    - Update custom made picklist with the help of sdk Hi, I have made my own picklists and when I create eg. an incident with the help of SDK I would like to update my picklists as well with the corresponding value. I have made three picklists for an incident(case), but I can't figure out how to update it from the SDK. Can anyone help me on this one? This is how I do it in my xml query: (int)Microsoft.CRM.Flags.ObjectType.otIncident In contact I have just made one picklist and the update seems to work alright.     - CRM and Exchange Hi everybody, I'm a newbie in CRM, but I'm learning about it. I've got a scenario in which I have to create an ActiveDirectory subdomain. In this subdomain I have to install MS CRM. Do you know if I have to install Exchange in the same subdomain? Alternatively can I manage this by using the mail router of CRM to connect to the Exchange in the main domain? Would this work without installing exchange in the subdomain?     - Automatically updating fields Hi, Sorry to repost this but I just want to check whether there are any new options for what I want to do: I have several thousand records in MS CRM (leads and accounts), which contain fields like annual turnover, number of employees etc. In 12 months time the information in such fields will be out of date and I need to be able to up date these fields from an external source so that we can continually target our marketing activity based on fields like turnover, number of employees etc. Responses to my original post gave the following options: 1.     - Crystal: Verify you have enough crystal licences I have been experiencing a problem, like many of you, with Crystal reports on a CRM 1.2 server reporting that there are not enough licences when I try to access a report. The reporting service works for a while and then stops - restarting all of the crystal services make no difference but after rebooting the server it starts to work again. Finally I resolved the problem by tracking through the connection that the Crystal_CrystalAPS service uses. It uses a DSN to connect to the database (Specified in the service properties). testing the connection was failing - it turned out in my case that the service was using the local service account and that the local service account on my server didn't have any access rights on the database. I have fixed this by granting (Temporarily) the IIS01$ service account SysAdmins rights on the SQL server. I am posting this purely in case other people have the same problem and want another straw to clutch at! If you have other fixes which work for you post them in response to help out other people - so far I have found lots of problem reports but few fixes.     - Send Direct E-Mail as another User I apologise if someone has posted this before but I've looked everywhere and cannot find an answer to this one. I am trying to send a direct email template as another user and I am having issues. There issue is to do with assigning as another user. Here is the process that I am following. 1. I select the records (contacts or accounts) that I wish to send the email to. 2. I select Actions -> Send Direct E-Mail 3. I select the appropriate template that I wish to send 4. I select the Option to Send Direct e-mail to: Selected Items on this page 5. I select the magnifing glass at the right of User/Queue: to select the Send direct e-mail from: field 6. In the Look Up Records Window I select the Go button and I see only my own Username. No matter of searching (ie entering correct user names or wild characters) will result in another User Name being displayed. I have tried adding Users to teams/Territories they are all in the same Business Unit. I have tried from a System Administrator account however none of these have resulted in another user being displayed. My users are frustrated that this product does not act in the same way other MS products do...begin typing in the field and the picklist advances based on the letter(s) typed.     - SFO Synchronization I continue to have a SFO (1.2 with all hot fixes) user where the data available off-line is different than on-line. No errors are reported. I have heard that there may be a sync problem when the CRM server is also a Domain Controller. Has anyone any conformation on this? Are there any other reasons for this. I have already completely uninstalled the outlook client and reinstalled and re-synced. I will say that each time a data problem is identified, it is when the user has synced over a VPN connection.     - Sales Stage Ordering Hi All - Sorry if this is a basic question, but I have not been able to find the answer in this group or other online resource. We've taken the SPI Sales Process and modified it slightly: - Changed the names of the Sales Stages - Changed the probabilities - Added one additional activity The problem we're having is that the reports (e.g. Opportunity | Pipeline Chart Report By Sales Stage) seem to order the sales stages in a somewhat random order (e.g. 4th stage then 1st stage then 3rd stage...). So my first question is this - How do you "tell" CRM the order of the sales stages so that they appear in a logical order in the reports? Perhaps this isn't possible and I need to use Cyrstal to modify the reports... Second question is related to Crystal. I've seen conflicting posts. If I try to add a CRM user from an OU in the domain with deployment manager or the web GUI it fails. If I add a user to CRM from the root of the domain the user is added fine to CRM.     - Large data Hello, I want to receive data from a Web Service and load a repeating table in InfoPath with 2000 rows (with 15 columns with drop-down-boxes). My problem is the prestanda - it takes too long time to rendering the data in InfoPath. Does someone know what to do? Do InfoPath use DOM to parse the data? Can I override the parser to use SAX instead? One solution can be to inform the user that it's going to take a while to load but I have not control to know the time. I have tried to add each row in .NET code and show a statusbar to the user. The problem is that it take even longer to load...     - Modifying AccountBaseTable I would like to know if anybody has ever resized some of the AccountBase table field. I have some field that I don't use in my CRM and that takes 200 nvarchar that I would like to be resized to something like 1 nvarchar...     - CRM Objects in MS Word Templates Hi, I got a problem with the Merge function of SFO. When I want to write a quote in Word so a use the option in the menue. I select a template from word and then I am asked which Objects I want to include in the document. I want some information from the products, a custom field I integrated. Problem is, I cannot slect it in the document, so I digged a little bit in my database. I am able to select some information from Products, attached to a quote. For example the name or the productID are neither in the quote object nor the quote-detail object, only in the product object. So, obviously there is data from the productobject available.     - Finding Leads I have added the parameter specifying only open leads to the advanced find expression so there is still no explanation as to why different results are being produced from the 2 search methods. I have found that the search using the find box only returns the leads that the user owns. However, the same search in the advanced find returns many more records. Need some help,

I'm running MS Small Biz 2003 server and CRM 1.2 on the same box. I have
been stumped by this error:
