    - SRS 2005 and SMTP setup Hi, I'm a little confused on how to setup sql reporting services and allow scheduling of reports with email distribution. My environment is pretty easy...we have everything on the same box. Windows Server 2003, SRS 2005 and MS CRM 3.0 r2. I've walked through the SRS config pages and tried tweaking the rsreportserver.config. I can successfully email via my smtp server. However when I subscribe to a report and have it send an email I get the following error. "possible reason - service account doesn't have rights to check domain user SID". Does anyone have a good walk through? I assume it has something to do with the service account running SRS, but I can't get any type of account to work.     - Importing a Marketing List into CRM I want to create a Marketing List by doing a Bulk Import of the list of Accounts into CRM (3.0) from a tab-delimited text file. All of the Accounts and their mailing and other information already exist in CRM -- I don't need to import the Accounts themselves, I just want to create the Marketing List with the Accounts added as members of the list. It seems like I should be able to supply a .CSV file containing a list of the Accounts I want included in the list, and during the Bulk Import CRM should add those Accounts from its own store to the list. But that doesn't seem to be the way it works. When I try to create a Marketing List of Accounts via Bulk Import, I am required to provide the Account Name and the Relationship (which will always be the same for every member of the list). If my CSV file contains other fields, I am able to map those to the fields in a CRM Account. However, I want to use the values already stored in CRM for each Account, and don't want to 're-create' the Account object just for the Marketing List. When I complete the Bulk Load Wizard steps (creating a new Marketing List to accept the list), a Bulk Import Activity is created and marked as Pending. It never progresses beyond that point, however. I have tried restarting the MSCRMWorkflowService, but that did not cause the Bulk Import process to run. It just sits there, with no indication of a start time and no values in the boxes for successful/failed records imported. A possible complication: The Accounts in my system are not uniquely identified by their Account Name field. In addition to the GUID for an individual Account, another field -- "AccountNum", a custom field -- serves as the human-readable unique id for the account. I have included that field in my .CSV file and mapped it to the correct field in the Account. I'm probably missing something here. Can someone provide guidance on how this should be accomplished?     - Marketing Lists We are exporting a marketing list through the "export to excel spreadsheet" tool in order to print mailing labels. When we try to export the marketing list we are getting all of the contacts in CRM. I have tried this on two different CRM environments and have the exact same results.     - Printing a contract Perhaps I misunderstand the intention of the contracts...but I would like to print a contract so that it can be sent to a customer with details of the agreement. The default print view is uninformative and vague. (example: billing address does not show an address rather an index card that says the name of the billing address).     - Change phone number mapping on Phonecall Activity Does anyone know of an easy way to change the field mappings between leads and phonecall activities? We would like to change the mapping from business phone to home phone on the phone number field. There is currently no way to modify mappings on activities. I thought about a few ways to accomplish this: 1. change the display name on business phone to home phone and vice versa. I don't really like this approach. Very simple, but I would have to go back and correct data, etc. There has to be a better solution. 2. Create a callout on the phonecall create event. Check the related entity to see if it is a lead. If it is, grab the home phone number and populate the phone call activity. Would this overwrite the default mapping or vice-versa? Any thoughts?     - Final Problems Alright. Getting closer and closer to the full instal of CRM onto our network, and there are only two hurdles left. The first error message I am getting, during the install, states "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.". The second error, agian during the install, "Setup cannot connect to the Microsoft CRM server. This might indicate that the server is down."     - Scribe Migration from Goldmine question? Linked documents failure I am running into a little "failure fetching source row" error on part 3 of the migration from goldmine to crm using scribe. it appears that there are some "broken links" in our linked documents section of goldmine. This is due to documents being linked, and then someone moving them. This is a minor issue in the grand scheme of things, but Scribe stops cold with the "failure fetching source row" is there any way to make it continue, rather than breaking the migration?     - Adding user CAL to Action Pack CRM 3.0 SBE Hello, We have CRM 3.0 SBE installed from our Action Pack subscription. We have need to go beyond the 10 included user licenses and have purchased 2 more SBE user CALs through Microsoft Open Licensing (along with a 5-pack of 2003 SBS CALs we needed). The problem is on the eopen website where I get the license keys for the 2003 SBS CALs, the new CRM user CALs are listed but there is no license key. I have no idea how to get the key needed to add the licenses we just purchased to our current CRM installation. I can't even seem to find anyone to call who even understands the problem. Both the original install and the new licenses are registered at the CustomerSource site, but nothing there seems to indicate where I can get the needed key or how otherwise to upgrade the installation with the two new user CALs.     - Can't Trigger Manual Sales Processes I have created rule that triggers one of several manual sales processes when an Opportunity is created. It checks several conditions and then calls one of a few manual sales processes based upon the condition. With my security role, the workflow runs as intended, however, at the level of the intended user, the trigger rule runs fine and the Workflow Monitor says it is completed but the manual sales process never runs; it doesn't show up on workflow monitor. I suspect a permissions issue but I cannot figure it out. Is there a specific security role setting that has to be available to run a manual sales process? Thanks for any help or suggestions.     - RDC Crystal Reports integrated problem I use Report Designer Component (RDC) in my program to allow user modify reports. I downloaded RDC Merge Modules for Crystal Reports XI Release 2 from BO. It is the zip file contains 4 files: * CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Designtime.msm * CrystalReports11_5_RDC_License.msm * CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Reportengine.msm * CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Runtime.msm I made a build and install but I got the error about license. So, I try to add all 4 merge modules and use the install serial (I bought the Developer Edition) for keycode property of CrystalReports11_5_RDC_License.msm. Unfortunately, I got the same error. An exception of type 'System.UnauthorizedAccessException' occurred and was caught. Type : System.UnauthorizedAccessException. at CRDESIGNERCTRLLIB11_5.DLL ... Message : This system does not have a valid license, or the evaluation copy of the license has expired. Please contact Business Objects to obtain a Report Design Control license.     - deleting fields Hi all, I have 12 different custom entities, and each entity approximately have 200 fields. I want to put a button to the toolbar of each entity and when pressed this button, It must delete the data in the fields of the entity. The normal way to accomplish this is, to put a statement like this: crmForm.all.schema_name.DataValue = ""; BUt it will take too much time for me using this idea (there are 2500 fiels).     - Amortisation Has anyone any idea about how to handle amortisation of revenue and profit on CRM. This is the concept of when the product being sold is a contract based service which has one or more payment points in the year but that the revenue and profit can only be recognised on a monthly basis. So for example if the invoice is Â£12000 per annum each month for commision reports Â£1000 against that single invoice should be reported. My only thoughts so far have been to add additional fields in which the amortisation can be detailed. This would then give issues on reporting.     - Contacts, appointments,clients, companies I can deactivate but I can't delete, any help? I have my CRM 3.0 under SBS 2003 Premium and everything works fine except for a problem I have when deleting appointments, contacts, clients. I can deactivate them, but I can not delete them. I have an SQL error. I set the option in development errors to ON, but I don't get more messages, also I tried to make changes in the database with SQL and everything work fine, I changed the status code.     - Email without Exchange Server Is there a way to configure the email settings without installing the Microsoft Exchange Server. I mean, I am using the web client only at the moment and I want to figure out a way to send and receive emails with out the exchange server since I have not installed the Exchange server at the moment.     - How to lock closed opportunities Hi, I would like to prevent users from re-opening closed opportunities after a certain period from the Actual Closed Date. This is to prevent them from changing some of the information. The best would be to disable the "Reopen Opportunity" option in the Actions menu for the closed opportunity. I found that there is no access to the menu if I want to use javascript and workflow manager does not seem to cater for this scenario. I also looked at the security privileges but it does not have controls to menu level. Can anyone advise me how I can solve this? Thanks. Our crm (v 3) cases are in this format - CAS-02111-CYYE12 - which is a bit of a mouthfull both for the call centre to read out, and customers to remember. Is it possible to configure it so that as case is created with a shorter ref ie just the first part - "CAS-021111" ?     - Help understanding the functionality of the 'My Work' queue - Emails Morning all, I am after an explanation of how the 'My Work' queue should behave. I have read through the Implementation Guide and looked at various sources on the internet but can only find information on setting up a new queue. We are using MS CRM 3.0 and have been passed a request to get users to check/use the My Work queue. The problem is we have had no real training on this side of CRM and dont really know if its functioning correctly in the first place. What are the critirea that an Email activity has to meet to end up in the users My work queue? Should it only end up in the users queue or does it go into the queues of all parties (To, CC, Bcc)? Sometimes when sending emails from within CRM or outlook, they end up in a users queue and sometimes they go straight into the 'All Activities' view marked as completed. I cannot seem to pin this down to a pattern/user and just need a pointer as to what behaviour I should expect before I can diagnose why this is happening. I thought you had to create an email activity and assign it to a user for it to end up in the My Work queue but this is not always the case and its driving me crazy.     - Outlook still crashing post Update Rollup 2 being installed A few of my users, not all, are having Outlook crash on them. The errors read, "Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.8118.0, stamp 456628bf, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, stamp 00000000, debug? 0, fault address 0xffffffff. I have applied update rollup 2 on all my clients. When I look at the version of crmaddin.dll, it reads 3.0.5300.1558, which I believe is the latest. I'm not sure what to try next. Has anybody had problems AFTER installing update rollup 2. Most people say all their Outlook crashing problems were fixed after installing this update, but this unfortunately is not the case for me.     - CRM Desktop Client installation - Vista/Outlook 2007 Hello all I am trying to install the desktop client on my coworker's machine, but it asks me to enter an admin username and password. I did the first time, but the installation failed because it said that the user had to initialize the Outlook inbox. This had happened before with another installation of the same setup to another coworker, I assumed that the installation detected the admin as the current user for whom the client was being installed, so the way I got around this was to make my coworker an Administrator while the client was being installed, it worked, I changed it back afterwards. So I tried this again with my other coworker (the one with the more recent installation, the one I was originally talking about) but the installation asked me for admin credentials again...I don't know what else to try.     - Record Unavailable Message to End User with CRM 3.0 I have a user who is getting "Record Unavailable" on his active accounts and contacts. He can access his opportunities but the Account Name has "Record Unavailable". I checked his User records and he is not working in restricted mode.     - CRM 3.0 Update rollup 2 server error - db927751 I'm trying to apply CRM Update Rollup 2 to CRM 3.0 running on SQL 2000, Windows Server 2003 SP2. I receive the following error after the executable unpacks and begins the install... "Setup failed to update the database. The installation of this update has stopped. Contact Customer Support Services." Digging around in newsgroups, I found a possible solution by removing the Data Migration Pack. I did so, rebooted the server, and the install still gives the same error.     - Outlook 2007 and CRM Client on Citrix/Terminal Server (TS) problem Hello all, A customer is running Citrix PS 4.5 , Office 2007 (since 3 days!). We installed CRM on the servers with Office 2003. All was working fine. But since the upgrade it started to fail. As an admin, we can repair and everything works fine. We used a modified TS install script (Vbscript). The most anoying problem (some is dutch), see under the line below: - Question: where does it check for the difference between profiles? HKCU? if yes where? - strange thing is it worked one time with this user and than logged of and back on again and this started to happen. This error is with random users. We tried recreating the outlook profile, no luck. We tried removing some registry items no luck. We need more info to find this solution. Any help is appreciated! There is "Unsubcribe" button on the Quick Campaign email form. When I click on it, it does nothing. For example, go to Contact, use Ctrl selct 1 or more than 1 contact, click Quick Campaign and give it a name, select email from the option list, an email form pop up.     - Reporting Services has no reports I cannot see any reports in CRM. We're running SBS 2003 Premium R2 with CRM 3.0 running on this server. The SQL databases and reporting services are installed on a separate 2005 SQL cluster. I've checked that reporting services is running on the cluster. http://<sqlcluster>/reports brings up the SQL Reporting Services and a folder entitled "CompanyName MSCRM" which is empty. How do I determine the physical location of this folder? I've checked in deployment manager on the SBS and CRM Reporting Services is pointing to "http://sqlcluster/reportserver". Is this correct? In the SBS, the folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Reports\MSCRM exists and contains reports. We have not customised any reports so far. To my simple way of thinking, everything is working apart from the fact that the reports are on the SBS and not on the SQL cluster. If I'm right, does that mean I just need to run the DownloadReports program and possibly publishreports too? Any help gratefully appreciated!     - Look up address problems Hi, I've searched diligently (I thought!) for a solution to the following problem but although i've found others asking the same question... no answers. I'm sure someone must have come up with a fix or at least a good workaround, i'd appreciate your comments if you have... When creating a new order or editing an existing order, you have the option to "Look Up Address..." on the tool bar, to insert an existing address of an account into the shipping and/or billing fields of an order. The first time I tried it, to my horror, there were no addresses! I've imported all my account data through the Data Migration Framework. I've since found out that if I create a brand new account, its address IS available through the "Look Up Address..." function. Trouble is we have 3,000+ accounts that are shared among a group of sales/support people, all of whom need to be able to create new orders. If anyone knows a way of making the addresses available to me and everyone else, or another suitable workaround, i'd very much appreciate hearing from you. Aamir,

First of all, the document is copyrighted. That means you can't republish
it. Not sure why you'd want to anyway. Secondly, you can post the link
because anyone that has access to Customer Source or Partner Source can
access the same document.

The Canadian CRM 4.0 Partner Launch is happening today, so I'd assume all
NDA's are done at this point.
