it happened mor than once and in mor than 4 computers that the outlook toolbar
stop responcing i press the butons like track in crm or new avtivity -
nothing happend
the only way i find to fix this is to install the client again with repair
option
but it happened again and again on different computers with outlook 2007

Send Mail Merge From Queue
Hey Everyone,
I was hoping someone might have some insight into what I'm trying to do.
Currently I am trying to build a marketing campaign and I want to distribute
e-mails via Mail-Merge. I have a queue set up called crmsales, and have
verified it is working.
Now here is my Question. How can I distribute the Mail-Merge activity so
that the e-mails are sent from the crmsales e-mail address and not my user
account address? I want to make sure that when people respond they are
responding to the crmsales address and that those e-mail show up in the queue
i created.

CRM4 reporting errors
I ran a Microsoft Update on my SQL server that has apparently broken the link
between CRM4 and SQL Reporting Services. After the update I started receiving
this error whenever I tried to run a report:
Microsoft CRM Unhandled Error Details: Server Error in '/' Application.
One or more data sources is missing credentials
I searched and found MS KB946289 that mentions this error when SQL 2005
critical update 934458 is installed. The fix they describe is either
repairing or reinstalling the CRM SSRS connector. I tried Repairing and
reinstalling the connector but the error did not go away. I then uninstalled
update 934458 and repaired/reinstalled the SSRS connector, still with no
success.
I am now at a loss as to how to proceed. I remember from the CRM 1.X days
there ways a way to re-publish all the reports, but that was when we were
dealing with Crystal reports. Can something similar be done with SSRS?
My test setup is fairly simple, with a 64-bit SQL 2005 server and a 32-bit
CRM server and no host headers.
Any help is much appreciated.

Going through the system requirements part of the setup I get a Warning on
the IIS part. It cant access the URL-- Error accessing URL
http://IRONWOOD-CRM: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal
Server Error.
The second error I get is :
Setup failed to validate specified Reporting Services Report Server

Timezone Issues
We have users in both the Central and Eastern Timezones which I can't think
it an unusual situation. The problem is that date fields set in the eastern
timezone appear a day earlier when looked at in the Central Timezone. For
example 10/25 will appear 10/24. How can this be corrected?

cleaning dirty fields in CRM 3.0
How can you programatically make dirty fields in CRM clean again?
I have written a Microsoft Behavior control that can be added to a CRM
field to make it act like a mask edit control. The problem is that
this control is added dynamically to the CRM screen through its onload
event. When the control is loaded, it automatically formats any data
it finds in the field. To CRM, this looks like a field update which
marks the field as "dirty".
The problem now is that if you click the print icon on the screen, CRM
responds with a message that the screen must be first saved before it
can be printed because of dirty fields. But, saving it causes a
reload and a refresh of the mask edit controls, which results in a
dirty screen again.
Is there anyway to mark these fields as clean so that the print
preview function can work?

Data Migration Manager and sample data on RTM VPC
Hi
I am having problems importing the sample data using the data
migration manager. I followed the steps in the Sample Data Readme. I
am logged in on the VPC as litwareinc\administrator.
I can connect, import the sample data map, and start a new migration
based on a previous migration.
I progress as far as the validation stage of the migration job. But at
the validation stage it hangs for a long time (a few minutes), without
actually validating any of the files. The "currently processing" field
is empty, i.e. it does not even start to process any of the files (or
at least fail to tell me so). It then fails with an error message
saying "The Data Migration Manager cannot continue. Restart the Data
Migration Manager, and then try migrating the data again". Needless to
say, retries also fail.
I have tried to import all of the supplied csv files, and I also tried
importing just 1 file (competitors), both failed.
I tried turning on trace, but so far it hasn't dumped any trace files
where I specied (using the TraceDirectoy registry key). Perhaps I need
an IIS reset.
Have any of you encountered any similar problems, or do you have an
idea what the issue is?

Cascading Rules
Hi,
I am having some problems understanding the cascading rules - more
specifically the "Remove Link" action when it comes to delete. It seems like
it does nothing at all (behaving like Cacade none), which is quite
illogical:
Example:
Lets say you have an entity type A and a type B. Creating a N:1 relationship
under B with A as the primary entity and keeping the relationship
"Referential" the action under delete says "Remove Link". Now suppose you
have an instance of A referenced by a number of B instances and you then
delete the A instance I would have expected the instances of B to get their
relations to A cleared. Instead nothing visible happens and end users can
get an error message if they try to follow the link to the now deleted
instance of A.
What am I missing here?

