    - emails arriving at a Queue Hi there! We have configured a queue in CRM, which will gather all support emails. It seems to work fine, except that each email comes at least 20 times!     - Creating a new excel template like SFO quote mailmerge template I want to create an excel template for calculation purposes on quote form. Print Quote for customer on SFO lets you create a word mailmerge template.     - Contact and Account Relationship I have Account1 with primary contact as Contact1. Account2 with primary contact as Contact1. When I do an an advanced find for accounts with primary contact as Contact1, it shows me Account1 Account2 1. Now, one contact is linked to multiple accounts. I am confused here, I thought contact can have only one account. Can someone clarify this ? What I want to do is, create a side tab Accounts on contact form which when clicked will show all the accounts linked to that contact. 2. How do you create a side tab ? 3. How do you create a new form linked to side tab and associate a query to it ? In my case the query is "Show all the accounts linked to the contact" Thanks in advance for the help.     - Incoming Emails Hello, We installed the CRM1.2 on the same server with exchange. Everything is working fine except that the CRM users can not see incoming emails inside CRM although these emails are CRM emails. Can anybody tell what is the reason of that?     - Wacky Default Values I have a picklist in both my Contact and Account records with a default value set. If I create a new Contact or Account, this default value works properly. However, when I convert a Lead to either a Contact or Account, this value appears in the record when it is pulled up, but it is displaying a blank in all my views.     - Simple import of Product Is there a simple way to import products into the system? Let's say I have a long list in Excel with all my Products, would it be possible some how to import this data? First I thougt of just putting it directly into the database, but that doesn't work because there are several fields that I think CRM has to generate the data for (or...?). Anyways, it's properly not a good idea to play around with the database like this. So what would be the "right" way to do this, if there is any? I looked around in the manual for the Data Migration Tool, but it seems so ... big. Is this really the most simple way to do a data import. I was curious - when we want to create our own custom page within the CRM, how do we adopt the 'style' of the core CRM pages and use the controls that they have? Is there a core CSS that I need to apply to my pages that's provided by MS? I would also want to mimic their tabbed environment, and the ability to use their multiline selection control that's used all over (i.e. the one that displays the contact list based on view).     - Unable to view reports in MSCRM 1.2 Hi, I've installed MSDN version av MSCRM and everythink works fine.But I'm not able to view/create any kind of reports and I don't get any kind of error at all.     - CRM Router Problem Hello, We are using the MS CRM 1.2. I installed the CRM server, updated our Exchange 2000 Server and installed the CRM Exchange Email Router. I also configured the SQL server as mentionned in the implementation guide (Section: Installing the Microsoft CRM-Exchange E-mail Router) and configured the user's extensionAttribute as mentionned in the same section. My problem are: 1) When a conctact, that is in the CRM and activ, I don't see the mail in the CRM. 2) When a CRM user is sending an email to this contact this email doesn't appear in the CRM I thought that the CRM Router made a copy of an email when this email exists in the CRM server.     - Creating additional panes of data in CRM 1.2 When we select a Contact, I want to be able to bring up both the History and Activities associated with the contact.     - Change the owner of a lead without keeping the lead shared When I assign a lead to a different user, the old owner still has access to the lead via sharing. This is a system default, described in article 33290 in TechKnowledge. How can I disable this? When I re-assign a lead from one sales rep to another, I don't want the old owner to see the lead anymore. Also, does anyone know where in the CRM database this sharing info is stored?     - Undeleting picklist field values I have two picklists. One using industrycode in Leads, one a custom field in opportunities. They are mapped. They originally (and always should) have the same values in the list. Several of them were removed from the opportunity picklist (and not the Leads picklist). I now need to 'restore' the original list (the leads list). Has anybody figured out a hack around to do this? I can see that the values still exist in the StringMap table, with a display order, but I see nothing that indicates which values are actually used... The only alternative is to delete the original values from the lead list, too, then add them back with the same numbers, so they'll map properly. Any help much appreciated.     - Modifying Cases View within Account Window Here's the problem (as best I can explain it): If you associate multiple Contacts with an Account, and then open Cases for each Contact within the Contact window, the Cases do not show-up in the Account view of the Cases. I.e., you'd think that any Cases opened for Contacts that are related to an Account would also show-up in the Cases view within the Account, but they don't :( Is there a solution to this? It seems almost pointless to associate Contacts with Accounts if the Cases and such for each Contact are not grouped together in the Accounts window :( Sincerely, Todd M.     - restoring CRM databases I am working on our data migration for a new CRM implementation. I do not have a test environment so I was thinking of doing the following 1. Backing up CRM databas 2.     - Installation Problem - Adding License Key I am installing CRM on a SBS 2003 system. I have been careful, so am surprised to have the following problem. I am at "Add a License Key" on page 139 of Implementation Guide. When starting the Deployment manager, I get "Snap- in failed to initalize". Any ideas?? The only part of the installation so far that might have tricked me was the adding of members to the Pre-Windows 2000 Compatible Access Group (page 138).     - Upgrade to 1.2 with new key (OU) I am about to upgrade a 1.0 crm server (running win2K SBS) My concern is that MS-CRM 1.0 is using the Adventure Works Key and the 1.2 key is a Client's key which, if I understand the setup correctly, will use an OU in the company's name not 'Adventure Works' name. I need to keep the data that is currently in 1.0. Unless the upgrade migrates the data correctly, to only way I can see of doing is backing up the databases and customisations wiping MS-CRM 1.0 from the system installing MS-CRM 1.2 import customisations using the data migration tool migrate the data from the 1.0 database is this right ??     - Simple aspx page I would like to make a custom display of CRM data. Something like finding one Customer record, get the data via XML and then format it and show it in a aspx page that I can link to I understand that this is possible, but I have several questions 1.     - Clustered Exchange Servers and the Exchange Router I have a client that has recently installed the Exchange Router. We can send email out fine and it displays the GUID on the subject line and creates the appropriate closed email activity using both the browser and SFO client. The problem is that replies to these emails do not create the corresponding activity records in CRM. The user gets the email in their inbox in Outlook. We're being told by MBS support that clustered Exchange Servers are not supported and I just do not understand why this would matter. We've tried and double checked every other DOCUMENTED prerequisite and tk to no avail.     - Customizing CRM 1.2 Home Page I'm a C#/VB.NET developer that's been put in charge of the CRM system for our company. One of the requests that has been made is to change the "Home" page to allow the sorting of activities based on different fields, etc. How can I do this?     - Server localhost is not responding I'm attempting to add a user to CRM using deployment manager. I'm at my server and logged in as Administrator. When I select user manager and then double click on my organization name, the user manager is displayed on the right hand side of the MMC. If I click on refresh, I get the following error. 'Server localhost is not responding. This might happen if it is currently unavailable,it is not a Microsoft CRM server, or you do not have sufficient privileges to run User Manager.     - Blackberries and synchronizing contacts Hello! In our office we have blackberries as many of us are out of the office often. I would like to get all of the contacts from the crm into the blackberries without using the mobil portal as I find it quite cumbersome and time consuming to find a clients number. I have synchronized my data in outlook and this updates my contacts folder with some contat data. This is great as the blackberry picks up the contacts in that folder. However, it does not pull all the contacts...is it pulling only the contacts that I have entered? Does anyone know? If so is there some way i can make it put them all into outlook?     - object ownership How can we keep the ownership of an object to be fixed? We have several circumstances in which a quote may need to go to another department. When the issue has been resolved the quote is converted to an order. The owner of the order object at this point belongs to the person that did the conversion. If at this point the order has not been reassigned to the original owner ( the owner of the quote object ) the follow up messages are sent to the wrong department.     - Importing Accounts and Contacts Hi all... I have a HUGE list of accounts and contacts which need to be imported from Telemagic. I'm currently working on cleaning data, etc. My question is this. I plan on importing Contacts into CRM using the Import Tool. However, I see no way to import Accounts, only Contacts and Leads. I am trying to avoid using the CDF database since I am only importing Account and Contact information - no activities. Is there a way for me to import a list of Accounts first and then to do the import for the Contacts? Or will I have to use the CDF staging database? I saw another post that mentioned something about a data migration tool on the server, but I found nothing that was like that except the CDF stuff... Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated.     - Old Quotes, Orders, Invoices Will old Quotes, Orders, and Invoices eventually drop of the preview panes. For example 10 months from now will I still have those older items on the preview pane. A 90 day window is perfect anything after that we dont want to see. Also, with quotes that have been closed, or revised we dont want to see on the preview pane. Is there a way to do this?     - Reassigning Contacts & SFO I am using Microsoft CRM 1.2 and SFO. I want create a contact on behalf of another user so that it will sync using SFO with his Outlook and not my Outlook. I created a new contact and saved it, then reassigned the contact to my colleauge. However, the contact still syncs with my Outlook and doesn't appear in his, even after we have both gone offline and online again and completed full sync's.     - Sales for Outlook installation - server not found I am getting the error on several versions of Outlook "Setup was unable to find an instance of the Microsoft CRM Server components". I have tried on PCs running Office 2000 and Office XP with the same result. Here are the details of the installation: server has host name mscrm; is entered in DNS with same correct name --have tried in URL mscrm.xxx.com, crm alias to mscrm, the IP address, with/without http:// in front of it I verified on the CRM server itself that it is an AD member, is running the Indexing service, Message Queuing, and the CRM Security service. In fact, I re-registered the Security service to be a dependency of SQL Server. I also applied all patches and service packs available for Windows 2000 itself and SQL 2000.     - crm and great plains integration Has anyone had problems with this? I have ran the migrate scripts from the crm and great plains integration cd and everything transferred over fine except for invoices. Only 25 invoices transferred out of 62,000 however, the sql server is still being pounded by my integration server. I tried to stop the job by rebooting, but as soon as the server restarts...the job picks up where it left off. The number of records that have transferred aren't changing when I run the count script against the CRM database. I am also getting tons of warnings/errors in regards to the DX pacakges. I've imported the DocumentExchange.dll several times, but after about 10 minutes it starts giving me the warnings/errors again. I noticed that eventhough the number isn't change on my count script that on my integration server there are tons of DTSRUN.exe processes running. Hi Marco,

CRM is 'just' an application. It does not has to do anything with your operating system. Therefore it does not matter if your windows is english or italian.

You should decide for yourself (italian is probably easier for you)
