I've got 3 observations here:
1. First of all, this is technical NG and not job advertisement board.
Therefore, there are some people around ( for example, I am pretty sure Don
Burn is one of them -normally these people tend to be hard-core
professionals) who would not respond to your ad purely out of principle -
they would not even take you into consideration, because they see posting ads
in the wrong places as a strong indication of being just not serious enough,
and working with clients who are not serious is normally just a pain in the
back (actually, few inches below)....
2. Driver types are different from one another. For example, video drivers,
NDIS drivers and FS drivers bear very little (if any at all) resemblance to
one another. Therefore, you are hardly going to find a generic Windows driver
writer - if you want to hire a specialist for some particular driver-related
contract, you should at least specify what particular type of driver you
need. You did not say anything about underlying architecture - instead, you
are asking about rates. An ad like "I need a driver writer... please give me
rates" is, again, a strong indication that the company that has posted it is
just not serious enough...
3. How on Earth are we supposed to contact you if you haven't provided your
address, let alone a company name???
The above is nothing more than just a general impression. Normally I try my
best not to arrive to any conclusions right upon the first impression and
superficial details - there is always a chance that, in a particular case,
superficial details not really indicative, although quite often it happens
that they are. If you don't mind, you can send a detailed desription of your
techical requirements to my private email address - let's see if your company
is serious enough to deal with. If it is, we can discuss things....
