DDK is missing src and samples

We downloaded DDK from Microsoft
and installed it yesterday,
but the samples for HID are missing.

C:\WINDDK\3790.1830\...

But there is no 'src' directory with samples

\src\wdm\hid\hclient

The DDK is obsolete, get the current WDK.

for a Visual-C++ program built with Visual-Studio 2003 (v7.1) ?

Ok will do.

Will WDK work as a library for USB (HID) functions such as HidD_GetHidGuid
for a Visual-C++ program built with Visual-Studio 2003 (v7.1) ?

Our Visual-C++ program is not a driver, but is part
of a large, system GUI.

I'm using it for Windows XP.

The WDK is this year, the last DDK was aproximately 4 years ago. The WDK
supports 2000, XP, 2003, Vista and 2008. The WDK is like the DDK a set of
libraries, headers, samples, tools and documentation.

That means you didn't install everything. The installer lets you choose
which sections to install.
