company 1 bought too many sales pro licenses. company 2 needs more. Both
cos are run by the same Board and owned by the same shareholders. I admin
both implementations. We want new keys to reflect a new transfer of 12 sales
pro licenses. We paid top price for close to 45 licenses. It seems I just
need to find out the right way to present my issue to MBS or find the right
person to take this up with. So far, I'm told this can't be done.
We are a Microsoft Certified Partner (not an MBS Partner though). Any
suggestions or experience with this?

You need to replace your single license with 2 licenses. You need to push
hard at Microsoft for this as this is not a frequent request. Do you have a
presrentative at MS you can talk to already. As an MS partner you should
have some good contacts to highlight your issue with.

Thanks John. We want the number of licenses we have. We just need to
reassign some from one company to the other. We need to reduce one
installation by 12 licenses and increase the other by that amount.

I've tried my Microsoft contacts but have only been told I can only give ALL
of Co. 1's licenses to Co. 2. Not a portion. This seems like the classic
Spend two weeks working to find the right person to make a 5 minute change.
Still searching.

this is because you need to have new licenses issued. You need to escalate
the issue up the chain of command.