CRM3 exact meaning of status submitted
Hello,
We have a process where the customer accepts an order by signing a purchase
Order printed from the order
Then the order is sent to shipping dept thta shipps it.
After shipping the order is invoiced.
What is the intention of MS with the submitted status: submitted to customer
?
I discovered that the only mean to set a submitted status is with a workflow
rule.
But afer setting this status the Action 'Fulfill order' desappeared from
menu, and I add to create another rule to simulate the missing menu option.
What is strane is thta the menu option is here when the Order is simply
Active ????

URL Error Hitting Internal CRM
I have set up a CRM 3.0 server and all looks good... but when I try to hit
the CRM intranet site that was created during the installation
(http://myserver:5555) I have a problem from my XP clients. Basically when
the client hits that url it goes to the site but IE then immediatly closes.
When I do this as an admin from the server I get the window stating
something like "crm is going to open another IE from crm and close the
calling IE" I can then choose to close the existing IE and the new IE is
launched into CRM. Clients get nothing and new new IE is launched. Is
there some setting in IE that is incorrect on the XP client?

CRM 3.0 - filter products on adding to a quote/order/invoice
Hi,
i am trying to work out this awesome Product Catalog module in CRM
3.0, and I have stumbled across a rather surprising issue. I'll try to
explain it as clear as possible.
Let's say I need to have 2 different price lists in the systems.
I have lots of products, which're going to be associated with a
certain price list. Every single item will be associated, with one or
two price list.
My issue is adding a product to a quote. I click "add an existing
product" and a lookup window appears, but it shows ALL products from
product catalog, and not only those associated with a certain price
list, selected on the quote!
Does anybody know, how to filter this lookup windows, so it only
allows to add products assoiciated to the qoute's price list?
Right now I can add products to the quote, that are associated with
DIFFERENT price list! Is it normal?
I do not get the idea of adding the products to price lists then, and
associating the price list with a quote.
Btw. what is default price list? When I do not select it on the
product form, I cannot add this product to any quote/order/invoice.

CRM client installation
Hi, I am using CRM 3.0 and Outlook 2007. I am trying to install CRM client
(offline). I am using CRM 3.0 clients for Microsoft office outlook
compatibility. When CRM try to install Micrsoft SQL 2005 Express edition sp1

Deactivated Contacts in the Contact Associated views
In our internal system (upgraded from 1.2), we have it set that we can show
Deactivated Contacts in the Contact Associated views. I cannot figure out
how we did this as there is no custom code on the views to do this. Thus,
when you are on an account, you actually see Deactivated Contacts in the
listing of contacts for that Active Account.
However, this does not appear to be typical out of the box behavior for one
of our customers CRM install. Does anyone know a way to replicate this
functionality for our customersâ?? environment so that they can see deactivated

Can "Totals" be displayed in Advance Find results?
This seems like a question that would've been asked many times before, but I
can't find any reference to is here. Can total search results be displayed
in the search results pane? The only reference to a solution for this is by
a company in Romania called Creative Software Solution. They have a screen

CRM 4.0 Error on Page...loading default.aspx

I am having an error come up when I try to bring up CRM Web site. When I
enter in http://localhost:5555/myorgname it brings up the default blue screen
for CRM and does not redirect me to my CRM site. An error comes up at the

Data Sources
A client recently migrated their SQL Server to 2005, all of the
existing reports were migrated as well and are using a shared
datasource. I have read a few times that CRM does not like share data
sources and I am not able to load a custom report via CRM assuming
that its because of the shared data source. I used the CRMAF filter in
the report and I can load it via Reporting Services but I do not think
the CRMAF filtering will work when loading the report via Reporting
Services.

Qty on hand not reducing when submitting order
Hi,
we have CRM 3.0 and GP 9 with the CRM Connector for Dynamics GP installed.
When we create orders in CRM and then submit the order, the qty on hand for
the products is not reducing. It only seems to reduce once the Order is
changed to an Invoice in Great Plains.
In our old version 1.2 w/ GP 7.5, this was not the case. The qty on hand
was reduced as soon as the order was submitted.
Does anyone know if this is by design or if there is some place to change
those settings?

CRM4 causes Outlook to use 60% or more of CPU on a dual core!
Has anyone seen this. Running dual-core laptop, Vista and Office 2007.
tried this with both the full and 'lite' client for Outlook 4.
Laptop grinds to a halt when Outlook is running with CRM running - Outlook
process taking up 60% or more on both processors. As soon as you disable it,
Outlook becomes stable again.
Anybody know a resolution - I've raised a case with Microsoft and will post

Hi,
I have got a question about CRM 3.0. We had installed CRM 3.0, but when I
open Outlook (2003) he give following message:
- The server is not available and try to restart Outlook again.
I tried it, but the same error appears. What can I do to resolve the problem
? It seems that CRM does not connect with outlook.
I reconnected the services, restarting the server...nothing.

