 - Multiple records attached to one or many accounts I am attempting to create an entity called Trading Partner that can be assigned to an account. Basically I would like to globally create these Trading Partners then assign multiple trading partners to every account. Is this possible with a many to one & one to many relationship?  - Cannot View Reports Howdy, Using CRM 3.0 (new install) on Windows 2003 SBS Premium. When clicking on Reports in CRM web client I get: An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system administrator. Also, get the same message when clicking on Settings > Org Settings > System Settings. From what I have read, they are the same thing. When I go to http://server/reports I can see the SQL Server Reporting Services page, however there are no items listed. I'm assuming the installation should've set one up? What are the settings to set one up? Should I rerun installation? How can I get these reports working?  - Prior owner of a case notification queston Lets say a case has been assigned by one of our techs to another tech. I would like to have some way of informaing the tech via email that the person he assigned it to has acknowledged it, say by changing the cases staus. Is there any way that I can track the previous owner of a case and send them an email or does anyone have a different way of handeling this? Stuart.  - Error when bulk emailing Here is the error as summarized to me by one of our techs: There is a feature where you can send bulk email and make it look like it came from another person or queue (whatever that is). User has tested that feature successfully in the past by sending a message to himself and he made it look like it came from one of the other sales persons. Today he was trying to us that feature for the first time in a real message. The message was destined to about 75 recipients, but when he tried to send it, this error (attached) came up, and once that error comes up, he can?t do anything in CRM. Even if he closes IE and reopens it, he can?t logon. The error comes up right away. I think after his web session times out (20 minutes) he will be able to logon again, because that?s what we observed earlier.  - Exchange router not frowarding email to CRM Hi, Have setup CRM-Exchange Email Router & Deployment rules. When sending an email from outlook to external contact regarding a case (for example), external contact receives email with CRM tag. When external contact replies email arrives in inbox, but does not automatically go into history to attach itself to case. This has to be done by opening email & clicking "Track in CRM". The email from the external contact does get as far as the inbox of the MSCRMSystemuser mail box that was setup for the router, but does not get deployed from here in to MSCRM.  - Security Rules and Sharing Hi, We have a client with this scenario: BU1 - User A - Security role BU level for account entity - User B - Security role User level for account entity BU2 - User C User C shares an account that he owns with User B with read, write and append permissions. User B can now see, write, etc the shared account. User A, despite having permissions at BU level for account entity, cannot see the shared account. Our client needs that User A can see, write, etc the shared account without the need of sharing it with user A. Do you have any suggestion of how we can do this? We have since deinstalled the Server. Now we wanted to install CRM on another server. But MS CRM 1.2 wants to start the services of the first server.  - .NET 2.0 and CRM Hi all, We had a client that had access to their calenders, then one morning (after their IT guy applied updates to their server, inc .NET 2.0) they could use all parts of CRM but not the calenders. They just recieved a not available error. I read some posts that said that .NET 2.0 when installed on CRM server or workstation can cause the calender to be unavailable. I informed the client to remove .NET 2.0 and put on .NET 1.1 with SP1. He has not yet done that but weirder again it now is available, the following morning, without change. Has anyone seen this or know how/why this happened inscase it happens again and I need to look into it.  - CRM 3.0 Dynamic Excel Export error Hello, I am receiving the following error when attempting to export a dynamic excel spreadsheet from CRM 3.0: Connection failed: SQLState: '01000' SQL Server Error: 10061 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]ConnectionOpen (Connect()). Connection failed: SQLState: '08001' SQL Server Error: 17 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. CRM 3.0 and SQL 2005 are installed on the same server (this is a development environment) and in the same domain as the AD controller. SQL is setup to allow SQL and Windows authentication.  - MS SQL Server takes 100% cpu Alright, everyone has posted different slow CRM questions. Mine will be extremely specific. My organization runs CRM 3.0 with a pretty good sized database, size in my opinion should not matter, remember infinite scalability? Primarily with the Outlook 2003 add-in. Alright so they have an 'Offline Client', usually that means you'll be running on a laptop, or atleast that is how it is here. With 1.4 GHz and 1 Gig of memory exactly how does MS expect people to support a MS SQL server locally? It pegs the CPU, makes outlook a hog and the machine is virtually useless until 2-5 minutes after boot, and Outlook is slow even after completing the boot process. Both the sqlserver process and the helper process peg the cpu at different times. My question is, how do we make these laptops, with these necessary CRM apps on them, run at a reasonable pace. Is there some way to improve efficiency, or lower priority of the sqlserver, but my thought is that would only slow Outlook queries even more. So I guess the mobile/offline version of CRM makes a decent small form laptop useless. MS recommends going SQL32 on the server, but offline that won't stop the cpu from going to 100%, also increasing memory won't get the cpu to run more cycles so these fixes are BS. We can't be (and I am sure are not) the only people with this issue and MS still doesn't believe that it is as slow as it is. Do they test in a high-end environment for 25 minutes and then say we are ready to ship? I mean how did they not see that 'mobile laptops + sql server != good idea'. I do get an error during the build of: warning CS0168: The variable 'er' is declared but never used The mail gets created, but never sent. The process counters in the workflow monitor never move.  - Role Permissions to allow Sending an Email for a Lead I've been slowly locking down my users' access in CRM 3.0, and must have done a very good job. They USED to be able to click send email and the email would go out through CRM, and get logged. Now, when they try to send an email, they get an error that they don't have sufficient permissions to view this record or perform this action. You can only upload an attachment with path/file name length of maximum 185 characters. Is there a way to avoid this limit?  - Migrating from CRM 1.2 to 3.0 Hello, I have a question about migrating data from 1.2 to 3.0. I do not really want to do an upgrade, but if it's the best option so be it. With the new abilities in CRM 3.0 for creating custom entities and attributes, I want to move a lot of our existing 1.2 data to new custom entities/attributes that better match their purpose in our system. My question is the best way to do this. Basically I see two scenarios: 1. Use the DMF to map all the existing data to the new locations on a new 3.0 system. This seems like the option to go with, however I am not sure how to maintain relationships between things like accounts and their activities/notes. I need to set a new unique ID in the CDF for each entity and I'm not sure how to relate these new IDs between entities. 2. The second option would be to upgrade everything to 3.0, and then move data around once it is upgraded. One of the big problems I see for my situation is that I need to turn all leads into accounts. Is there a way to qualify all leads into accounts in some sort of bulk fashion? Any ideas or potential troubles with what I am thinking will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!  - Using Javascript to Disable a Toolbar Button I used the ISV.Config file to add a Toolbar Button to the Opportunity Form called "Create Billing Profile". I only want to enable this button when an Opportunity is set to Closed and Won. Is there a way to use Javascript to enable and disable a Toolbar Button? I tried to pass in an Id for the Toolbar Button in my ISV.Config file, but got an error. Thanks so much in advance for any ideas you might have. Th description field in an email allows the user to indent and add bullets etc. I would very much like to use this built in functionality elsewhere (not sure why this is not an option on every description field).  - Cannot open Workflow Manager Hi All, I have installed CRM 1.2 on a Windows Server 2003 machine. I cannot open the Workflow Manager or Workflow Monitor. An error message is displayed "You do not have sufficient priviledges to run this program. Contact your System Administrator". I am opening the Workflow Manager as an administrator on the CRM Server machine. I can access the CRM using web. Please tell me why this problem is occuring and how to get over it.  - CRM Connector for GP Install Error I am installing the CRM 3.0 Connector for GP, and have hit an immediate roadblock. Install asks for CRM Access User, I enter the name and password for the user set up only for CRM management and integration. Install returns a warning that the user is part of the Administrator group, so I know install is accessing AD correctly. Clicking to continue past the warning, I receive an error "Specified Microsoft CRM Access User is not part of the Microsoft CRM Privelege User Group. Please specify another user or add this user to the Microsoft CRM Privelege User Group and click Next." The user is in required groups for initial install of CRM. CRM 3.0 is up and running successfully otherwise. As a piece of additional information, this 3.0 install is an upgrade from 1.2. Any insight or direction would be appreciated.  - CRM Mobile 3.0 Error in Connection. Hi All, I have successfully installed CRM 3.0 in SBS 2003. 1. CRM Server - Working. 2. CRM Web Client - Working. 3. CRM Outlook Client - Working. 4. CRM Mobile in WM2005 - Not Working ! There were no errors during the installation and configuration of CRM Mobile 3.0. All CRM related services are running. I have followed the Implementation guide very closely. After I deployed and installed the cab file to the PDA which is running WM2005, I launched the CRM Mobile. I entered the User Name / Password and click Ok. I have Go Mobile role. During the registration process, it prompted an error "A connection cannot be established at this time. Please try again later." BUT I can access the url to sscerda and msgbus with PocketIE. Would be very grateful if someone could advise me more on this issue or any alternative to make my PDA register with CRM server. Thanks a million in advance. Hi We have a workflow (CRM v3.0) that simply sends an e-mail when a new opportunity has been created. the e-mails are sent successfully, but there are two dates that are in the e-mail that come out blank - there is data and I chave rechecked the core fields numerous times. Here is the template Attention! A CRM Opportunity from {!Account.Account Name;} has been created. Details are: Opportunity Name: {!Opportunity.OpportunityTitle;}</ Description: {!Opportunity.Description;}</ Estimated Close Date: {!Opportunity.Est. Is there any way to set such subscription in CRM interface? (I know about addon but in first functionality of CRM is there any way to do that)? 3) When I create custom entities I can set owner of this entity. I saw only two: user and organization. Is there anything else? 4) From search form I can quckly create new records. If I want to create javascrpt code OnSave which uses some fields that aren't show in this quick create form I'll receive errors. How can I solve this? The only way I know now is that I have to make all fields used in script business required (because only business required field are shown in quick-create form). 5) What happens if I will import different customizations for account? What if before there were relationship between account and some other entity A in target system. I import account customizations where no relationship with entity A but is relationship with entity B?
