A while back I was trying to do the same with the 98 DDK sample IPNew and
came across similar problems. I found that by building the sample within
the VC 1.52c IDE, it built just fine. Since I had the IDE, I was satisfied
with that answer and was content to work on my original issue I was working
on.
If you're a MSDN subscriber, you can download the VC 1.52 C package from
the MSDN Subscriber Download area. It is (well, was) available on Disk 3
of the Platform Archive package labeled 16-bit tools, or something like
that.
Otherwise, you'll have to work out the environment variables to make sure
that it is hitting the Libs that it expects.
Sorry I couldn't give better advice.