Filter Criteria and Office toolbar
I am relatively new to CRM and am trying to do some customizations. I have
created a new view for "Active Parent Accounts". I want this view to only
show parent accounts and not child accounts. However, when I run it the
child accounts/sub accounts still show up in the view. What am I doing wrong?
When we initially tested CRM we used Office 2003 and were able to have a CRM
toolbar in Word, Excel, etc. We are now using Office 2007 and I no longer

CRM 4.0 ServiceActivities Implementation Problem/Question
Trying to fit the square peg into the round hole...
I am trying to use the serviceactivity capability within CRM in what I
guess is a non typical way. Think of this system as a taxi cab
dispatcher that has multiple taxi cab companies that it controls. My
contacts call in and request a taxi for a certain date/time. I know I
want to use AAA taxi - and I know they have tons of taxis. I don't
care how many, and I don't know how many. I just want to schedule AAA
Taxi to pick up Joe Customer. When the next guy calls in and wans
AAATaxi at the same date/time, I want to be able to pick AAA Taxi
without having to pick a specific cab because I don't know who AAA
will send, nor do I care.
I don't seem to be able to do this with existing stuff because the
resources are too specific. Can I do this with custom? Am I missing
something or am I just out of luck?

CRM 4 Installation Error - A referral was returned from the server
Has anyone seen the following error during a new installation:

This is a pretty vanilla install:
- Single box deployment, on premises configuration
- Win2003 R2 x64
- Installing user is a member of domain admins group
- All green checkmarks from the pre-installation diagnostic
I've installed the CRM many times now in various environments, and the only
thing that seemed out-of-the-ordinary was the very first screen of the
installer, where it asks if you want to check for updates before beginning.
I know there are no updates yet, but I always click Yes regardless. In this
environment, it told me it could not check for updates, even though an
internet connection is available. Not sure if that will give somebody an
'ah-ha' moment or not, but thought it might be noteworthy.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Do people know you cannot share entity views anymore?
Am I the only one feeling the pain of this one? In 4.0 you can no longer
create private/shared entity views. So since 1.2 you can create custom
entity views and share them to teams. In 4.0 this is no longer availabe (or
you have to go through Advanced Find). So all the work that was done in 3.0
to spec, create teams, create the views, etc.are no longer supported. Some of
our clients spent significant time on this and there are a ton of
private/shared views. So now we upgrade them and all of the views are

Is there a manual procedure on how to remove outlook client 3.0 and 4.0 from
a workstation? I have about half my workstations with outlook cleint that

Emails not Tracked CRM 4.0
We are having an issue with an email coming into a CRM user's Outlook inbox
with a tracking token, when they open up the email, they see that it is not
regarded to a record. They hit "Track in CRM", but it doesn't auto-resolve

Automated report delivery in the context of the user/recipient
Is there a way I can utilise the SQL Reporting Services subscription
model in CRM to automatically run a report for a number of users, in
the context of that user, and deliver it to them via email?
Ideally I would like that to run on a schedule or triggered by a data
event.
If this is not possible, is there a work-around?
eg I would just like each department head to be automatically sent a
report either with their own specific department ID set as a
parameter, or preferably using CRM security so that they will only see
records assigned to their specific department.
It seems like a fundamental requirement to me so either I am missing
how to do this, or it was not also seen as a fundamental requirement
by the architects of CRM or SSRS.
And guidance or opinion on this would be much appreciated.

CRM 4.0 - Email too big
I have a CRM 4.0 Professional (with Exchange mail router integration) user
who is trying to send email that CRM reports is too big... no attachments,
single paragraph of plain text. I'm aware of the max size setting for
attahments but have not seen one for messages themselves. To my knowledge no
changes have been made in the system and this user has sent emails recently
with and without attachments.

Cases Report
Hello all
I have a couple of custom reports that show information about cases
(incidents) and their respective accounts. I have just found out, though,
that the reports won't show cases for the previous year, in this case 2007.
The cases are still in the CRM database and they show up under resolved cases
view.
Anybody knows if this is supposed to happen or maybe my CRM is just special?

This error pops each time the service restarts; 4-5 times if I boot the
server.
The ORGANIZATION in the error log msg is the active organization I'm
running, and the guid is correct; what I don't understand is this part of the
log: "The entity with ObjectTypeCode = 0 was not found in the MetadataCache."
If you look at the Entity view in SQL Server, there are precisely *zero*
entity types with ObjectTypeCode = 0, so it seems this service would *always*
fail....
any ideas out there?

I've installed the Wizard but in the 1st step (Signing in/gathering config
info), I get an ASP.net exception error. Searches for the error code (which
I've lost somewhere) tell me to register the dll in the GAC but that doesnt
seem to work.
