Force Win98SE to use of WRONG USB2 driver?
I bought a no-name USB2 card off EBAY.
It came with win98SE drivers, but the driver locks up my system.
It's a NEC chip, but there's no clue to the vendor or driver site.
I found a driver from a different vendor. I can force 98SE
to let me install the wrong driver and it works,
Problem is that every time 98SE boots, it thinks it has a new
USB card and wants to install drivers.
Can I edit the registry to attach the card to the driver? How?
Or maybe rewrite the .inf file to point to the driver that works
and reinstall? How?
Tutorial on .inf files?
Thanks, mike
