    - Non Domain Users in CRM?? Is it possible to have non domain users in CRM? The reason i ask, is because we just went to an Active Directory Domain last March, and made the change from Novell and Lotus Notes, to AD and Exchange. I have allot of users who arent actually using the domain, and log into thier local machine. they have accounts in the AD for Exchange, and other stuff, but they will not want to be forced over to the daomain for this program.... any ideas?     - Problems installing the Outlook Client I am trying to install the outlook client on a terminal server and it keeps telling me "the logged in user is not a domain user". I can access the web client but cannot install the Outlook Client. The terminal server is on a separate domain with trusts setup.     - Word 2007 doc , upload problem in CRM Hi, I was trying to upload the word 2007 doc in Account with size only 10 KB and was getting error. There is no problem when you zip the word2007 doc. The error was like : "File upload filure ......".     - ACT! data migration problems We are using Scribe and their ACT! template to migrate data into MSCRM. We are doing something wrong, because each contact record is creating a new account record, instead of the contacts from the same company being added to a single account record.     - Emails in system mailbox, not in queue Hi There, I have set up a queue for a support team and deployed a rule for it through the rule deployment wizard. Emails sent to the support address are arriving in the mailbox in exchange, but there are no copies of the emails in the queue. What I have done so far: - Support account and email already existed in AD, set SELF to have full rights and Associated External Account - Added CRM server and Exchange server and granted full mailbox access. - Ensured CRM system mailbox is in PrivUserGroup as well as crm and exchange server - Created support queue in crm with support email address, me as owner and parent business unit. - Ran rule deployment wizard using crm system email address used to install the exchange router, and deployed rule to the support account. Sent emails to support email address, they arrive in the exchange mailbox but do not arrive in the support queue. There are no errors in the event viewer. Any ideas on what could be the cause of the problem? Getting a lot of pressure to have this resolved asap, so any help would be greatly appreciated.     - Converting Leads to Opportunities in CRM 3.0 (changes since CRM 1.2?) We are in the process of upgrading from CRM 1.2 to CRM 3.0. In 1.2 we were able to convert Leads to only Opportunities. However, in 3.0 it appears that you must also convert the Lead to an Account or Contact as well (i.e. after clicking on the Convert Lead button, if you select only the Opportunity checkbox, the OK button is disabled, however, if you also select either Account or Contact, the OK button becomes enabled).     - Default Web Site What is the significance of the Default Web Site? When should one choose to install to the Default Web Site vs. creating a New Web Site for the CRM 3.0 deployment? This is a CRM 3.0 Professional installation on a member server (Web Server) in an SBS 2003 environment. I just noticed in the Implementation Guide, when installing on an SBS box: "Do not install Microsoft CRM to the default Web site." When installing on a Windows Server (member Web Server, for me) it says: on the Select Web Site Page, select a Web site from the Web site list. Or select the Create New Web Site option and setup will create a new Web site for Microsoft CRM Server. I did install to the default Web Site on the member server, and it is working fine. But I may want to change this URL when I go to make it Web-accessible from the external Internet. Is it easy enough to change your CRM Web Site (URL) at a later date?     - httpModule injection Hi all, I'm trying to develop a class that extend IHttpModule for injecting in some pages some script tag for including js file.     - Upgrade Path - CRM 3.0 SBE to CRM 3.0 Pro I wanted to move my CRM Server to a Web Server, off of the SBS 2003 machine. I accomplished this using CRM 3.0 Professional. Now I would like to re-import my customizations and my data. I'm just thinking out loud, but here is what I would presume the requirements to be for this: 1. Uninstall the CRM 3.0 SBE Server from the SBS 2003 machine (after backing everything up) 2. Delete the Existing CRM 3.0 / SQL 2005 Database 3. Install CRM 3.0 Pro on Web Server (Windows 2003 R2 Member Server) with the Same Organization Name 4. Import the Customizations 5. Restore the Database Like I said, I have "accomplished" the main goal of installing the CRM 3.0 Pro application on the Web Server, but I ran into a problem installing with same organization name. I think this might have been because I didn't do Step 2 -- delete the SQL database first. So I installed with a different organizaton name to later find it unable to import customizations or restore data. I would like to go back and try again, but I'm nervous about wasting a lot of time if either Step 3, 4, or 5 won't work. I'm worried that it will not be possible to import the SBE customizations / data into the Pro version. (I'm sure it doesn't work if you don't have the same organization name!) Please let me know if it is do-able to import customizations from SBE to Pro IF you install the latter with same organization name... I took the advice of numerous posts and purchased Scribe insight for the data migration. There is very little for instructions for this software.     - SRM 3.0 for SBS - SQL 2005 reporting server OK? Trying to "test" install CRM 3.0 for SBS on a SBS 2003 Premium R2 server. Installation gives option to install a sql Report Server or use existing. The one it tries to install is SQL 2000 and the screen says it is not compatible with other versions of SQL.     - iFrame help Hey all, I've been working on my first iFrame implementation within CRM 3.0. I created a simple ASP .NET page that reads data out of the MSCRM db and displays it. The user can then check boxes next to the records to indicate whether or not that record was used. Upon submitting the page, the data is written back to the db. The page works as expected in Visual Studio 2005. However, I'm having a couple problems within CRM. The page shows up in the frame as expected, which is fine. Question one is, how do I access methods within the iFrame? For example, I'd like to be able to call the submit(); method in the form onSave event... I've not had any luck getting to it. I've tried several variations on the crmForm.all.IFRAME_CR_Contacts.form1.submit(); to no avail. I have searched the forums, the web, and looked through my CRM customization class paperwork and I can't find an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A case should never be resolved without this checklist being completed and this checklist would outline the basic conditions of service delivery. I am familiar with creating custom enitities but unsure what event should be used and what the best way to create this entity should be.     - Having same behaviors for CRM users as for contacts Hi, We need same behaviors for CRM users as they exist for contacts. Specially concerning marketing lists. Our customers frequently have to broadcast a newsletter or a document to a panel of external AND INTERNAL contacts, amongst these internal contacts, lot of them are crm users. The only solution to days is to duplicate these CRM users in a contact entity, but there are a lot of undesirable side effects. 1) mail tracking is no more running (same address in contact and user leads to no tracking!) 2) confusion in the mind of crm users concernaing the place where is their history records. 3) usage of sharing informations through attribution and sharing is difficult to understand with all these duplicate datas. An elegant solution would be to allow crm users (systemusers) to be incorporated in marketing lists. The second step would be to have the customer pseudo entity actually including prospects, accounts and contacts, also include systemusers. Here is the challenge, not so difficult according to existing database schema, allowing just the systemuser typecode for customer entity seems easy ? I have used the demo-lab numerous times but I still find it impossible to create customer-ready quotes.     - Thoughts on Sales Processes .... Hi, I am just wondering what is the best and standard way to create the sales process. It is pretty easy to create tasks for steps in the sales process and make little check lists for each stage. However, do you think it is necessary to do some scripting to prevent users from being able to move ahead in a process by graying buttons and menus out? For example, I need to create a field where only mangers can edit before being able to create a quote. Would it make sense to gray out the quote, order, etc buttons? Or is waiting on a task to be completed sufficient enough? When supplier has any queries regarding specific (accounting system) order number, we can't go to Case or Order view and use the search field at the top there. I managed to find the CRM Case or Order using Advanced Find. But it takes time. The install fails during the custom install when specifying the Reporting Sevices Server URL. I can't seem to get the sysntax or the true address right.     - Filtered view linked table behaviour from Microsoft Access Using CRM 3.0 and Microsoft Access 2003 We have a legacy database using access that linked to Golmine (dbase) contacts for the pupose of contact lookup which is then used in a quotation table and subsequent lookup of address information on a printed "Quote" form. This has been in place for years and has performed well. We are changing from Goldmine to CRM 3.0 and I am having trouble with the behaviour of the linked dbo.filteredcontact view. The view does link and can be used in another access table (say Quote) to lookup a contact ID. However a access query that joins the CRM view fields with the "Quote" fields does not return the records. I also created a new SQL view based on the dbo.filteredcontacs view - the behaviour is identical. Has anyone had experience with this issue and can advise on what I might be doing wrong?     - V3c desktop version won't load Hi; I'm having trouble with the v3c (desktop version; Office 2007 on Windows XP sp2 with IE7). The installation went fine, but when I start Outlook I get the following: "Your Web browser options are currently set to disable cookies. Microsoft CRM requires cookies to use the Web client. I guess to be fair I should note that the first thing I did was follow
the instructions to run "msiexec /a lightclient.msi" to do an administrative
install, but it installed it locally to my computer as an upgrade. I then
reran setup and did a "repair" install.

Never mind...found another post that said the version number in
Help/About is wrong...to get the correct version right click the "Microsoft
CRM" folder in Outlook's folder list.
