    - User name change Hi I have a user who has go tmarried and hence changed her name. This has been changed in the AD and hence her Domain Logon Name has changed. Now when she tries to log into CRM she get s the no permissions error message. I am unable to change the logon name in the User profile in CRM. I tried disabling the user and then creating a new one with the new logon but I get an error message saying the user already exists.     - Type of error message Hi While fixing a problem with CRM 3.0 one of the MS help desk personel got me to change a setting that produced a more in depth error message when a problem occured in the system. The problem is I can not remember where it is to set it back and these error messages are not general user friendly. Can anyone help ? I am trying to read a XML document with the following name space and get an error. The XML document is encoded (nested) within a Soap Envelope that is returned via a Web Service.     - Excel 2000 - macro not found I developed an Excel 2003 spreadsheet with an embedded worksheet form button with an assigned macro written in VBA. A toolbar button is added in an entity in MSCRM 3.0 for user to click to open the Excel spreadsheet. Customer's Thailand branch office says it doesn't work. So far we tested with Excel 2003 in Singapore branch and no problems at all. I found out that the Thai branch users are running Excel 2000, but don't know if there are any SRs applied. When they click on the embedded worksheet form button it says "The macro ..... cannot be found." where "....." is the correct & complete path of the assigned macro. It seems to me that the macros perhaps somehow "disappeared" when users open in Excel 2000 in web browser via MSCRM 3.0. We have tried the following but doesn't help: - Set macro security to LOW - Reprogrammed embedded worksheet form button to point to the full complete macro path - Clear browser cache What else to check?     - CRM an Telephone System Alcatel Hi everyone, i have just set up a test crm server with a test alcatel omnipcx telephone system. My setup is a windows 2003 SBS with CRM small business and exchange router. How does crm contacts differ from outlook contacts?     - Unable to search Accounts, message says 'No Attribute'? I'm having a problem with the search utility in CRM 3.0. When I try to perform a search on an account in the 'Active Accounts' View (whcih is set to the Default Public View) all I get when I click the 'Find' button is a message box that says 'No Attribute' with an OK button on it. The error started on a new Server and CRM install when I was trying to create an association between a custom entity and another entity. SQL Server took all the 2GB of ram and locked up the server. After about 5 minutes I paused SQL then Stopped it and then rebooted the server. When it came back up and I accessed CRM the above issue started. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.     - MAPS Upgrade to Open LIcence with software assurance? Does anyone know if this is possible? I am a MAPS user and have currently maxed out my 10 seat license for CRM 3.0. Is it possible to buy additional licenses for this? I am asking because i just bought a 5 user seat and a full media kit. The User licenses do not come with product ids. However, the media kit did. I tried entering the Product ID into the license manager for CRM, it says there already is a server license installed and it will nto let me add another.     - Product Mappings I am currently using standard out of the box fields for Products and notice that when I create a Quote and add in the Products the Product Description does not map over even though it is on the quote Product form.     - Data Migration Wizard for Outlook Doesn't Recognize my BCM MDF My CRM environment is on 2 boxes. 1 for the CRM server and 1 for SQL 2005. 1) Copied my SQL DB over to the SQL Box as instructued 2) Attached the DB to SQL with the Query example provided 3) Invoked the Wizard on the CRM box 4) Passed all tests before being presented a dialog for the MDF 5) Pointed to the MDF file on the SQL box as requested (UNC path to MDF file) 6) Modal error message "Select a valid Outlook with Business Contact Manager database" 7) Tried copying the MDF and LDF files over to teh CRM box, but the same thing happens.     - CRM Mobile 3 - Incoming phone calls We just installed the CRM mobile solution on pocket pc's phone edition (WM5) with our CRM 3.0 system. Synchronizing contacts works fine and outcalls to this contacts work also fine. Now I'm wondering how to get information about incoming calls from crm contacts.     - Desktop Client Error We have recently implemented MS CRM 3.0 with the CRM-Outlook client (on-line mode). Whenever I have Outlook open, I am frequently annoyed by the following error message dialog: "This record is read-only in Microsoft CRM. Changes will not be synchronized to the Micrsoft CRM system." Other team members experienced this same message initially, but then it stopped for them. However, I continue to get this message. Note the following: 1. I have CRM - Administrator rights 2.     - Tracking a Custom Outlook Form One of our users has created a custom Outlook Contact form. It basically contains an additional text field and the form has no scripting in it whatsoever. He'd like to track these Outlook contacts in MSCRM.     - CRM 3.0 Sales Stage Problems I have set up a Sales Process using the sample as a basis for my Process. When I add an opportunity, nothing happens. I have checked security on the CRM server for workflow and it seems ok. If I manually Action>Apply Rule: Sales Process the sales process to the opportunity, then it processes correctly. However, the pipeline report never shows the Sales Stage. I added the Sales Stage to the Opportunity Form and it always comes up unitialized.     - Email Tracking w/ Replies Hello. I am noticing some inconsistencies with CRM 3.0 regarding tracking emails in CRM. When we create an email activity that is to be tracked in CRM and send it, a copy is sent to the history of the associated account/contact that the email is being sent to, no problem. The problem enlies when the person responds to the email (keeping the tracking token in the subject line.) After I receive them in my inbox they are not also copied to the history, I have to manually hit "track in CRM" again. I was under the impression this was a streamlined process and once an email has been designated to be tracked, the activities are automatically copied into the history of the account/contact as long as the tracking token is associated with the email, requiring nothing else from the composers.     - Migration of data fails - CRM data migration framework Anyone know how the CRM data migration framework works? I have in a test environment set up a new CRM 3.0 and populated it with users and some basic data. With the SSIS in SQL Server 2005 I have populated the Account table in the cd_mscrm database. Then when I try to use the "CRM data migration framework" and the CDF migrate wizard it says "The migration wizard completed succesfully". But no data are migrated. The table says 0 cdf records, 0 migrated records and 0 non migrated records. Still there are 3900 records in the account table. Why is they not counted - what am I donig wrong? Is there some flags causing this problem, because i worked once but with faulty migration status. I have restored the CRM database to a pre migration status also but with no luck. I'm stuck! Hi,

I'm trying to migrate data from Microsoft BCM to the 90-day trial version of
CRM Professional 3.0. I have CRM installed on one server with its SQL
database on a seperate SQL Server Standard 2005 server. CRM is installed
and working properly.

When following instructions in the "Microsoft CRM Data Migration Framework
Readme" I can only successfully attach the BCM database to SQL2005 if the
database files (mdf and ldf) are on the SQL server. If I do this, and then
try to specifiy the mdf file to the Data Migration Wizard for Microsoft
Office Outlook with Business Contact Manager, the wizard tells me:
"The specified file is either not a valid Outlook with Business Contact
Manager database, or cannot be attached. For more information about copying
and attaching the database, see the Data Migration Pack readme file."

The readme says I must run the Data Migration Wizard on the CRM Server. Any
help getting over this hurdle would be greatly appreciated.

Well I finally gave in after not finding a solution anywhere and installed
CRM on my SQL server (as a second install). The import worked flawlessly.
As this is the trial version, licensing was not an issue. I plan on
removing CRM from the SQL server and running in the orginal configuration
once all the data is successfully migrated.
