We have CRM Server 3.0 with SQL 2005 Server running at one of the client
place. We want to apply SQL 2005 Service pack 1 on Server where CRM database
is sitting.

MS Support team, recently advised one guy in our team against installing SQL
Service pack 1. Installing would have issues with the CRM server and would
stop the CRM server from operating properly. MS team did not go into specific
details as to what the issues were or any details of the types of issues it
would cause, they just strongly advised against applying SP1.

I would like to know does anyone had applied SP1 on Server. Any issues? I
could not find specfic in MS Site.

I would appreiate if I can have reference links to verify that as well.

Thanks in Advance.

We have heard that several customers are running CRM v3 with SQL 2005 SP1
successfully and without issues, but we have not yet done a regression pass
of CRM v3 against SQL 2005 SP1. We hope to have this completed before the
end of the year.

Regards,

Bryan

I am running SQL 2005 SP1, installed from the Action Pack subscription CD's.

I installed this prior to installing CRM 3.0. SQL 2005 SP1 went in on
4/23/2006.

I figured why not install SQL 2005 instead of SQL 2000 SP4.

Seems to be working fine.

Actually, though, I'm not sure that this is the standard configuration now
for SBS 2003 R2, which would have a different version of SQL 2005 (whoops).

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 9.00.2047.00
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 2005.090.2047.00
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2000.086.1830.00

Microsoft MSXML 2.6 3.0 4.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0.3790.1830
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.50727.42
Operating System 5.2.3790

So, in this case, will SQL 2005 SP1 be supported?
