the second copy overwrites the first. This did not used to happen and it does not happen on any other machines I've tested it on.     - Virtual Drive development Hello to everyone. I want to develop a virtual drive that will behave similarily with a normal disk, but to be mounted from a file in the original file system. The format of the file will be also developed by me. Can someone give me some directions? What to study, what is the architechture of such virtual drive? Do I need a new device driver developed?     - PPC2003 802.11 Driver connection problem I have a driver for an 802.11 device that works on PocketPC2003 and I am trying to make it support windows 802.11 OIDs. Scanning works fine and Wireless properties panel displays all APs, and when I select one, OID_802_11_SSID comes to the driver correctly. I return NDIS_STATUS_PENDING, get the MAC to associate succesfully and in the assoc confirm indication I do NDisMSetInformationComplete, followed by NdisMIndicateStatus with NDIS_STATUS_MEDIA_CONNECT. OID_GEN_MEDIA_CONNECT_STATUS also shows connected state. But wireless properties does not show that I am connected to the AP. DHCP also does not happen. Why is this happening? Ndis goes on trying to associate with the other APs in the list, with the same result in each case. What else do I need to do to inform NDIS that the card is associated? I tried doing the connect indicate as soon as I get the set SSID request, to eliminate any timing problems, but there is no difference. The reader works well with all the PC/SC standard cards now. But when connect the reader to PC,it caused process msgsrv stop. After disconnect the reader, the process msgsrv works ok. If the user has uninstalled the device by going in the device manager it doesnt show up in SetUpAPIXXX calls. Anytime i re-enumerate the devices if any devices do not have drivers installed then the "welcome to the found new hardware wizard" comes up on WIN2k and WINXP.     - controlling windbg - multiple threads are inflicting pain I've narrowed some very bizzare behavior from windbg to the problem that I'm seeing multiple threads run into my breakpoints while I'm trying to single step through code. Is there anyway to prevent this? I currently am using KeDelayExecutionThread() to delay so that hopefully the driver is not consuming all of the cpu cycles. Is this an acceptable technique? If so, should the WaitMode argument to KeDelayExecutionThread() be UserMode or KernelMode? The DDK recommends UserMode if the wait is a "long term wait". What constitutes a "long-term wait" ????     - Trouble installing driver from install program. Hi. I have a driver based off the fakemodem.sys example driver in the DDK. It installs ok from the modem control panel, however I need to do it with an install program because some registry entries need to be written that will be read later by the driver. I am basing my install program off Walter Oneys FastInst and have a problem at the UpdateDriverForPlugAndPlayDevices step. GetLastError returns E000022D which is ERROR_NON_WINDOWS_NT_DRIVER. If I skip that step, I can reboot and I get a dialog asking me to show it the driver, if I do then I get the error "This driver does not support Windows XP". This is wrong because it (the .sys) was compiled with the XP DDK. If I look in the setupap.log file it has that error message for both cases, using the UpdateDriverForPlugAndPlayDevices function and the reboot, dialog box method. In setupapi.log it say, this driver does not support windows xp. It is not even looking at the .sys however, there must be something in my .inf file preventing windows from installing my driver. Any ideas? The same .inf file works fine when installing from the Add Modem control panel option. I am a MSDN Universal customer if this helps. I create a virtual com to serial port driver , but there is a problem to get the port name (com x) I get the port name by counting SerialCOMM entrys in registry. somehow , it will be difference with the DeviceManager results. ex : DeviceManager show the name "COM4" in control panel, but "COM3" is my result. how could i do to get a port name as DeviceManager's.?? bear Tag: For readers of marginal notes Tag: 44153

    - Allocating aligned memory blocks in WDM Hi ev' one. I have one question. PLX9054 requires descriptors have to be aligned at 16 byte boundary. I allocate memory for descriptors by ->DmaOperations->AllocateCommonBuffer().
