Hi all,
At my place of work, we decided to monitor our print servers and log details
(number of pages and copies, job size, user, computer, etc.) of every job
sent to the print server. We've successfully written an application that runs
on each PC and constantly monitors the print spooler for new print jobs.
Everything seemed okay until we noticed that Word (all the versions we tried)
would only come up with one (1) copy each time a job was sent to the printer
even if the number of copies exceeded one! We turned off Background Printing,
but that didn't help.
This isn't very good as our reporting can no longer be seen as accurate.
If anyone has got ideas on monitoring the print spooler and getting the
right number of print job copies from MS Word, I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks
in advance. Please not that all other applications work perfectly.
